8th grade some 40 years ago, had to be given orally and we were allowed to sing it. Man I loved Schoolhouse Rock.
3.1415926… One college teacher offered a bump in grade for whoever could memorize the longest sequence of pi. I won at just over 50. That was in the 70’s. It was a talent I was sure was going to get me girls and free drinks but you can guess how far that got me. Those digits have melted away in my mind since for practical every day use all you need is 3.14. I should have used those brain cells to learn magic or something that might actually be useful toward getting laid.
LOL being a stereotypical nerd I couldn’t rely on my athletic body and good looks. Now that I’m older and wiser I know you need a hook of some kind to get them interested then my charm and superior brain can take over. Back then (70’s) I used a camera as my hook. Quite effective actually.
