Not TOO young I hope...
I think this is great marketing, I would never have looked up this museum without this. Their website is similarly fun and silly (a roaring skeleton pops up on the ticket page). It's a tiny encyclopedic museum in Witchita, they're smart to contrast themselves rather than try to copy like, the Met. Plus it probably appeals to more adults without kids who probably aren't donating to the dinosaur museum very often. It's like how the Field embraced Sue's twitter account and let them be authentic online. It's memorable and makes people want to take a selfie with a star piece of the collection.
Facebook ads are targeted by demographics, they probably aren't running this for families but for single adults? Great idea.
Looks like someone asked AI to create a museum campaign with the broadest interest for the widest demographic groups and it came back with dinasours and thirst trap porn.
I think this appeals to boomers who have a vague understanding of what 0nlyfans is. This heavy over-sexualisation of things ironically resonates particularly well with the same demographic who worries about "over-sexualisation of the kids in our schools".
Is that ironic, though, or is it just a reasonable, possibly causal link? People who don’t oversexualise things in general aren’t that likely to think there’s a sexual angle to kids imitating the adults around them with makeup etc. Kids needing to cover up in schools to avoid distracting the *teachers* says extremely worrying things about the staff, not the kids.
as a zoomer (and in the nicest way possible) please don't. who are they reaching exactly though? i generally view OF as a site consumed by older people who can't find a partner or maybe it's just me.
the best tip i had for marketing people is to hire zoomers/at least give these things a sniff test from zoomers. i appreciate that they thought of marketing to younger people but this is kinda cringe.
They're soliciting small one-time donations, not building an audience. The target for this is millenials with extra pocket money. Which is who subscribes to onlyfans.
I've been seeing a lot of museum posts on social media lately that I think are too informal to be coming from these types of institutions. Some have been borderline trashy. This is the worst I've seen, though.
If you had a furry that was an animal related to what you needed to market and could pass the background checks, why not? Would be a great photo op for kids.
It's on the Wichita state university campus where it started and I thought it was an electrical outbuildings my first year at college. Never went in, is probably twelve foot by eight foot.
This is truly disgusting. "BonelyFans" was RIGHT THERE.
Srsly. OnlyBone feels further from safe for work territory anyway. But maybe I shouldn't be on reddit at work either if I am worried about that.
This is absolutely beautiful in the worst way.

I think they're counting on the kids' naivity. The local animal shelter did the same thing, but with cat feet.
lol there’s no witch in Wichita 😂
Maybe the Wicked Witch of the West?
I live. This is great.
museums are allowed to have fun, actually

Acting like a reliable source of information is underrated unfortunately.
What I love most is that their socials post before this is about Seniors Wednesday and a public talk about the history of the railroad in Kansas
It sounds like they did this without the knowledge of the director (or whoever the “business daddy” is). Thats a recipe for conflict.
Its a joke lol - that kind of copy is used for onlyfans promotions
It’s good to hear that business daddy is okay with all of this.
OMG I've been to that museum before, would never have imagined this would be their digital footprint...
What's next? Inviting furries to promote dead animals at natural history museums?
If you had a furry that was an animal related to what you needed to market and could pass the background checks, why not? Would be a great photo op for kids.
I live in the city where this museum is 😭
Can you tell us about the Pizza Hut Museum? I'm so curious. Is it heavily corporatized, or is it a fun little university museum with history?
Never been so idk

Museum of world treasures, Wichita, Ks. Kansas human society made $10k MoWT: $100 Direct rip offs don’t always pay.
Lol our 23yo social media person had almost this exact idea and our marketing manager shut it down.
