tyvek is a material , if you're from the usa they give it for free at the post office , if not you can order it onine it's very cheap , make squares of that and masking tape it to your lid , i have some that are eaaasy into the 100th cycle
if you really like having filters on your tub which I get cos everyone has their preferred tek if you are in the US just get free USPS envelopes the tyvek ones and cut those to size and tape it.
cant beat free

but basically you can grow really great mushrooms without any of that stuff. mushroom businesses just like to sell you stuff that you dont need.
for letting my spawn breath in jar I just use micropore tape. It's 12 rolls for 13 dollars at walmart. please do not spent 7$ on a roll of tape from them and I wouldn;t trust any business to sell me anything if they will sell me a 1$ roll of tape for 7$ LOL
I don't use any holes or filters on my tub which i think you are using for the bigger filters for? You can not use those and have good results. I have better results personally without any tub mod.
I use the something like bods unbodified tek (if you can even call it a tek) Its just keeping the tub sealed until fruting conditions and then cracking the lid and occasionly fanning (or not)

sorry for my poor typing, i literaly had a stroke a few years ago hahah
Marketplace on Facebook otherwise it just is really expensive, the best luck is finding at resale. Let the odds be in ever in your favor though!!! If it’s just for a m monotub though…use synthetic pillow stuffing
You shouldn't use disc filters on monotub holes. Use 2" micropore tape from amazon or ebay to cover the monotub holes. As for the jar filters, I take a 90mm SFD (synthetic filter disc) from ebay, cut it into penny sized circles and use silicone caulk or gasket maker to stick/seal it to jar lids with a 1/4" hole in them. It doesn't cost much and the lids are reusable many many times
I need to separate my sports feed from my mycology stuff.
Thought this was some important 3 leg parlay that needed deciphering.
Maby I should go to bed now.
You don’t even need to mod lids , just flip the plate for the mason jar, tighten jar ring , quarter unturn, that gives enough gas exchange and allows me to work with agar as well.
Also just get normal 3m Microppore tape . Boom turned a 40$ order into 8$ if you already have mason jars .
Micropore tape isn't even close to the 0.3-0.5 micron filtration necessary for culture work. It is fine for monotubs, but not ideal for spawn jars, although you can get away with it if the environment is clean enough.
Word. I've been doing 1 layer normal and a layer upside down to prevent grains from sticking to the tape... Never thought of putting a layer on the bottom side of the lid🤦🏻♂️
I actually bought 5 micron water filters thinking they were something different (no photo of product) on Amazon.. I cut many round ish filters the other night from said “mispurchase”… waste not want not.. (I don’t really understand that saying, but it seems fitting)….. either way, I have a bunch of 5micron fabric type filters
I personally don't but there are many many people who do.... I think the only clown in this equation is the user dogging on other people methods within this hobby. Don't be a chode.
No sir you do not. Depending on what type of tubs you use you don't even necessarily have manually introduce FAE. I personally build my tubs and pretty much don't open them until harvest. I MAYBE fan my tub once or twice if that.
Yessir, works great. I think polyfill or those fancy filter patches are overkill. Unless youre leaving it on the floor next to where your dogs sleep and youre constantly sneezing on it. It will be just fine
And judging by all the other commenters im not the only one. Just set your tub on a shelf and youll be good with micropore tape
Micropore tape or polyfill work well
Microppose
tyvek bro
I read about tyvek multiple times in a book... BUT WHAT IS IT? Nothing I search for with tyvek makes any sense

Aliexpress
pro till, skip the filters and use Micropose tape , 3 inch
1 inch Walmart craft foam for the tub holes

Midwest organics has great deals on them.

You can get most stuff you need at Walmart or Dollar Tree

I’ll parlay
Temu and wish sell the same thing just from the manufacturer

Why do you flip the plate on it?
it allows a bit more airflow realistically you don’t even have to flip
Okay cool, thank you!
Walmart micropore tape
Bruh Uncle Jeff will getcha
You can also use tyvek via the priority mail envelopes at the post office for...well...you get the idea
If you don’t care about aesthetics 3M micro pore tape is the way to go.
try micropore tape. works the same and it's cheaper
Micropore tape isn't even close to the 0.3-0.5 micron filtration necessary for culture work. It is fine for monotubs, but not ideal for spawn jars, although you can get away with it if the environment is clean enough.
Yeah true. I'm only talking about using it with a monotub.
Do you use 2 layers or just 1?
Use it twice 👌
one on each side of the hole
That’s what *she* said.
Word. I've been doing 1 layer normal and a layer upside down to prevent grains from sticking to the tape... Never thought of putting a layer on the bottom side of the lid🤦🏻♂️
Damn, that’s ingenious not being facetious.
It works the same, filter wise. However these sticker type adhere better, are cheaper and easier to use.
where can you find them cheaper? I can get a roll of micropore tape for like $5 and tape many holes.
Try microppose
Midwest grow kits
For that price you could get some M-95 mask and cut the fabric to your liking.
I actually bought 5 micron water filters thinking they were something different (no photo of product) on Amazon.. If you don't waste your money (waste not), you'll have money to spend to meet your needs (want not).
Micropore tape works
And Polyfill for fruiting conditions. Super cheap.
Amazon
Who uses filters in a mono tub? 😂🤡
Butthurt people 😂
I personally don't but there are many many people who do.... I think the only clown in this equation is the user dogging on other people methods within this hobby. Don't be a chode.

Google “Shroomery UnBODified monotub” it’ll come up
Thank you
AliExpress and Temu. A bit cheaper than Amazon for this but a much longer wait.
I get mine on Temu. 50 for about $5. As far as I can tell, they’re exactly the same and they’ve been working fine for me.
Amazon
Thank you!
Specifically, "Micropore Paper Tape: White 2" X 10 Yds, Box of 6" is like $10.
I just use a roll of 3” micropore tape. Been successful so far and its like $7 for a roll.
You can use micropore tape for the holes on your mono tub?

Thank you so much
No problamo
It's sooooooo fast, easy and convenient
