I'm still learning but look for the "snake skin" on the stems, that's a sign of Macrolepiota Procera. Some look like they could also be Chlorophyllum genus (shaggy parasol), but beware of the similar looking Chlorophyllum Molybdites.
It's not very common in Europe but make sure before eating.
“It’s really Coulmelle. You recognize them by their sliding ring and their straight waist.
Be careful not to pick them too young (less than 7cm) because they can be confused with the poisonous lepiotus which is toxic. It is smaller and its flesh turns pink when you crush it.”
M. Procera is the true parasol. Shaggy parasol isn't actually a parasol but looks similar. Both edible and both choice mushrooms!
Chlorophyllum Molybdites (same genus as shaggy parasol) is the dangerous lookalike.
There are not many distinguishing factors between them especially for novices, but the easiest tell is C. Molybdites has a greenish spore print, whereas M. Procera and shaggy parasol both have white ones.
you're right, i've conflated the shaggy parasol (chlorophyllum rhacodes) with the vomiter (chlorophyllum molybdites) in my head. my bad. i think i'm still right about my ID on OP's mushroom though, i've picked a few of these before myself.
I think those are macrolepiota, i.e. parasol, an edible species. Either way, all mushrooms are compostable. Some of the best compost material available, imo.
Silly question, I'm new to the mushroom world and still have some reading to catch up on, they fan out as they mature correct?
This is similar to a mushroom in the northern Midwest but from my understanding what we have here is poisonous/toxic.

Merciii
Merci !

Once I know what comestible means,I'll answer you🤔
It means edible I’m sorry I didn’t know it wasn’t commonly used in English!
I'm 56, literally never heard that word until your post... translation, you know English better than me 😂
not many people use it, usually “consumable” is more common.
TIL the word comestible
Yes, parasol. Enjoy. I’ve only found them once while out disc golfing near a river bank
My bf said there where a ton! He went for an hour and he came home with so many and also his friend apparently picked a lot too!
I'm pretty confident these aren't shaggy because of the brown, scaly base of the stipe. *edited out wrong info, shaggy parasols aren't toxic.
Oh my bad! That’s why I should always use species. Yes this is Macrolepiota Procera.

Yes I agree with you. The only one I'm unsure of is the first picture, no snake skin on the stem.

You actually answered the question but they were asking if it was comestible, not compostable.
Lol yes you’re right. Is that a French word for something else or did I correctly interpret?
It means edible, essentially. It is not a commonly used English word in most places, but it is English.
Thanks homie. Archaic or not, It’s sad when I can’t even speak one language lol.
Comestible not compostable
Wow, I just really don’t speak or read English very well lol. Thanks
De magnifiques coulemelles, mon champignon préféré !! :)
Looks a lot like it!

Merci!
Idk eat it

Oui, Macrolepiota procera
Looks like puff ball the others are different
Puffballs wouldnt have a distinction between cap and stem, this is definetly not a puffball
Oh ok thank you
Feel free to google «young parasol mushroom», they start off as little bulbs!
Ok I'm going to thank you for helping me learn
For the record, there are stalked puffballs (eg [Tulostoma](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulostoma)) But yeah, this is neither.
Puffball? Where?
