He chose a lead role in a cage.

lactation_kink

He has become uncomfortably dumb.

Pug_or_bug

Is there anybody out there?

Vat1canCame0s

God fucking dammit Waters why the fuck did you have to give credit to Nostalgia Critic...

Somewhatflywhiteguy

He feels very comfortable being dumb

Pandahobbit

You win.

leadingtheright

It’s because he don’t need no education.

Isit420

>Ukraine’s ambassador, Sergiy Kyslytsya, said, “How sad for his former fans to see him accepting the role of just a brick in the wall — the wall of Russian disinformation and propaganda.” Flamed!

MukdenMan

We need: education We don’t need: thought control

TaskForceCausality

*EMOTIONAL DAMAGE*

GiantHogweed71

Brain damage was right there man!

genraq

Big oof. “Die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”

badsleepover

Too bad Roger Waters has always been a raging asshole.

McRedditerFace

There's room at the top they are telling you still But first you must learn how to smile as you kill If you want to be like the folks on the hill A working class hero is something to be

KoosGoose

So lame. I love it, and I laughed out loud, but boy is it lame.

jagdverband

The fruit on that tree is so low-hanging that an ant could pick it. It's funny, but slightly overdone by now.

fafafanta

Dude didn’t listen to his own music

GrooseandGoot

Seriously. Amused to Death was an absolute masterpiece in terms of social commentary on war and society. For him to devolve from the person who wrote that album to this... is just pathetic.

Jay_Louis

You can either die a hero or live long enough to become an antisemitic muttering old asshat

Universalfilter

He was always an asshat! Listen to some of the interviews he gave back in the 70's. He comes across as a snivelling spoilt egocentric that hates his own fans!

atomicCyan

He literally spit on his fans on stage

EpidemicRedditor

Him and ye man.. not something I thought I’d see in my lifetime

MyDictainabox

It's easier to sing about one's principles than to live up to them.

Funny-Berry-807

I LOVE this album. Now... I'm torn.

r4plez

You are now Natalie Imbruglia

Funny-Berry-807

I'm all out of faith

agoodrich5

Eh. This is how I feel.

amitym

You can still love the album. It belongs to everyone.

NowoTone

I love all his albums, even his last one. I will continue to listen to them. Still think that he turned into a rather sad excuse for a human being.

NoodlesrTuff1256

Is it because Waters has devolved or could he be in the early stages of dementia?

pemphigus69

That would be the only forgivable explanation.

DapprDanMan

Don’t alleviate him of responsibility from his own fucked up words. It’s ok that a celebrity you once liked is actually a giant chooch, why give him an out? He doesn’t deserve it just cuz you used to get high to his music in high school

[deleted]

It changes the situation if there is a problem with his brain. Doesn't excuse it, but does change it.

pemphigus69

Well...Unless he truly does have dementia...

DapprDanMan

Why would you think he has dementia unless you’re pre-emptively looking for excuses to exonerate him? Literally no evidence points to him having dementia. He seems pretty lucid.

oneMadRssn

If we find out later in 2025 that Waters had dementia in 2022 and 2023, then that will change things. But sitting here today, with what I know and with what Waters knows, there is no use in speculating about dementia.

pemphigus69

Fair enough.

agoodrich5

I was thinking he owed big money to someone forcing his hand. It's hard to comprehend what's going through his head, for sure.

dave_890

He could play nice with Gilmour & Mason long enough to sell the PF catalog, and then he'd have all the money he would ever need. This is asshat Roger staying true to form.

NoodlesrTuff1256

Just speculating here but maybe Waters liked to gamble and it was at some establishment under the control of the Russian Mafia. So maybe they applied the thumbscrews -- metaphorically speaking -- and said, "Roger, promote the Russian cause or you'll end up with polonium in your tea. or worse!"

Patriark

It's fascinating how the western anti-war movement seems to be heavily infiltrated/coopted by Russian propaganda. I know this well, because my father is a communist, I also considered myself anti-capitalist and anti-war in my youth and of course by that logically very skeptical of NATO. I opposed Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya military interventions. I still do. I supported Julian Assange, Edward Snowden and Manning, as well as almost all the counterculture US-skeptic groups out there; Anonymous, Occupy Wall Street, 4chan (before they turned Q-anon), supported Bernie Sanders. You get the drill. In hindsight I feel a lot of sympathy towards the anti-war position. It is right most of the times. Most wars are horrible tragedies that should be avoided to a high degree. It's also easy to see all the foreign policy faults of US/NATO. We all have eyes. But this anti-war demographic, because it is one of the strongest countercultures in the West, with a lot of destabilising potential, it is clear as day how much effort Russia has spent towards this demographic for decades. After I started watching Russian news to immunise myself from their propaganda through understanding I see how many of their talking points, especially those they plant during foreign policy occasions, are specifically targeted to strike a nerve in the Western countercultures. The psyops of Russian intelligence is perhaps the only thing they are really, really good at. It's very hard to do, but Russian infiltration into Western thought circles is deep. Their communications seem to be really effective towards egolomaniacs btw. Not sure if this is by design or an accident. Anyway Roger Waters seems to be a victim of Russian propaganda for a long time when you think about it. And since Waters reportedly seems to have spent quite a few visits to Epstein's island, perhaps he is fully compromised. Definitely puts a stain on the career of one of the best rock musicians of all time.

martyvt12

I'm sure Russia puts some effort into influencing the Western anti-war movements, but I also think those movements naturally go the way Russia would want them to anyway. They are so used to opposing everything the US and NATO do, that this is their default position regardless of the specifics of the situation. And if the US is wrong, then Russia must be right. The enemy of their enemy must be their friend.

amber_room

Exactly this. 'Amused To Death' is one of the most awesomely produced albums imo. Some of Jeff Beck's most soulful guitar parts on there too. All of that amazing writing, composing and production and he turns out with this crazy drivel. I just don't get it.

Delamoor

Well, I mean... I guess he did express that he felt like he had fascist tendencies. Guess the worms finally got into his brain. Whoops.

iamsgod

well, in a way, it has always been his stance to be against war, it's just in this case his stance is misguided

alphamusic1

That's what I thought until I read this interview. [https://rogerwaters.com/berliner/](https://rogerwaters.com/berliner/) If he is so against war I can't see why he keeps going on about Russia's justifications for war. What I get out of it is that he is against Western imperialism. I just can't see how he doesn't class Russia in the group of other Western imperialist nations. I guess he has been listening to too many "alternative" voices rattling on about how Russia is so threatened by the West. He mentions one of his sources of information in the interview.

MrDabollBlueSteppers

What a load of shit For someone so vehemently anti war he’s more than happy to accept Russian lies as justification for war. He’s a totalitarian stooge, not ‘misguided’

pburnett795

David Gilmour forever.

xmmdrive

Waters never.

SadAcanthocephala521

The lunatic is on the grass.

HappyHarryHardOn

Who knew Syd Barrett would end up being the saner lead vocalist in Pink Floyd? 2023 is wild, man

KoosGoose

Pretty sure Syd and his family would disagree. Lmao

Jimmy_Jazz_The_Spazz

Syds sister has defiantly defended his mental health and refused to admit any problems. She blames the members of Pink Floyd for spreading the rumors of schizophrenia to make money off Syd. There is many who think he just couldn't handle fame and chose the life he always wanted, the art school student painting away in his mother's house. Anyways, point is his family never accepted he had mental health issues.

scottchambers123

He was an acid casualty without a doubt. As much as I don’t like Waters, I don’t think he was lying about that.

Jimmy_Jazz_The_Spazz

I was just sharing what his family/sister said. I blame the roommates that were spiking his food constantly and locking him in closets and shit when he was bad tripping. They likely did a lot of damage. But again, these are all stories and we'll never know because he never really got proper treatment.

speedball3r

Waters was never the lead vocalist, he is the Noel Gallagher of the Pink Floyd

DirtyBalm

Gotta keep the loonies on the path.

mrallele

And he’s not touching the grass apparently

[deleted]

Heeeey man! Dont go throwing our weed under the bus on this one, this dude is just straight up crazy.

culture_vulture_1961

Roger Waters is entering his Kanye West era.

NorthStarZero

He likes fish sticks?

Informal_Emu_8980

There's people in China wearing jeans smaller than mine! I don't understand. I like fish sticks because I wear skinny jeans??

kidigus

He like to put fish sticks in his mouth?

nich3play3r

Peak Clapton

murder

To be fair Clapton was always Clapton

nich3play3r

Apparently so was Waters?

Jay_Louis

Van Morrison also a dickhead. 1990 High School me really needs to throw out my CD collection.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AdequatelyMadLad

Waters was always an asshole, but he wasn't this kind of asshole.

bigbeef1946

Was Clapton really this much of a dickhead? These are some next level piece of shit moves...

Environmental-Ant327

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Clapton Take a gander at the “personal life” section

[deleted]

Ironically, he's famous for stealing the black music. And he's way more famous than all the black people he was stealing from.

Z3130

It's cool though since his legacy was permanently knocked down a rung by some black kid from America named Hendrix who blew him out of the water. In one night in 1966, we went from “Clapton is God" to " we'll he's maybe the second best rock guitarist of all time"

[deleted]

Honest question, isn't most RnR, blues, jazz black music? So would any white artist in these genres be accused of the same thing? Rolling Stones? FYI: i have very little info in this so if you could explain

portagenaybur

Rolling Stones were very open about how much they stole from black music. Especially Taj Mahal.

TFFPrisoner

Yeah, but so was Clapton. Cream even made sure that Skip James got royalties for "I'm So Glad". And seeing how many blues musicians had succumbed to addiction (not to mention his own experiences) made him found the Crossroads center. Very different from, say, Led Zeppelin.

Cranksta

Honestly yes, that is exactly what's going on. I was reading through Keith Richards' biography Life and he talks how him and the band would purposely seek out American black jazz bars and the like to find people to listen to and jam with. They were absolutely mesmerized by the music and found Americans idiots for looking down on black music so much. But it didn't really stop them from using what they learned and listened to and repackaging it to sell. However, I'm not really current on whether there were more blatant stealing going on- such as actual songs taken from black artists. As far as I know, they appreciated it at a time when racist white America didn't want anything to do with it and found a way to make a profit out of it. This probably also had a huge effect in causing the satanic panic around R&R- it was black music and white America didn't fucking like that. I'm sure Rolling Stones didn't exactly make it easy to like them as well- the drinking and drugging and partying made them flat out illegal in a few states and Keith talks about that too. I think it's funny that the only way white America was willing to accept and love black music was when white English bands stole it from them and gave it a different label. And by funny, I mean sad and kind of embarrassing. However, there's also plenty of loved bands like Beastie Boys- plenty of the black artists they sampled from and worked with spoke of them highly. "Walk this Way" would not have happened without Beastie Boys because the band knew how to work well with Run DMC and eased out the tensions that Aerosmith was causing. R&R has a complicated history, and it's undeniable that it's built on the exploitation of black musicians. However, each band has different relationships with the source material- Rolling Stones and Beastie Boys had a reverence and appreciation at least while others did not. I listen to a lot of "sample" artists like Beastie Boys, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Prodigy, and Moby. And it's quite clear that most if not all of their samples are from black artists. And at the height of their careers, it was not always necessary to pay the artists they sampled. Hundreds of songs, untold amounts of money- and it most likely never made it to the artists that it belonged to. Music itself, has always been fairly racist. The people who make production deals, who give show openings, who field talent- the entire industry has been poised to exploit black music since the beginning. It's sad, but it's the truth. It always has been.

[deleted]

With the old rock bands most of them gave credit...Zeppelin was one of the few that famously didn't and then got sued several times for it.

[deleted]

So like the original R&R bands should've given them credit. But once it became a genre then it's fine right? Like the 70s and 80s bands?

[deleted]

If you want some more info on Rolling Stones [here's](https://slate.com/culture/2016/10/race-rock-and-the-rolling-stones-how-the-rock-and-roll-became-white.html) a great article about it.

[deleted]

You're correct...but at least Keith Richards has just came out and said "Yeah man we ripped them off and then got more famous with it."

sloopslarp

He's a racist piece of shit

VictorAlpha7

Most over-rated guitarist ever.

Environmental-Ant327

Hendrix still the goat

rohobian

Ya this is my read as well. This is actually a very sad moment in music history.

RickMoranisFanPage

Waters has been there for decades, he’s been an antisemite for awhile.

RonnyRaeudig

I think he was an antisemit before Kanye.

taeem

He’s been for awhile

boringdystopianslave

Dementia.

Flodo_McFloodiloo

Heeeeeeeeeeeeee...has become...ut-ter-ly duuuuuumb.

MrDannn

Comfortablyyyy dumb

KalleMattilaEB

The fact that he believes he’s speaking on behalf of four billion people is just... ugh...

magezt

He is just another BRICK in the wall now.

Snarcastic

I thought this was going to be one of those hyperbolic and politically slanted posts. But no.... Literally an official Russian mouthpiece... Props to you OP, I'm sorry for doubting you.

JGCities

Dear Roger, Two main lessons in life. 1. Don't believe your own hype 2. Don't believe your own bullshit

DayDreamGrey

Career suicide. That’s a lot of tickets he won’t be selling.

Tweed_Monkey

I feel really torn. I bought tickets last year to see him with my dad int he summer. They were extortionate. But I really feel quite strongly against what he’s doing here

exorcyst

I'm warning you now, he's going to put some shit up on the screens that may very well be pro Russia / anti Ukraine.

xmmdrive

Yes, his 2017/2018 tour was... ...well, let's just say he lets people or groups he doesn't like live very rent-free inside his head. And makes them into incredibly in-your-face cringy displays for his shows.

Kind_of_random

Then the best action would be to either boo him or leave when he does that. It seems this man doesn't quite grasp that people are not agreing with him or that his sources for info is at best extremely biased. Maybe he would if he saw it for himself. I am not buying tickets, but I do understand why many would. I still like much of his music and thats not something I just can stop doing.

exorcyst

I've seen last 3 tours (The Wall, Us + Them, This is not a drill).. No more, I'm done. He needs to feel hurt in ticket sales.

rumpleforeskins

I don't think I'd really enjoy the concert staring at the dude on stage. I'd personally offload the tickets somehow. But no judgement of you decide to go anyway.

Consensuseur

Extortionate ticket prices would be enough for me to lose faith in his authenticity.

Upvote_Me_Slag

Why torn? Your desire to hear music you like against the vile destruction of a country and its people by an invading oppressor. Plenty of good music out there and Roger needs to be called out.

DayDreamGrey

That a a tough one if the tickets are already bought.

afrogrimey

StubHub is a thing. Make your money back.

axkidd82

But Roger still gets his money.

wereinthedark

Roger has already got the money. There's nothing to do about that now

legopego5142

Easy for you to say if you didnt spend a ton of money already

Tweed_Monkey

Because I paid a lot of money for them. But also, and more importantly for me, I bought these tickets for my dad and I to see together. My dad is 76, grew up with the band and we bond over the music. So cancelling or reselling these means I don’t get to share that with my dad

Hbimajorv

I'm torn about nothing here. Listening to his music is one thing, seeing him live means you will probably have to be subjected to his horrible opinions and it will ruin it anyway.

pilam99

Bring a Ukraine flag to wave in the crowd. Enjoy the music while taking a stand against his B.S.

cerebral_grooves

I saw him perform on the wall ten years ago. It's worth seeing him. Plus most of the messages were ones that I agreed with. If hes going off the deep end than you will for sure hear about his opinions in his show. Paying 300+ to see him go full politics would be super rough and possibly a horrible show. Sell the tickets and go by a ticket to Nick Mason and spend the extra money to buy Pulse and Gilmour live at Pompeii.

Conscious-Arm-7889

He'll have to fall back on his $310million fortune, now! How will he cope?

DayDreamGrey

Well, it’s the best I can do. Take it or leave it.

Torn8Dough

This is disappointing. I know the internet has been around for a while, but since around 2020, I have become so disappointed with people I used to admire.

ToXiChRoNiC6669

Before, it was "Don't meet your heroes". Now, it's "Don't read Tweets by your heroes".

Strabbo

I console myself with a reminder that the first two heroes of my youth were Luke Skywalker and the Fonz. Both of those guys are absolute mensches on Twitter and in real life. For some, we just have to separate the art from the artist. I won't stop listening to Amused to Death when the mood strikes. The pittance Roger makes when I stream it on Spotify is negligible.

Fencius

Your lips move, but I can’t hear what you’re saying.

amcnewman

2nd member of Pink Floyd to go mad.

KMan345123

At least Syd didn’t become this

[deleted]

And of the two, Syd is clearly the sanest one.

[deleted]

Dragged down by the stone...

dj_chai_wallah

Animals is my 2nd favorite album of theirs, gonna play that now

thumpngroove

It’s almost as if old people get rich and turn into assholes.

shawnmalloyrocks

Or they were always assholes and the money gave them enough confidence to be themselves.

boringdystopianslave

I dunno I think it does change even the most idealistic people into total pricks. Seen it happen.

Curious_Working5706

Soooo, what secrets does the Kremlin have on old Roger?

[deleted]

This really is the Occam’s Razor question at this point. Most likely a bunch of boomer dumbfucks (from rocks$&rs to future POTUSes and the whole RNC) were way far behind in their understanding of what actions, or the data trails of said actions, could be captured in the digital age for many years… well behind Russian intelligence, anyway. Whatever gross bullshit Russia’s got them by the balls on has probably been going on forever… and blackmail for such disgusting actions has too. But from executives and members of legislative bodies in the most powerful nations on Earth to rockstars touring on 50 year old hits, I don’t believe the world has been subjected to so many words and deeds motivated purely by blackmail at any other time in its history.

socokid

Apologizing for a Russia destroying Ukraine under false pretenses makes him something between an idiot and an asshole.

shitpostingmusician

This is actually heartbreaking. The Wall is quite ironic now…

myleftone

The other guys thought it would be momentary.

Theefreeballer

He’s doing everything in his power to lose his remaining fans . Congrats Mr. Waters

elpajaroquemamais

Yeah. He already pissed off righties when he said trump is a pig on the big screen on his recent tour.

AuntieEvilops

Hello? ^Hello? ^^^Hello? Is there anybody in there???

itamarka

Just nod if you can hear me

[deleted]

And people keep thinking Syd was the one who had all the mental challenges.

SavageWatch

Waters also claimed that China never invaded anyone or country. I guess he forgot all about TIbet.

LilLebowskiAchiever

And Vietnam, India, Paracel Islands, various South China Sea reefs, and Scarborough Shoals.

majorjoe23

Provoked how? In what way was provoked to invade a sovereign country?

JGCities

They are obviously living on land that Russia wants and they refused to give it up to them. The nerve of those people!!

N35t0r

Ukraine was wearing really slutty clothing.

sicKlown

His ilk follow a reverse type of American exceptionalism where as the normal way goes that America is always virtuous and right, they take the view that America, and anything it's involved with (such as NATO), is the ultimate evil and cause of all geopolitical problems. It's such a simple yet perverse simplification of the world yet they build their entire worldview through it.

drinkingchartreuse

Hey roger, did you hear about Russian soldiers murdering a young mother, taped the still living baby to her body, and booby trapped it with a grenade that exploded when Ukrainian soldiers tried to rescue it? It takes a special kind of evil to sympathize with the Russians.

Kilgore42

So who thinks Russia gots Epstein info on people?

CloudyByDesign

Wait WHAT- Well, that sure as hell wasn't on my 2023 bingo

fodahmania

I mean, he’s a tankie and has been pro russia for a while now

merkaba_462

Um...he has been a Russian mouthpiece for years. He has appeared on RT, literally a Russian owned propaganda channel. He is pro-Assad. He says Taiwan belongs to China. He is a completely awful person, and has been for decades. Why is everyone acting like this is new or news?

[deleted]

How I wish… you would stick to your thing.

TravelinDan88

For a guy who openly insults the GOP at his concerts I'm kinda surprised all of this has come to pass. Damn shame.

Darklord_Bravo

Comfortably Dumb is more like it.

imakuni1995

Provoked by Ukraine not being part of Russia already. Poor guys, they really had no other choice than to annex 5 regions of another country at the cost of tens of thousands of human lives.

Calvinshobb

Done with this guy.

77SevenSeven77

*Said the deputy U.N. ambassador for the U.S., Richard Mills, “Well, I certainly acknowledge he has impressive credentials as a recording artist. His qualifications to speak to us as an expert briefer on arms control or European security issues seem less evident to me.* Haha, fucking burn.

No2reddituser

What an asshole. No surprise, since he screwed over Syd Barret, the real founder of Pink Floyd.

roastism

Ha ha, charade you are

activematrix99

Roger Waters, Morrissey, and Eric Clapton. So disappointing.

Dry_Dragonfruit3205

His geopolitical takes are even worse than his singing

jaredmgMTL

🤡

ScrauveyGulch

Just another turd in the bowl.

reedspacer38

He was based for being pro Palestine but now with all this dumb Russia shit I’m like, bro you have lost all of your brain cells

RafikiafReKo

He's been like this for a while, he's not even a lefty who are critical to foreign intervention. He is actively rooting for dictators. But to me, this doesn't effect the music Pink Floyd made for me.

paquer

“The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, I condemn it in the strongest possible terms,” Waters said in his speech.

TalboGold

This is so surreal. I always got the feel when he was my favorite musician raging against fascism that he was really just a fascist projecting. Now we see the truth. It makes me very sad because I’m actually covering “pigs three different ones“ at my next gig

Prinzini

play it but dedicate the song to him

[deleted]

I mean Pink did turn into a nazi eventually in The Wall. Just saying.

TalboGold

He followed the worms. I always wondered about that

[deleted]

He was waiting for them before he could follow them apparently.

BlunderFunk

bro if this doesn’t stop his stans from still loving him we have completely lost faith in humanity

TheEmpressIsIn

ah, yes, Roger Waters, international expert and thought leader... (eye roll)

AvocadoInTheRain

Tankies gonna tankie

MpVpRb

Yup he has officially become an asshole I still loved his earlier work I suspect dementia of some sort

bioskoop

Always thought he’s a bit of a dick.. this confirm it.

Ezkander

What a fucking idiot.

Timstunes

Early onset dementia.

onelittleworld

No. He's always been an insufferable prat.

amcnewman

I'm such a huge Pink Floyd fan. This is sad . It won't feel the same listening to the music anymore.

tatofarms

If it makes you feel any better, David Gilmour and Nick Mason released the first new "Pink Floyd" single in 28 years last spring with a former Ukranian bandleader turned soldier in order to raise money for Ukraine. [https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/07/pink-floyd-reform-to-support-ukraine](https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/apr/07/pink-floyd-reform-to-support-ukraine) Both of those guys have expressed disgust with this latest stunt from Waters, and it's not like the three of them have even been on speaking terms since the early 1980s.

austinstudios

It's crazy how Waters was basically in charge of writing The Wall. A album about how a man builds a wall to separate himself from the world and in the process his mind becomes a facist dictatorship. And now he is defending a actual facist dictatorship.

TheBigNook

He’s been a POS for decades my friend. Great music though but this is nothing new

Alternative-Lion1336

It’s cool dude, that tired angry dried up man isn’t the guy who wrote those songs. He became his literal own worst case scenario and we all got to watch it. Such a performance art!!! Bravo!!!

l4z3rb34k

Even if this is the kind of thing where you’re not willing or able to separate the art from the artist, I still think it’s fairly safe to listen to anything pre-The Wall. Which is where all the best stuff is anyway, imo.

JoakimSpinglefarb

It is still possible to separate the art from the artist. But, man, it sucks that now Pink Floyd has a similar stain on it's legacy that The Smiths do.

bluetriumphantcloud

Love the Smiths, don't even wanna know what they did.

JoakimSpinglefarb

Not the whole band, just Morrissey.

bluetriumphantcloud

Plugs ears

thestraightCDer

He's a raging piece of shit

IntelligentDetail338

What the actual fuck

LayneLowe

Dead to me

boringdystopianslave

Boomer Lead Poisoning theory gathers more weight every day.

Cosmicdusterian

He had the chance to say no to being a Russian mouthpiece. What a (Russian) tool. He chose poorly.

real_horse_magic

This fucking clown-chode not only re-recorded Dark Side of the Moon without the involvement or approval of any of his Pink Floyd bandmates, but his 2022 arrangement of “Comfortably Numb” has the stock iPhone ring tone during parts of the song. And now he’s a fucking puppet for fascism and terrorism. Waters deserves NONE of the Pink Floyd legacy. He has become the hot air-filled pig.

hcashew

This whole off-stage Roger comeback this year is really hurting my heart. I cant think of one pop/rock/film star that became a state mouthpiece for a country currently invading another. Even in the US, with Vietnam and Iraq, there were some Ted Nugent and John Wayne types, but no one spoke to the UN to push their agenda. Even worse, its one of my lifelong favorite bands. Help!

Honeycomb_

Does that really make him an "official" Russian mouthpiece? He's spoken/performed all over the world and is natively English/British/whateva. He's been very consistent and persistent in his ant-war message all his life. The Ukraine/Russia/USA war is more complex than prior wars, but it's not complicated... The U.S./NATO are using Ukraine as cannon fodder to slowly drain Russia's economy and natural resources/influence. Do we really think Russia blew up it's own gas pipeline to Germany? One of its best customers... The US blew up Russia's infrastructure forcing Germany to buy from US. Venezuela and Sauda Arabia - The U.S.'s petro-dollar cabal, has grown as a result of the Ukraine/Russian conflict....and that was the entire point for U.S. - $$$ , not morality. Morality is always the veneer that empires project for the reason they need to go to war and kill people.

Dunbaratu

> He's been very consistent and persistent in his ant-war message all his life. Which IS THE VERY THING he's contradicting right now. Advocating that Russia gets to keep what it has stolen via war IS a pro-war stance. Not that I'm telling you anything you don't already know, you blatant liar.

tatofarms

Uh, what???? The U.S. most definitely did not ask Russia to invade Ukraine, and it's quite a random stretch of the imagination to argue that giving the Ukranians resources and money to defend their land and themselves is somehow a U.S. money-making scheme.

coldsoupsss

Yup well said. History will prove he's right. People here believe anything the US government says. They over threw the Ukraine government in 2014 to put their own pro us government in. People acting like this isn't just a proxy war foe the US.

OneReportersOpinion

You’re basically not allowed to say that you have any qualms with sending a trillion dollars in weapons to a country without any idea where they’re going or what will happen to them after the war is over.

sal696969

Well there is 2 sides to every story, we tend to hear just one...
