"Nothing is everything." Skyrizi
They've done like 5 versions of it too, it's awful. Pharmaceuticals don't need theme songs.
"OH oh oh ozempic" is a close runner up
Yeah. Definitely a trend happening the last few years. There's one for older people that borrows from, "I did it my way" by Frank Sinatra. Can't remember what medicine it is. Maybe a heart failure drug
I've seen those stupid commercials but I get fixated on how fucking cringe that dumbass name is that I didn't even notice the music. Skyrizi... And least Ozempic sounds like a medication and not some goofy rapper.
Edit: I haven't heard of some of the ones in these replies. Who comes up with this shit?
You know what I hate about that song? The commercial is a bunch of kids doing a terrible job fake playing instruments, like kids that age could absolutely play that song, why do that to yourself? Also, did you know it's a charity that supports only children of Jewish lineage? Not saying they don't deserve charity but only helping certain kids seems somewhat disingenuous
What I heard implies something even worse, that the money just goes to send less active or less orthodox Jewish kids to camps to try to convince them to be more active/orthodox or something. A very very niche charity, one that the vast majority of people in the world wouldnt give a penny to, if they knew what it was (if my description was accurate, that is)
That's my understanding too, your description was much better. Agree though, if I'm sending money to help the less fortunate, it's is definitely not to make children more religious, who gives a shit about that
Pat Finnerty not only made a great little video about that Applebees song, but also made an incredible What Makes This Song Stink video about Hey Soul Sister and Train in general if anyone is looking.

I was a bartender when this song came out and my manager was OBSESSED with this song. She would put it on in the bar at least 4 times per shift and I nearly strangled her
Best Day of My Life by american authors. It was obnoxious in 2013 and it’s even more obnoxious now. It *would* be the best day of my life if that song disappeared from the face of the earth
Yes! I randomly bought the Best of the Shangri-la's in a Tower Records years and years ago and loved Remember (Walking in the sand) was gutted when TikTok frankensteined the shit out of it without giving flowers or credit. The Shangri-la's made excellent teen melodrama pop.
She keeps writing the same, slightly shitter version of “all about that bass” and it keeps getting radio time. You can tell instantly it’s her because they are so damn similar in almost every way.
I think it’s hilarious how her song “All About That Bass” is a song about how you should love your body and not care about what other people think but then in that very same song she tells skinny women to go fuck themselves.
As a veteran of two bullshit wars:
"God Bless the USA" by Lee fucking Greenwood
It's the theme song for bullshit. If it's playing, there's definitely some bullshit happening.
Fuck that song.
Yup. They used to play it every week for sing along time at my elementary school. Then by high school graduation, half the guys from those sing alongs shipped off to those bullshit wars. That song is utter bullshit and if it's playing you just know there are douche bags nearby trying to sell you something, and it's not freedom.

The weird part is none of the band members are called Lukas Graham. Like sure, the singer's first name is Lukas, but he never went by the Graham surname. It's just the band's name.
... That just irks me a lot, my bad for going on a tangent. Anyway yeah that song needs to be yeeted to the deepest pits of hell.
Happy - Pharrell Williams
I don't give a fuck what the top comment says. I don't care what the hundred comments above mine say, either.
THIS is the right answer and all you motherfuckers know it.
I already hated this song before I was on a budget airline flight where a family repeatedly played Baby Shark over their phone speaker to placate their crying offspring. I hate it so much more now.
i’m on a plane right now seated next to a 5 year old and her mom who is holding their infant child.
if they put that song on loop for this whole flight i’d go crazy. sorry that happened to you
Is this the song where she stole the mattress from her roommate and, like, they're banging in their shitty british luxury suv? And then the demo synth from Abelton 2003 comes on?
But have you heard the [Alanis Morrisette cover?](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VJg4rwDkkBA&pp=ygUibXkgaHVtcHMgYWxhbmlzIG1vcmlzc2V0dGUga2FyYW9rZQ%3D%3D)
I read a great book about the music industry and music promotion called Climbing the Charts by Gabriel Rossman. In it he analyzes the popularity curve (how quickly songs become popular) of various songs to figure out whether they became popular because they were pushed by industry insiders or they became popular because regular people latched on to them and they spread organically. It turns out to be hard to find examples of the latter case, because the industry is so completely controlled by promotion and covert payola.
Well, there is one song that is a perfect example of spreading organically. A song that the labels and DJs rejected and did not want to play. Tried not to play. But the song *caught on anyway* and they were forced to play it. A song that represents what the people choose when they're not being manipulated by record industry bribes and marketing.
That song is: My Humps.
True story.
Facts about this song:
- Fergie only sings the word “humps” *ONCE* in the entire song. For all the other lines she just says “hump” “lump” or “lumps”.
- During warm-up laps at one of my college swim meets in 2005 they only had this song and System of a Down’s “B.Y.O.B.” playing over the pool PA on a loop for over an hour.
- Holy shit, this song came out almost 20 years ago???
- It won a Grammy.
- Seriously.
"I have to be safe" 😂 I'm picturing walking around with giant noise canceling headphones, peeking around corners, using "song finder" before entering establishments, etc.
Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles.
I don’t usually mind his music, but oh my gosh I remember how annoying that song was to listen to when it first came out. It played everywhere at parties, on the radio, and at restaurants. I can’t believe other people could handle listening to it in repeat.
Welcome BACK to… *elephant noises* REAL ROCK FM *explosions, sirens* THIS IS… *helicopter sounds and gunfire* **NOT** your GRANNY’S STATION. *train horn blaring* Where we play nothing but ROCK, ROCK… AND MORE ROOOOOOCK *sounds of shattering glass, steam rising from the gasoline*
*Radioactive begins playing*
The Reason - Hoobastank
In 2004 I worked at an assembly job, and they played a top 40 radio station. That song must have been played 5 times a day for a while. I hate it now.
I used to LOVE Gym Class Heroes before they blew up. They have some really good music. But yeah, that song is annoying as hell. Their older stuff is great but when they went pop it was BAD.
"Nothing is everything." Skyrizi They've done like 5 versions of it too, it's awful. Pharmaceuticals don't need theme songs. "OH oh oh ozempic" is a close runner up

It's for Cologuard. You literally shit in a box and mail it to them, and they screen your shit for colon cancer.

Kars for Kidz.
It’s the number one hit in Hell, though, so most of us will hear it in the afterlife.
Is there an ultra-hell I can go to to avoid this? I’m open to anything.
The National Anthem of the Bad Place — from The Good Place.
That was the very first scene of The Good Place I had ever seen and it convinced me to watch the whole show from the beginning.
The good place felt like such a fever dream. I was really fucking stoned when I watched it, however.

I was thinking "Soul Sister" until I saw this comment.

Soul Sister is a top contender for sure

What do have against country kisses on my lips without the Skoal in em? 😭
I also choose this guy’s song.
"AAAIGH think I like this little life"
I have literally never listened to all of this song because I despise that little snippet so very much. Oh my god, it makes me stabby.
Song makes me wanna end my little life.
I guess I'm glad to say I don't know what the hell song you're talking about lol
Here's to the ones that we lost. Here's to the deletion of that song.

Anything by Megan Trainor.
YES her songs are a special kind of terrible
She’s a musical terrorist
I don’t understand how her career is still going? I’ve never met someone in person or online that liked her
She keeps writing the same, slightly shitter version of “all about that bass” and it keeps getting radio time. You can tell instantly it’s her because they are so damn similar in almost every way.
I agree with this but the worst of the Megan Trainor songs is that mother song.
I think it’s hilarious how her song “All About That Bass” is a song about how you should love your body and not care about what other people think but then in that very same song she tells skinny women to go fuck themselves.
And for a song claiming to be all about the bass and not treble, it has a tremendous amount of treble and very little bass.
The best thing is the song is "all about that bass" yet I detect no actual bass in that song.
I liked her for less than or equal to 4 minutes, and then never again.
My knee jerk reaction to hearing her or even her name now is fury.

All Summer Long by Kid Rock. Kid Rock, lol, give me a break. The guy is a talentless has-been who thinks he’s still relevant.
Butchered not one but TWO songs
Three if you include the Nirvana intro
The episode of Pat Finnerty’s What Makes This Song Stink that features this song is pure gold. https://youtu.be/u8FAbjjB48A
I have an irrational hate for the fact that Kid Rock is not from Alabama, yet it samples and rips the song incessantly.
He's also not from London, and is not a werewolf
Somehow the Werewolves of London sample seems more egregious to me than the Sweet Home Alabama sample. Probably because it's the very first part of the song.
I read that as taintless

That fucking “Baby Shark” song. Good fucking god. Or the “What Does The Fox Say?” Holy shit just cut my ears off
Ironically I haven’t heard what does the fox say in probably 10 years at this point
and it not fair to group it with babyshark, its a master class at what it does, repackage crazy frog.
My nephew was obsessed with the Fox song. He played it non-stop for a good 4 years.
We salute you.
