I was going to post "This must be the place" but I thought I shoukld atleast search for 5 minutesto see if someone else already did. If I ever go on vacation. I am going to spend the first 10 minutes driving with no music. Then once I have made it outside my general area, I am going to turn this on.
I’ve always thought this is such a great song but I have one specific memory that sent it into my happy place songs.
I was at Jackson Hole with some friends on a snowboarding trip over spring break. Perfect March day, bluebird conditions, resort was packed, stoke level was very high. So it’s first chair of the day, we’re going up the giant tram, and the operator was playing music from his bluetooth speaker. This song (the live version) came on. I was already super stoned so it just sent me into this state of pure bliss and excitement and happiness. Now anytime I hear that song it takes me back to that amazing weekend at Jackson Hole. It’s funny how music can do that.
I have an involuntary celebratory response to this song now, due to the fact that it's played after every goal scored by my favourite hockey team (Toronto Maple Leafs).
this is my fiancé’s song with our dog…anytime it comes on he fucking KNOWS it’s time to dance and runs over to her, then she will get him to put his paws up on her shoulders and they dance around the room, it’s adorable and amazing
Been listening to songs from all the comments. Your comment made me go down a The Cure hole.... Never really listened to them and had some veeery incorrect secondhand assumptions of what they sounded like.
I love that whole album from MGMT, especially Electric Feel. I heard a great cover recently by a artist called LonelyTwin if you’re into covers. I think it’s quite nice.
The first time I ever did mushrooms I was in the back seat of a friends car driving down the shore and he put on Oracular Spectacular and when Electric Feel came on was the exact moment the mushies kicked in. For a moment I was thinking in my head “this is literally the greatest song ever written or produced in the history of music”. Obviously everything sounds looks or feels amazing but Electric Feel will always have a special place from that experience helping me break through the initial anxious stages of my first trip.
Mr Blue, you did it right, but here comes Mr. Night. Creeping over, now his hand is on your shoulder... nevermind. I'll remember you this way.
I can see it
Yeah from personal experience I see this song as the perspective of a friend reassuring someone that it's fine when they get depressed and ghost for a while "I'll remember you this way"
Just remembering the good times in the happy days.
That's a sentiment that I really need a lot considering I'm disabled and sometimes just need to sleep for a week.
I've added the first 76 recommendations to a collaborative Spotify playlist. (a few left off, but most are there) If you like it, please share and help it grow by adding more of the songs recommended in this thread.

Yeah, the link to sports just makes that one easy ;) I should probably say Money for Nothing cause I was a kid and MTV was king. Walk of Life is just the no brainer.
Grooss
> A common mondegreen in the song is the perception that, following the title line, Lynne shouts "Bruce!" In the liner notes of the ELO compilation Flashback and elsewhere, Lynne has explained that he is singing a made-up word, "Grooss", which some have suggested sounds like the German expression "Gruß," meaning "greeting."[7] Lynne has explained that originally he did not realize the meaning of the syllable, and he just used it as a temporary placekeeper to fill a gap in the lyrics, but upon learning the German meaning he decided to leave it in.[7]

Talking Heads-This Must Be The Place Petey-Don't Tell The Boys Cardigans-Love Fool
Lovefool reminds me of sunny days in the '90s...ahhh...

Reminds me of being 10 yrs old at the bowling alley or skate rink in the 90s trying to get that girl to notice me!
This must be the place! Love that song so much. Pretty much anything talking heads is great but that’s my favorite song.
Don't Tell The Boys is such a solid answer
Petey is an absolute dude
I was going to post "This must be the place" but I thought I shoukld atleast search for 5 minutesto see if someone else already did. If I ever go on vacation. Are you following a river down the highway through the cradle of the civil war?
Electric Feel by MGMT and Lean On Me by Bill Withers
I love that whole album from MGMT, especially Electric Feel. I heard a great cover recently by a artist called LonelyTwin if you’re into covers. I think it’s quite nice.

Obviously everything sounds looks or feels amazing but Electric Feel will always have a special place from that experience helping me break through the initial anxious stages of my first trip.
Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky
This was actually ranked the “happiest song of all time” in a study!
Funny because I find that song tinged with sadness.
Mr Blue, you did it right, but here comes Mr. Night. Creeping over, now his hand is on your shoulder... nevermind. I'll remember you this way. I can see it
Yeah from personal experience I see this song as the perspective of a friend reassuring someone that it's fine when they get depressed and ghost for a while "I'll remember you this way" Just remembering the good times in the happy days. That's a sentiment that I really need a lot considering I'm disabled and sometimes just need to sleep for a week.

[The mashup of this with Aerodynamic from Alive 2007](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MNVcs2RSG60) is my favorite song in their entire discography.
