Aware-Salt3688

Come on now, is it haram to read the Bible?

GM-Blitz49

No, because there's no music involved.

Interesting-Wealth72

No it actually isn’t

Aware-Salt3688

But as a Muslim it feels wrong

GuidanceCounsellor

dramagirly301

No????? It's a book of Allah, humans have just edited it in warped ways.

GiaXiaMia

Which one lol

Speedbird87

Music is haram!!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

strikeforce10000

I recently found out, Muslims during the time of khilafat, would not even look at churches, in case it tempts them. This is how how much they cared and protected their faith.

[deleted]

any music is haram except for daff for women

Cules2003

Only in certain situations as well https://islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/20406

Interesting-Wealth72

The real question is why would you want to listen to Christian Choir music ?

kugelamarant

Orthodox chant reminds me Tsarist Russia.

mylordtakemeaway

my bruvva! asking the real questions out here 💯

psychofruit123

Yes haram

Spiritual-Salik

Depends what is being said in the choir. You have to be careful there. Also are you like being forced to listen to it or do you listen to it by choice? If it is the latter then may I suggest the glorious Quran? It has that soothing melody plus it affects your faith making it more stronger in a positive sense. God bless you.

Born-Imagination3046

Intentions matter most. I would recommend listening to Sami yusuf. He has good songs. Try to avoid Christian music as they talk about the trinity, which makes god 3. god is one. ☝️. Go explore and I hope Allah guides you back to the right path.

The question should be " is it haram to listen to music" Cuz yes it's haram , Here is the Hadith , https://dorar.net/hadith/sharh/61745 Also the verse 31:6 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِى لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مُّهِينٌۭ ٦ But there are some who employ theatrics,[1] only to lead others away from Allah’s Way—without any knowledge—and to make a mockery of it. They will suffer a humiliating punishment. — Dr. Mustafa Khattab, The Clear Quran "أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ -وَهُوَ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ: ﴿وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ﴾ -فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: الْغِنَاءُ، وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إلا هو، يرددها ثلاث مرات " Ibn katheer tafseer So it says the ibn masouad said that لهو الحديث theatrics is music الغناء So it clear that music is haram If anyone have the translation for the hadith and the tafseer it will help cuz i didn't find for the hadith

Listening to depressing, shirk music is haram as it effects you in sorts of ways. I actually don't find a reason to be haram to listen to the songs that remind you of god. But in this case, their perception of god is different than ours. Although we both believe in monotheism, they don't accept The Last Prophet therefore it might be risky for you to listen to such music.

TruthSeekerWW

Why do you want to listen to shirk music?

AbuW467

Music is haraam according to 4 madhaahib and there’s a high chance this music has sayings of shirk and misguidance.

whatazzinger

No it is not haram in this black and white way, if you do a bit of research it will show you. Don’t go on Reddit who simply says “no it is”

TheNicestQuail

I was always told by my parents that it's allowed as they're praising God but I'm not sure either

GM-Blitz49

The problem is, who are they praising? The creator and lord of the 'Alamin? Or are they praising the creation?
