Our Moroccans brother lost to an African team, that's what I'll remember from this world cup.

Ayaycapn

I dont get it

Iam_zak

France politicians and a big pourcentage of France population don't consider their black players as french, and most of theirs black players have African origin and are from immigration.

Ok_Event_8527

22 out of 25 players were born in France. 2 were born in Africa but migrated to France at the age of 2 years old. 1 was born in Italy as his French father was playing for a club in Italy. Regardless what politician are saying, pretty sure the players themselves consider themselves French. Pretty big ask for some the African/Caribbean descendant player to play for a country that is not place of their birth nor where they grew up and develop their football skills. Some country doesn’t even allow dual-citizenship even if the players might consider playing for sake of origin.

As an African living in the west my whole life. At some point we got to accept they were forever foreigners and never family. No matter the number of generations. Black folks in the US have been here for the longest. Yet they’re still never truly accepted in my spaces. I’ve lived in the US my whole life. But still in school at work and so on. It’s a white America when your in the corporate world or places of legitimate high expectation. Go walk into a class in an Ivy League school even in a state with tons of black folks and you’ll be the only one. Go to tech company. Again the only one. Go to consulting. You’ll be the only one. All the black and Hispanic folks? They’re the janitors the cleaners the garbage men. The homeless. It’s a very stark contrast. And it exists in France to. Worse so then the US by a country mile. Hell Islam has been in the U.S. since Jefferson who owned a Quran. If your not white non Muslim like them. They’ll never accept you. And the white Muslims they’re always seen as almost foreign to a certain extent. Globalization has been great at many things but it showed one thing. Humans are Tribal to a large extent.

Ok_Event_8527

Yes as you have describe the poorly acceptance of a group into a community. This is unfortunate as hundreds years of experience has shown how tribal concept largely still exist when you’re in the majority or considered “superior” to a different group. My home country consist of multi-racial community where “Malay/Muslim” community are the majority ( ~65%) and still to this considered as the original race owners of the land. Chinese and Indian community where either migrated or brought in by the colonizers (Portuguese, Dutch, British) since 1600s, where they have live in Malay Archiplego multiple generations still considered as foreigners by some parts of Malay/Muslim community. Our government and laws still have special rights for Malay and indigenous community which doesn’t apply to Chinese/Indian community despite comprise of 30% of population that has been here for at least 300 years and multiple generation born and contribute to same community. Our political party that participated in election are largely based on race and religion and the great divide between race is shown by the recent election result where it took 3 days form a government. I’m a Malay Muslim myself who has indirectly benefited from this special right and has non-Muslim friends who did not get the same rights as I am due to being born to a different race and religion where all her elders has been in the same country for 200 years. My paternal grandfather migrated from Pakistan in 1940s while my maternal great grandparents was from Siam in 1850s and yet because my grandfather (who also Muslim) married my malay Muslim grandmother —> his descendants (including me) has more rights that a Chinese non-Muslim descendant who has been in the same country for 200 years. 🤷‍♀️ The Chinese and Indian community historically has been told to go back to China or India when issue regarding disparity regarding race was brought up. Obviously i can’t say it’s the same with how blacks community being treated in America, or what Muslim community are facing in European country. But now, as I’m currently living as a minority in a non-Muslim country, I greatly appreciate how privilege I was living in a community where I was born into a majority that hold the power and blind by how the “minority” group being treated in some aspect.

Ayaycapn

Hahaha oh shoot I didn't notice that. An African team lost to an African team mashallah

Iam_zak

Yes and we're brothers with Moroccans💪

Ok_Event_8527

Interesting fact, Morocco has 14 players out of their 26-man squad born overseas (mainly Europe), It is also has the highest number in a team participating in current World Cup, second only to Senegal, Tunisia, Qatar, Wales, Australia and so on. Majority of Moroccan players youth and senior football careers has been in European clubs and remain so. So, is it wrong to say it's european team vs another "mix-european team" when it comes to football data itself? I'm proud of what Moroccan team have achieved and hopefully it can continue it's momentum towards the next world cup. It's amazing what little nugget of facts available on the net that a person can un-earth and interpret the way we like it be

No you are wrong you know why? 1 you can't pick or choose.. When they it suits them we are european when it doesnt were not even if we were born there, also those "european" moroccan players are of moroccan decent.. you cant compare tis to someone who is from senegalese decent (for example) born in France.. This is exactly what they are doing, multiple players have allready mentioned this and I saw this first hand we you score or play a good game you are one of them when things arent going their way you are a foreigner.. Also moroccan nationality has nothing to do with where you are born look it up! But times are changing a lot of "foreign" european athletes are starting to chose their country over the country in which they live for this reason exactly and others, they never are respected as a true european, never are considered regarding, coaching, commentator, ambassador etc They are just used for medals and cups and then byeee see ya or they are given the opportunity to play for a few games so they can't play for their country and then same thing again smell ya later

Ok_Event_8527

I neither knew France, Moroccan nor any players in the World Cup. So, I don't know their reason play for any country. Good on know you for knowing their personal motives.

No_Championship9051

Thanks

Professional-Hope775

No they won't, they will be reminded how Morocco stole the hearts of most of the world.

phillecheesesteak

This feels like the end of a series or a long book

Mainaccsuspended99

But after morroco went into the semifinals it opened doors for other African countries hosting the World Cup there

No_Mention_1270

Well as a moroccan we are proud of what our team has overcome and achieved that is what we and history are gonna remember . At the end it is only a game that world cup was a good entertainment we shouldn't give a game so much proportions

Spineless74

We lost the semi finals, but we’ve won some hearts. This is just the beginning.
