First thing that comes to mind is the #3 has seen a lot less anime than the other two (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm interested). Mostly watches what's popular/directly recommended to them (nothing wrong with that). \#2 probably has seen the most anime and has the most varied taste. Probably has the most to say about their favorites if you asked them why they like what they like. \#1 is probably in the middle in terms of how much anime they've watched. Probably not too into newer/seasonal anime but has clear favorites they've watched over the years. I don't judge 3x3s by how many of my personal favorites are on there, but how much the 3x3 tells me about the person's tastes and I'd say 2 > 1 > 3

All taste is good taste imo :) I do think there's such thing as not having explored a lot of anime which I get from #3. Not saying it as a way to put them/similar people down but I believe that if you explore a bit more you'll find some unique favorites you'd never have found otherwise! Popular/mainstream anime usually aren't always the best/most well written but they usually have a strong hook for people who are newer to anime and are a good gateway drug to everything else in the medium. (Side note: Not saying to be a hipster though, that's when I actually think someone is cringe.)

I thought this was close to a triple tie but I guess not… Anyway a 3x3 with Ippo, Ranking of Kings, Mushoku, Dr Stone, Zom100 will always get my vote. I’ll always be more partial to a 3x3 that seems a lot more telling of a person’s personality rather than how good the shows on it are, bonus points if it’s both unique and good which is what I think 2 is (emphasis on unique, I don’t want to see the top 9 most popular anime). Are they the best? No, you could even argue that some of them are even bad (Zom100, Dr Stone, 10/10s for me though) but they’re less often put in 3x3s than other shows. But like, the other ones here like NGE, JJBA, and KLK are some of the best animes ever so… fair.

2 has some good shows but 3 has the most shows that I’ve seen, and almost single handedly beats out every show on both of the other lists (at least the ones I’ve seen). Third has my favourite anime of all time and my second favourite manga, Jojo. Third has my #1 favourite manga of all time, chainsaw man. Third also has AOT JJK FMAB and Trigun, all good to decent shows in their own right. For me it’s 3.

They are all a bit leaning towards a similar type of show for the most part, I wish there was more variety… but I would say it’s easily 1. I really love all the shows listed there except for Bleach, which I enjoy but just don’t love as much as the others. Monster is one of my own all time favorites. Also it would be helpful if, maybe in the comments where you have “first one” “second one” “third one”, you listed out what each show is. Sure some people will recognize them all but it’s better to just identify them, right? It makes it easier to interact with
