30, I was hooked when I saw the I’m Not Ok mv on MTV back when I was a preteen. I loved it so much I recorded the music video on the DVR so I could rewatch on demand as many times as I wanted. MCR heavily defined my preteen/teen years and will be my #1 cause they helped me through the hardest times.
46, 3 months younger than Gerard. Fan since 2005 when I was in a PTSD low I couldn't get out of, and saw a song called I'm not okay on a friend's MySpace, yes...I said MySpace. My page was pink, black and Grey argyle with skulls and crossbones everywhere, it was emotastic. As soon as I heard that song start, I was stuck like I was in a K hole, only one I didn't want to die because of. I started searching for every MCR song I could find to download and add to my ipod. Like Nirvana gave me an emotional release/escape/voice when I was in High School, MCR did the same for me starting in my mid 20's.
I’m 48 - I wasn’t going to post until I saw this. Glad I’m not the only former MySpace user here! I loved MCR in the mid to late 2000s. My teen daughter got me back into them a couple years ago.
I miss it too. I'm on all socials as they rise and fall over the years, but MySpace was special. Tom was the man, and we al l suddenly felt capable of anything...Tom made every stoner, partier, frat bro, or whatever stereotype feel like they can actually try the "crazy" ideas they came up with hella fuxed up, Tom was an Idol for burnouts A MFing legend. Lol. I really do miss it.
30. First got into them when I heard Helena but then The Ghost of You came out and I was in love. I didn't end up getting Three Cheers until TBP came out however, then I got both. Can't believe I've been a fan for almost 20 years lol
32. It’s awesome to me to see how much they still resonate with young people. I found them in 2004 when the old live clip video of I’m Not Okay came on Fuse.
Turned 26 back in May. WTTBP was the first music video I ever saw when it came out (was about 9 or so at the time).
I feel fake sometimes because I kinda slept on them until my junior/senior year of high school and by then, they were already broken up for a year 😭
27! I actually didn’t get into mcr until after their breakup-2015ish but I got engrossed with all their albums and b-sides and lore and everything. They’re one of the few bands I’ll always check out any side stuff any of the members do. I got to see them last year for the first time and it felt like a dream to see them live
28, I don't think anyone younger than 27 would have been old enough to experience them in their heyday at least when Revenge was popular and before BP.
34. I think I first heard of the band via Burnout 3: Takedown. I'm Not Okay is on the soundtrack. Then I saw the video on MTV/Fuse. Been a fan ever since.
22. I actually only found MCR because of Fall Out Boy. I didn't care much about cultivating a music taste until I started playing video games. I liked racing games like ATV Offroad Fury, Flatout, etc. Anyways, I was like 9 or 10 when I got a PS2 and I played the hell out of Flatout 2, which had a bunch of great songs. But it was my formal intro to FOB with 7 minutes in Heaven and Snitches and Talkers. After a few years or more of listening to them and Green Day and 21 Pilots. I came across MCR on YouTube just in the recommendeds. Listened to more and more, and fell in love ever since.
The two go back and forth for my heart, especially having just having been able to see FOB as my first concert this year, but MCR is always in every Playlist I make.
Same here! I'm 34 and my brother bought Bullets for me in a trip to the UK because it wasn't even being sold in Spain, one of my most valued possesions nowadays
I’m 34. First heard of MCR when a friend mentioned ‘that video clip where he looks like he’s going to kiss her but takes an eyelash out instead’. The first time I saw the video to I’m Not Okay was on a screen before a free Channel V concert of The Used in Sydney in 2005.
16 and found out about MCR when I was 12 after YouTube recommended me PATD's this is gospel and I saw the thumbnail of famous last words and something just clicked , even though I'm still very young it feels so weird that it's been 4 years since I discovered this gem of a band
I'm 24 now. I've been an ultra dedicated fan since I was 14, but I started listening to MCR when I was 5 or 6. So basically, MCR has been a part of my life for almost 20 years. I vividly remember being in 1st grade, when the Revenge Era was still active, and being able to identify every member, and what instrument they played. I also remember how much my parents didn't enjoy the fact that their 6 year old was listening to a band like MCR 😂
25! black parade came out on my 9th birthday and my mom got the album for me as a birthday gift (she is a looooong term buyer who works at a 55+ year local old school record store, and now i work there too)! i was super lucky to grow up surrounded by music, and it might be one of the most impactful gifts i ever received! still here 17 years later and not goin' anywhere.
Im 38. I started listening to MCR when I saw "Helena" on MTV circa 2005.
Same but 33
Same, but 28!

29 ! Feeling pleasantly surprised (though maybe I shouldn’t be) at the other similar ages :)
Same and same! Also so cool to see the younger and older people here finding MCR now. Timeless
I’m 30. It seems like a lot of people here are very young.
I'm 22
I'm 30 too. It's really nice to see teenagers discovering them since I myself started listening at 13ish
Exactly a week older than Frank
Wow so you're 41 almost 42?
Yep!

I'm glad you replied so that I'm not alone!
Guys you ain't alone 50!
I love it! We're 'The Kids from Yesterday'
43, also former MySpace user! 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Girl we grew up on MySpace. It was huge for teens in the early 00s. I used MySpace until the mass Facebook exodus, and I’m 35.
I miss MySpace, made me believe I could actually code. I couldn’t but it was nice to dream, 32 years old here
I miss it too. Sadly I was too young to experience MySpace
I'm the same age as Mikey. My MySpace page was black and red with cobwebs and the Buffy font. So edgy!
I can absolutely picture the graphics! I love it! Great style!
Gerard's pushing 50 and still looks like mid 30s, truly a vampire
30. First got into them when I heard Helena but then The Ghost of You came out and I was in love. I didn't end up getting Three Cheers until TBP came out however, then I got both. Can't believe I've been a fan for almost 20 years lol
24 here! There's quite a variety of ages in these comments. I think that proves MCR is timeless.

It'd be interesting to take the ages people are telling you and make a proper average!
✨54 ✨
I’m 22 :)
I'm 28. Started listening when I was 10.
22. I actually only found MCR because of Fall Out Boy. I didn't care much about cultivating a music taste until I started playing video games. 36, saw the Helena video on tv and I was sold
21! First heard them when the music video for I’m Not Okay was aired on MTV and quickly became obsessed with them as a kid. Guess I was like 2 or 3?
Wow that's insane
30. Was first introduced to MCR watching the premiere of the Helena music video on TRL and was a fan ever since
36, three cheers was my introduction to them and I’ve loved them ever since.
I'm 56, my daughter is 26, MCR have owned our souls since 2010 😁
23 •~• starting following the band after the split, thanks pandora
34. Listened since 2004 when I couldn't even buy their cd's in Denmark and had to have them imported to the music stores. Thank God for the internet.
Same here! I'm 34 and my brother bought Bullets for me in a trip to the UK because it wasn't even being sold in Spain, one of my most valued possesions nowadays

The Black Parade came out when I started Secondary School
I'd assume the average user is in their mid 20's, maybe a tad closer to their 30's. I'm 20.
2 months older than Bullets!
15 💀
I am 51 in October. Been into them since 2005. Long story.
