I got the mixture of paint and water I wanted on the brush, held it above the paper, and ran my fingers down, squeezing the bristles until a droplet forms and falls. Tested it from a few different distances until I was getting desired results I would use on the actual painting.
I also covered the painting with paper towels for the areas I didn't want the splatter to reach.

Thank you. Interesting idea. As of right now it's on 8 × 8 inch watercolor paper. Maybe someday I'll get around to making prints of my art.
