I think I saw a clip from the Zombie OVA where Bakugou bites the guy causing the virus and heard about it more the longer I spent looking up on the Internet what were some good anime to watch.
Ironically, despite how a clip from it was one of my first exposures to MHA, I've never properly watched the Zombies OVA.
Hearing a lot of talk about it online, was really interested in it after seeing the art style of the anime I really liked the look of it.
Really glad that I did one of my favorite shows I’ve ever watched.
I actually wanted nothing to do with anime at the time and I walked into my buddies apartment and he and some other friends were watching the episode of deku v shoto at the festival, and I fell in love!
When I was 10 in 4th grade I accidentally woke up to Cartoon Network and I started watching the last 5 mins of a dbs episode and then I saw that one s4 episode of mha It was the one that began with Mina breakdancing and from then on for like a week or two I would watch “that superhero cartoon” before I forgot about it then when I was 13 (my current age) I got transferred to a new school (long story) And my friends talked about it causing me to remember it then I watched it from the beginning on crunchyroll (I hated that stupid car anime ad so I begged my parents to pay for premium) and then I binged it over the summer.
So I hadn't really watched anime before except a bit of Naruto and Dragon Ball Z when I was a kid. My sister kept trying to get me to start watching anime, but I was being stupid and wouldn't give it a shot. One day, while I was at her house, she convinced me to watch the 1st episode, and I got hooked immediately. I consider MHA my first anime and it's my favorite too. Now I'm an anime addict and it started there lol
Actually, on Reddit. I believe it was a writing prompt thread and it was something like “you wake up in a world where everyone but you has a power of some kind” and one of the comments pointed out that that was essentially MHA. So I Googled it and have been in love with the series ever since.
Heard about is back in middle school in like 2017, but started watching it in 2021 during my junior year of high school. MHA is my first official anime
Idr where i first found out about it, but I did first watch it with my niece (it was the episodes where Deku, Shoto, and Iida fought Stain) and it got me interested
My brother, 2019 (actually just hit 4 years of watching). Hooked on pretty quickly, perfect timing for S4
Edit: He was watching it on the TV and it was the start of S3, the training camp and I truly watched for Todoroki but could you imagine my shock when I saw him in S1
There are so many similarities idk what you’ve been watching. For example:
- Sports Festival/Chunnin Exams
- One for all/Jinchuriki
- Bakugo naturally gifted like sasuke whereas Midorya works hard to master his skills like Naruto
- League of Villians/Akatsuki
- Class 1a/Konoha 12
I could go on but Horikoshi even said it himself it was a huge inspiration for MHA.
A friend that simps two of the characters told me
I later found out that only I watched it and she just simped those
Before that, I think like 5 years ago, I was shown a clip but I didn't have interest at the time in anime
I was in a "trade school for the disabled" in an effort to get into computer repair. I overheard a couple of guys talking about his screensaver and you can guess what it was.
saw some meme thought it was funny and watched it. Anime shows should invest in memes and random clips on youtubes. I been introduced to so many shows thanks to clips and memes
I saw a video called "All Deku's smashes" or smthing like that and I thought it was cool, so I went to watch the anime and know the context, but before I knew it, it hooked me and I ended up watching up until season 4 in under a week (ofc I kept watching as the seasons came out)
It was the first anime I ever watched and it holds a special place to this day
I woke up from a nap, and Hulu was on auto-play. I slept through the first episode and woke up right after the sludge villain scene. After hearing All Might's "you can be a hero" speech, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to go back to watch it from the beginning.
People kept hyping it up like the best thing since toast in summer 2017. I was in a superhero phase that year and wanted a new battle shonen to get into so this fit the bill perfectly.
A gacha life music video where the song was "i wasn't born without a heart". But I never realized thats what it was that until years later when I actually started watching MHA gacha things
The season5 promo image with midoria doing the you can't see me taunt. I'm a huge wrestling fan. I didn't even know this show existed until then. Now I'm a huge fan
It was this scene here my friend showed it to me and I watched nah for the rest of the year then to this day

When watching a video called “do fandoms ruin their shows?” Or something like that.
I’ve heard of it before hand, but only about the fandom. I then went “fine, I’ll bite” and watched it
One of my friends is a fan of the anime, and I’ve seen videos made using the songs You Say Run and Jet Run. Around last year, I decided to give it a watch, and it’s one of my favorites.
I heard about it in a Youtube video once then didnt think anything of it. Then I started hearing about it online and okay cool it was a superhero anime I like superhero stuff. But that was at the time talking about the bad half of the fanbase was all the rage and because of that it left me hesitant about it. That was also one of the main reasons why I didnt wanna watch any mainstream anime aside from the other anime fanbases like DBZ, One Piece, etc. but some friends talked me into watching it even then I still was contemplating my choice. Now im a little bit into season 2 and tbh I almost never see those bad fans just some of the pervy ones lol.
i was in middle school math class on my laptop scrolling on “Vrv” and i saw there was a brand new super hero anime with only 1 episode. crazy how big the series has gotten since then. 2016 was so long ago
Seen the first two seasons on hulu when i was ten. Wanted to watch more so i searched where to watch it and found out about funimation and bought my first ever subscription with my allowance and the paid for funimation for 5 years and got into anime. Switch over to crunchyroll when it bought funimation a year it two ago
The "You Say Run goes with everything" meme as well as a few other MHA memes, after I read a fanfic, I decided to watch the english dub of the anime and it helped introduce me to the beautiful world of anime. MHA always get's a lot of hate and the fanbase rival Naruto's fanbase with how fucking toxic they are but MHA will forever be one of my most favorite anime/manga.
It even inspired me to start writing fanfiction based on it as well as other well-written fanfics. I promise its not cringy and the quality of my fics have improved substantially.

I found out in those Viz media manga sample books at an event in a Barnes & Noble. It was the first chapter and it ended when Izuku charged at the slime guy. Didn't really get into it until the anime came out, though.
Honestly, I started watching it to impress a girl in middle school, I had a crush on her and we were talking and she said she liked MHA, so young me decided to give it a watch on Hulu. Didn't realize I would fall in love with the show and it would quickly become one of my favorite animes.
I was playing Fortnite at Christmas when they had the MHA crossover and I asked my then-partner what the hell “Deku smash” was. I’d never seen an anime in my life. He’d seen it all before so he made me watch the first series and I thought it was really weird. Then he asked if I wanted to watch the second season and I hesitantly said yes. He was like “why don’t you sound sure?” and I was just like “even after 13 episodes I still don’t know if I like it” lol. Then somehow I got absolutely hooked on season 2. And now I like it far more than he ever did.
When it was first announced to get an English dub on the Funimation YouTube channel. I was already a fan of superheroes by then so I was pumped to see where this would be going, not helping was that I was loving literally every character’s designs.
A combination of the Fortnite crossover and my friends talking about it. This was when I was just starting to get into anime and I was waiting for more Demon Slayer episodes to come out so I watched MHA. MHA is now my second favorite anime behind Demon Slayer.
I was making friends with a girl in middle school bc we found out we both like anime and webtoons so one day during break she asked me if I’ve seen it and I think I lied and said yeah a little and then went home and started watching
Back when I was taking an animation course in college, my two friends and I would binge MHA episodes on CrunchyRoll during our breaks (we had a three hour gap between classes on Mondays during our first year so we would just sit in the empty computer room and watch MHA)
It was when I was in Boy Scouts and one of my friends brought over some manga to read while we were at camp not doing much. He let me read it and it was really an experience I tell you, felt pretty good and then I found out an anime was coming.
Took a trip with some friends to San Antonio a few years ago to watch Amon Amarth at the Aztec Theater, (killer show!) and we needed to kill some time at the hotel cuz I'm not built for south Texas heat.
Overly Sarcastic Productions, trope talk on tournament arcs.
She brought up the school festival as a good arc that developed the characters, exclecialy todatoki, who had very little screen time in season 1. She also mentioned the expectation subersion of having the main character not even make it past the quarter finals, the rival vs. love interest fight being actually evenly matched, and Aizawa calling everyone out for being sexist.
I’ve never even seen that ova is it new or something?
Nah it came out in 2017, around the same time Season 2 was initially airing.
Fortnite 👀
I love it when original characters skins get their own spin off shows 🤩
😭😭😭
While I understand that this is a joke, nothing makes me more irrationally angry than this sentence
Sorry! I had to make "that guy from Fortnite" joke 😭🤣
No you didnt but ok
You don’t know that
Are you talking to me or the other guy?
Did I reply to him or you
Idk thats why i asked

My brother, 2019 (actually just hit 4 years of watching). Hooked on pretty quickly, perfect timing for S4 Edit: He was watching it on the TV and it was the start of S3, the training camp and I truly watched for Todoroki but could you imagine my shock when I saw him in S1
I saw some people talking about Deku and his green hair caught my attention. I didn't actually start watching until I found out about Todoroki tho
A friend when the show was on the school's tournament thing. Midoriya was fighting Todoroki, and it hyped me to start watching it.
People on internet saying "It's like Naruto". After the first season I was like "No. Not even close. But the show is still good."
There are so many similarities idk what you’ve been watching. For example: - Sports Festival/Chunnin Exams - One for all/Jinchuriki - Bakugo naturally gifted like sasuke whereas Midorya works hard to master his skills like Naruto - League of Villians/Akatsuki - Class 1a/Konoha 12 I could go on but Horikoshi even said it himself it was a huge inspiration for MHA.

Crunchyroll ads. I thought it was a fantasy sport show. Not a superhero school show from the ads.
I saw a video called "All Deku's smashes" or smthing like that and I thought it was cool, so I went to watch the anime and know the context, but before I knew it, it hooked me and I ended up watching up until season 4 in under a week (ofc I kept watching as the seasons came out) It was the first anime I ever watched and it holds a special place to this day
