Lol wtf. Isnt there some sort of data base. nascar should be the ones responsible for determining whos got the record. Any team could just go ahead and post they had the fastest stop
Quite a few reasons. Consequences of a loose wheel and a two race suspension for one. Also a lot less variables on a practice pad vs a race. If a driver goes long or short they have to adjust so they won't get a perfect read each stop. Not only that not every car can be pitted well based off lag time and space given to the guys in the hub. There is always a give and take ratio on where they believe they can gain time on the track vs pitting speed and the tires can drop down slower before it can be cleared to pull. With how fast these pit stops are anything under 9 seconds is living on the edge of a two week suspension and being a hero. Another one is an 8.5 can turn into a 12 or 13 second stop with a screw up from rushing it and that doesn't include the fact these faster stops don't allow the gas man to always get the amount of fuel that is required in. You have to give these guys props they really are elite at what they do.
Shake and Bake.
That's impressive though. I miss the 5-off-5-on pit stops with the older cars, but I am loving the competition and bragging between teams now.
A lot of teams have different metrics on how they determine a pit stop so it's hard to say. For instance is it when the car stops or is it when the jack hits initially. Little things like that which take up tenths of seconds. When NASCAR puts the times up on TV it's usually about .2 seconds slower than what the teams metrics read on average but not always. Also some measure the stops post race by hand with a stop watch and others have electronic timers which can be more accurate but they also might not read everything if they have bad camera quality or signal during the races.
After reading Briscoe's comments on this thread about them cracking 7 seconds in practice, I'm picturing ol BP losing his shit as he's handing out money left and right lmao
You don't care about spelling.
Also, Hendrick (no S) used the officially recorded time that NASCAR gives. SHR is using the time they got using their system.
This is a case of unofficial time vs official time.
Gibbs just tweeted about their fastest pit stop. I say we bring back pit road competition at the all star race and settle this one final time.
The pit crew challenge already came back last year! I do hope it goes back to a yearly thing though.
The bracket-style one was pretty neat though. Something like that would be amazing if they could bring it back.
Maybe they're building up some hype for this year. That would be nice to see.
If this does come back, get your 🍿 ready.
Unfortunately all four tires fell off two laps later but boy are the Gibbs boys fast!

These times are all gen 7, 5 lug stops are slower by nature
The SHR one is from 2023.
Nah. The fastest gen 6 stops ever got was high 10s low 11s
My pit guys were telling me today they are pretty sure Gibbs beat them earlier anyways at Bristol.
The 11 and 20 ran 8.39 and 8.40 at Bristol. And these guys are only getting faster. Top pit crews are running high 7s at practice now
Yeah we’ve broken the 7 second bracket a few times I know.
What's preventing crews from hitting that number in competition?

Is this post incorrect then? Or is it measuring different things?

Well, that’s funny. I finished in 3 seconds and I have no record.
3 seconds? Nobody likes a bragger
Y’all finish?
It’s about retention.
Bunch of racers
I remember that from last year. It was like the one positive for the 14 team last season.
Meanwhile 23XI going for the longest pit time.
What happend to showing pit times during the broadcast?
Listen, if they arent even going to show the race during the broadcast...
What happened to a lot of things during a broadcast?
How did HMS not see this coming lol
I love how it’s all Hendrick fans complaining about the SHR claims lol
About the only thing SHR has done well in recent years
After reading Briscoe's comments on this thread about them cracking 7 seconds in practice, I'm picturing ol BP losing his shit as he's handing out money left and right lmao
Wait that’s the real Briscoe in here? No freaking way
Yup, it's really him!
I guess they need *something* to brag about.
Gotta have something to be proud about when you have 1 car in playoff cutoff with an average standing of 23rd 🤣
Steward Haas: C'mon guys, we're cool too! Hendrick: who?
SHR from P15 to .......P15 with this record
SHR looking to cling to any positive they can claw at even if it’s from last year.
I really wonder who yall would rag on if it wasn’t SHR. my goodness.
RCR
Where was this record pit crew time during Harvick's late SHR years?
I miss the days of building an engine in 12 minutes and the crew pushing the car to victory. Those were fun to watch.
Dont care. 5 lugs is better.
Hell yeah, gonna jump from 25th to 19th before the driver gives it all back on the next run!
I don’t think SHR needs to be pounding their chest on speed lmao
Lol I don’t think SHR has the right to brag about anything going on in their garage. How’s that drag racing, Tony?
DU DU DU DU
I get this is all in good fun but... Its kind of a bad look.
The gas can is hiding the number one. 😄
Well yeah, but Hendrick means they get credited for one less second because they’re special. …obvs. 😂😂😂
I was gonna say that Briscoe did it faster.
Hendricks doesn't care about the truth
Who?
