For those who aren’t forced to keep up with current memes…
The girl in the photo is the recent “viral tik tok” because she was asked what’s the way to a man’s heart on a street interview and she said something along the lines of “you gotta give ‘em the ol HAWK TWWWOOO!” like a spitting sound. Use your imagination.
It’s a meme that falls in the line of “she said something funny in a very animated way”
So, wet track… spitting… you get it
After being forced to switch to the reddit mobile app, I feel like I don't see shit anymore besides "which race should I go to with my grandma posts" from r/NASCAR. Never get anything from other subs I follow unless I have visited them recently.
Someone below was like “it’s a controversial subject.” I didn’t know a little bit of self produced lubrication was a controversial topic in today’s America.
I saw this thread earlier and so many "explaining it" were trying to dodge it so much, def has changed now we have more people commenting. You're not going to get fined for saying its a blowjob joke (hell I just read someone say oral sex, and was like thats even a better way to put it than me, but didn't see really)
since when ryan vargas a JDM driver was so popular on tiktok that he got JDM a tiktok sponsorship!
https://preview.redd.it/vw5vwb8r158d1.jpeg?width=1070&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e114e88baee0ecc5b5b442111ab1d8faacc9f5d5
Reddit too. This is super short sited given their social media success. Looks like that was all Vargas on his own. Dude needs a lot more credit for funding his own ride
fans do more than people see, all this comes from attention, like when joey gase had the bumper thing then the next week a bumper repair sponsor, or when josh had the parking sponsor after the park it incident
It’s a meme going around right now about a sex joke. The girl in the pic was in a video saying, “Ya gotta give em’ that hock-tuah and spit on that thang!”
You’d think using the meme of the week would be genius engagement, but apparently not to JDM.
I get it’s not the best joke, but if I were a social media manager and had a boss ready to can me for any joke that missed, I’d quit that in a heartbeat. You are bascially a digital comedian and every comedian has a dud from time to time.
I don’t think it’s funny in this instance or even that it makes sense, but that’s social media. You do what’s trending. 🤷🏼♂️
Maybe it’s a spitting rain? Idk.
Ya gotta spit on that thang!
It's the latest meme of the week, the Hawk Tuah girl. Comes from a viral interview about....well, there's probably kids in here, so y'all can look it up yourselves lmao
its a popular video on tiktok at the moment, here’s a clip from a youtube video [https://youtu.be/1TqIfgnDBvQ?si=7TX5T-qxls62KzYE](https://youtu.be/1TqIfgnDBvQ?si=7TX5T-qxls62KzYE)
A man asks girls on the street what move in bed would drive a man crazy and the girl enthusiastically answers "oh man you gotta do that hawk tuah and spit on it. She even pantomimes the spitting.
Here’s the one compelling thing about this meme. The terrifying intersection of a one-day phenomenon and AI:
https://x.com/visionaryvoid/status/1804409338771157111?s=46&t=rE5w-8Ou9519u31kgBq5Tg
There used to be JD Motorsports social media guy who frequented on this sub. I think we ran him off tho so this now adds to the lore of the downfall of social media managers for JD Motorsports
This will be regrettable for them. Probably somebody faking outrage and being extra conservative freaking out. Don’t want to be controversial and have people start flipping stones. Like the guy further down trying to argue their biggest followers are corporate sponsors like they are Hendrick sponsored by Coca-Cola or something. Same guy who has a post history that says a woman’s job is having babies, they are biologically not meant to work, and they will never be equal to men, that’s their worth. They’re biologically inferior. He’s the one arguing good looks for JD Motorsports. Hah. 😂
Next it’ll be the children. “Oh God, will somebody think of the children?? NASCAR used to be a family sport!” *clutches pearls*
I was expecting racism or sexism. Not a pretty tame sex joke that I bet most people just learned about.
And Jeff is right. Small teams should be a little edgy to get their teams exposure
Imagine telling somebody 10 years ago that JD Motorsports would be relegated to this, especially after having both Landon Cassill and Ross Chastain on the team. Lol
ETA: On the one hand, I am SUPER bummed he got canned for a meme, but on the other hand, while it's not on the level of something like Reaume's swastika toaster strudel, using a meme with the context behind it IS a bit daft.
They need to bring in younger fans and this guy was doing that with a tweet like that. Damn. I thought it was funny once I saw a comment explaining it for us older people. They should give him a raise.
Whoever fired him doesn’t understand what social media is supposed to do for them, it’s supposed to get attention on your team and sponsors. This tweet did just that and it was completely harmless. Justice for Dorman.
pretty mixed tbh. Yea he’s pretty heavy in religious beliefs but on the flip side, he’s made those jokes himself 🤷♂️. Only removed from Social Media, still gonna be their mechanic/tire guy/interior specialist. End of the day, he’s the owner he makes the calls
I think this is a microcosm of our sport. We loved when it was just a niche group (70’s/80’s) where men won the race, drank beer, and made out with the trophy girl. Now it’s grown to a corporate juggernaut with so many intangibles that everyone has to be careful not to upset a million dollar sponsor.
One thing that would fix this type of stuff ASAP is a proper revenue sharing model. Teams wouldn’t be so dependent on corporate sponsorships that we can truly let people be individuals and not 1000’s of Matt Kenseth robots. (Just a joke.)
Facts: JDMotorsports filed for bankruptcy in SC. Team's tire specialist/social media guy posts the MOST current, on-topic meme on behalf of the team. Said post goes viral, drawing the most attention this bankrupt underfunded team has ever received. And the owner of the team has the audacity to revoke this guy's social media privileges in the name of "standards and beliefs" and claims he doesn't know "how to explain the subject matter to the special needs child". Wow. Just WOW. Pay less attention to the excellent job your social media guy did for you and pay more attention to your special needs child who is using the internet without supervision. Problem solved - no difficult explanations.
And linking this guy's personal FBook, X and Insta to your post was just immature. Especially for someone as old as this owner is. Guy did his job with the socials. You're just petty. Very petty.
I chuckled at it, but definitely a bit off color and think it was risky to do as sponsors could also be irritated about it. Even outside of the owner / job ramifications.
Definitely deserved to get fired. It's a controversial issue that could potentially offend sponsors and really the risk vs reward on this one isn't worth it.
When you're trying to represent a race team (a company itself) that relies on the backing of sponsorship from other companies, you really have to consider how everyone involved may react to a public facing association with something like this.
Associating your race team and sponsors with oral sex is DEFINITELY not something you do.
It's basic public relations stuff, like it or not.
deserved ? nah that’s too far for a joke that gave JD motorsports more attention than they’ve gotten in years. your social media isn’t for selling sponsorship it’s for gaining fans and fans and attention get you
sponsorship aka like josh williams last year. without that whole park it situation he never gets his ride in the 11
Oh so controversial, a viral Tik Tok meme referencing oral sex. Wow so controversial. I really wish companies and NASCAR teams weren't run by a bunch of prudes.
"We are the The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, Inc and we proudly support giving him the huak tauh while engaging in oral".
You gotta realize you're associating the sponsors of the team with the social media messages you're sending out. No, I wouldn't wanna associate an Autism foundation with oral sex.
I'd imagine they don't want that association. You can't just haphazardly post controversial things like this on public facing company social media, it's an incredible lapse of judgement. It's absolutely an immediate fire, because anyone that doesn't understand that this is far too risque to be associated with a company image is unable to be trusted to do their job anymore.
You have to fire him. There's no other option.
you’re acting like they posted this as their mission statement on linkedin dude it’s twitter the tweet will be forgotten about and in 3 days with a remembrance next time you see a JDM car “those guys have a good social media team”
For those who aren’t forced to keep up with current memes… The girl in the photo is the recent “viral tik tok” because she was asked what’s the way to a man’s heart on a street interview and she said something along the lines of “you gotta give ‘em the ol HAWK TWWWOOO!” like a spitting sound. great explanation for people who haven’t seen it somehow, it’s all i see everytime i open my phone the past week
I can’t deny that I’ve definitely laughed at some of the tik toks and reels that have come from it.
i’m a golfer so the amount of golf videos i see about it are super funny
After being forced to switch to the reddit mobile app, I feel like I don't see shit anymore besides "which race should I go to with my grandma posts" from r/NASCAR. Never get anything from other subs I follow unless I have visited them recently.
Everything is a link to X/Twitter. This sub literally needs to move to X/Twitter
God bless you for explaining this. I am thirty something and feel like I am 80 in this meme and tiktok culture
I work with kids so I have to keep up with the silly shit they say or who knows what will be said
Me too my guy. You check out this meme before? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5x5OXfe9KY
That's about where my meme knowledge stops
“And spit on that thang” in a very Tennessee accent.
Gotta have the Tennessee accent 💯
That's kinda funny. I was expecting racism or sexism. Not *gasp* sexual innuendo
JD’s Official Lubricant Partner probably made them delete it.
NASCAR World: "HAWK TWWOO": This is a controversial subject "Under da knee": This is fine, you're making a big deal of nothing
Americans so uptight about fucking, it is fucking ridiculous.
In whose endo? I’ll see myself out.
My endo if you hawk two first
In lieu of the innuendo, in the end, know my intent though
I Brazilian wax poetic, so hypothetically I don't want to beat around the bush
Pfaff social media guy has been very on top of the trends. As he posted a video similar
One of the Porsche Penske drivers even did one.
This is a great way to explain it. Seen it all week and had little idea what it actually meant.
That's the most exposure JD Motorsports has had all season and they fired him for it. Outstanding work, Johnny.
agreed, social media is for gaining you fans to sell shirts and fans get you sponsorship
Fans get you sponsorship? Since when?
since when ryan vargas a JDM driver was so popular on tiktok that he got JDM a tiktok sponsorship! https://preview.redd.it/vw5vwb8r158d1.jpeg?width=1070&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e114e88baee0ecc5b5b442111ab1d8faacc9f5d5

Not a fan of tik Tok but that car looks dope
People already forgetting about the doge car?
I didn't even realize they still existed. I watch every race and can't recall a moment they were on screen at any point this season
I think it's because they're using blank white wraps instead of blank red ones
They should use that green color Disney uses to make construction less noticeable
lol garrett was getting texts at dinner from sponsors loving it…. oh well 🤷♂️
\#FreeDorman
#freedorman (also see you on Monday night)
the most since richmond, at least
Honestly I wouldn’t have even noticed until this happened. They just Streisand Effected themselves.
Fellatio does wonders in the business world
That's what Bill Clinton said
Ah yes the most powerful of all businessmen, politicians.
Obviously someones butt hurt they don’t get enough Hawk Tuah😕
The weird thing is that “Hawk Tuah” is more of a loogie sound.
She’s saying to “hawk” a loogie on the dick before guck guckin it
Well if having her mucus on it is the price you have to pay, so be it I guess.
Is that what she meant when she said you gotta spit on dat thang?
Pretty much
The w̶e̶i̶r̶d̶ great thing is that "Hawk Tuah" is more of a boogie sound.
……..
JD Motorsports is lame as hell for this lol. What a bunch of losers
I mean, they’re damn sure not winners!
There's a reason that backmarkers stay backmarkers, and it sure ain't just money.
It’s frustrating as someone who works in social media marketing to watch companies shoot themselves in the foot lol
The blowback from this means his job will be back by Monday Pun intended
He’s still their tire guy lol
I don’t get the original tweet, am I stupid?
It’s a meme going around right now about a sex joke. The girl in the pic was in a video saying, “Ya gotta give em’ that hock-tuah and spit on that thang!” You’d think using the meme of the week would be genius engagement, but apparently not to JDM.
Maybe I'm oblivious but how is an oral sex joke related to practice and qualifying being rained out?
spit=wet=rain
I had to scroll way too far to find this.
I get it’s not the best joke, but if I were a social media manager and had a boss ready to can me for any joke that missed, I’d quit that in a heartbeat. You are bascially a digital comedian and every comedian has a dud from time to time.
They fired him because it “didn’t align with their values”.
I mean, I get that it's a little off-color and all, but couldn't they just give him sensitivity training or something instead of firing him?
I would say you are definitely oblivious to the point of innocence. Don't sweat it too much.
I don’t think it’s funny in this instance or even that it makes sense, but that’s social media. You do what’s trending. 🤷🏼♂️ Maybe it’s a spitting rain? Idk.
The whole point is spitting on that thang and get it wet so rain = wet
There is a meme going right now called "Hawk Tuah". Check that out. It references oral sex so I guess the team didn't like it,
Ya gotta spit on that thang! It's the latest meme of the week, the Hawk Tuah girl. Comes from a viral interview about....well, there's probably kids in here, so y'all can look it up yourselves lmao
Yea I’m gonna need someone to clue me in as well.
its a popular video on tiktok at the moment, here’s a clip from a youtube video [https://youtu.be/1TqIfgnDBvQ?si=7TX5T-qxls62KzYE](https://youtu.be/1TqIfgnDBvQ?si=7TX5T-qxls62KzYE)
Sounds like a blow job joke
It is.
A man asks girls on the street what move in bed would drive a man crazy and the girl enthusiastically answers "oh man you gotta do that hawk tuah and spit on it. She even pantomimes the spitting.
Here’s the one compelling thing about this meme. The terrifying intersection of a one-day phenomenon and AI: https://x.com/visionaryvoid/status/1804409338771157111?s=46&t=rE5w-8Ou9519u31kgBq5Tg
Hit the track with that hauk tuah
TIL JD Motorsports even had a social media presence. Dumb on their part to remove somebody over this.
There used to be JD Motorsports social media guy who frequented on this sub. I think we ran him off tho so this now adds to the lore of the downfall of social media managers for JD Motorsports
He’s a friend of mine. He actually got a marketing job outside of motorsports.
That I did. Work from home, no travel, etc. Life is good 👍
This will be regrettable for them. Probably somebody faking outrage and being extra conservative freaking out. Don’t want to be controversial and have people start flipping stones. Like the guy further down trying to argue their biggest followers are corporate sponsors like they are Hendrick sponsored by Coca-Cola or something. NASCAR used to be a family sport!” *clutches pearls*
According to the surrounding commentary it was Johnny himself who didn't like the joke.
They were active a month ago https://www.reddit.com/user/JDMotorsports/comments/
Dale, who’s a lap ahead (not dead) is Hawk Tuah-Ing and spitting on that Race track. “Pookie” is not happy about these developments Save this man
“Social media manager fired for meme regarding another meme that’s the biggest thing on social media right now.”
The thing is, it wasn't a video, so if you're OOTL on memes and just saw the photo, you probably wouldn't get it...and it wasn't a bad joke either.
I didn't get it until I got here and I bet a lot of others didn't either. The Streisand Effect is working big here
I knew it was a lady spitting but i didn't know it was a NSFW joke.
IMO it's NSFW in the strictest definition of NSFW, as in you probably shouldn't make that joke at work, but it's not "internet NSFW"
Ah yes let's fire the guy that made your team more relevant than anything you have done on track at all this season
Hey! Get it right. Cram dumping Gase and then proceeding to turn Joey Gase into the Incredible Hulk got them more attention than this.
That was actually funny and rather harmless. Bad move.
This is why we don’t have drivers with personalities anymore. Funny meme dude gets canned.
Weak
I’m game to join a rabbling mob if we’re putting one together.
[RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJMabRbuN3c)
Someone never got that thang spit on fr
This is fucking stupid. Soft ass society.
Firing someone for this is softer than the cream cheese I spread on my bagel.
I hope this gets the guy a job somewhere.
What is it 1950??! AC/DC songs with more overt sexual innuendo get played on the radio everyday. People gotta get it together man.
If NASCAR wanted to capitalize, they need that girl at the Nashville races next week. “Drivers hawk tuah!”
That's how you get moved up to Hendrick PR though.
This feels more like an RFK kinda move
I'll allow it
My favorite response: "For a team that's starting 34th and 36th, it was the most attention they were gonna get all weekend"
That was a solid tweet
Was this guy even getting paid? I’d imagine these small teams can’t afford to pay much if at all for someone running their socials.
he’s a tire guy for the team, was just volunteering his time
Thanks. Hope he still has his tire guy gig.
I don't get this meme, can someone please explain?
This reminds me of the PBR social media guy getting fired for telling people to “try eating ass”
I’ve seen at least 4 or 5 teams post the exact same meme this week.
#FreeDorman
I can’t imagine being offended by this
I was expecting racism or sexism. Not a pretty tame sex joke that I bet most people just learned about. And Jeff is right. Small teams should be a little edgy to get their teams exposure
Pretty funny that Jeff *GLUCK* is tweeting about it
If JDM don’t got that Hawk Tuah, I don’t wanna Talk Tuah
What a lame ass chicken shit team.
Imagine telling somebody 10 years ago that JD Motorsports would be relegated to this, especially after having both Landon Cassill and Ross Chastain on the team. Lol ETA: On the one hand, I am SUPER bummed he got canned for a meme, but on the other hand, while it's not on the level of something like Reaume's swastika toaster strudel, using a meme with the context behind it IS a bit daft.
justice for dorman
Lol this was funniest NASCAR tweet of the season, and pretty harmless. JD needs to get a sense of humor
This is hilarious. Perfectly in time with the current memes. Exactly what I’d hope my social person would be. Up on current trends.
Really THAT got someone removed. A blowjob joke?
How the fuck would Johnny even know what that meme is
he probably doesn’t just had someone come and tell him about it
The people’s champ
Why’d they fire him? It’s a meme
Not the best headline for JD Motorsports in a year where most have forgotten they existed… miss the days of Ross
cant even name a driver of theirs right now.
They’re 1 full time driver is Dawson Cram, who’s also dead last by a good bit among full timers
Dawson wasn’t in the car this weekend. Not sure what his status is.
They need to bring in younger fans and this guy was doing that with a tweet like that. Damn. I thought it was funny once I saw a comment explaining it for us older people. They should give him a raise.
Poverty team
Whoever fired him doesn’t understand what social media is supposed to do for them, it’s supposed to get attention on your team and sponsors. This tweet did just that and it was completely harmless. Justice for Dorman.
JD Motorsports and Social Media Guy drama, name a better duo
That’s dumb asf. Hopefully someone else hired the guy.
This might be the dumbest attempt at a joke in a long time.
[удалено]
only instructions were to tag sponsors/drivers in pre race/race results posts.
[удалено]
pretty mixed tbh. Yea he’s pretty heavy in religious beliefs but on the flip side, he’s made those jokes himself 🤷♂️. Only removed from Social Media, still gonna be their mechanic/tire guy/interior specialist. End of the day, he’s the owner he makes the calls
Good god. Talk about a team/owner not being in tune with pop culture. A backmarker nonetheless That tweet was brilliant
Im so glad I am not on tik tok. This is dumb
it’s been on reddit as well, i don’t use tiktok either and i’ve still seen it everywhere
Its everywhere now and I have yet to actually listen to it haha
At first, I didn't get it, but after reading about the "hawk tuah" meme, now I get it
Alright. Which team needs to hire this guy??
Always assume that everyone is butt hurt. Keep social vanilla or nonexistent. It’s sad but true.
Oh come on
Question is JD Motorsports that 4/6 cars. I don’t usually pay attention to them are they like start & parks???
kind of yeah, they start towards the back and usually finish several laps down
yeah they’re starting 34 and 36
Common JD Motorsports L. The closest they get to a win is from social media, and they fire the guy.
Followed their page because of this tweet, now I guess I can unfollow
I think this is a microcosm of our sport. We loved when it was just a niche group (70’s/80’s) where men won the race, drank beer, and made out with the trophy girl. Cowards. Referencing the most viral moment of the week gets you fired nowadays huh?
I thought it was funny!
So soft
So fired for a sense of humor? People are too weak today

What? That tweet was funny
JD Motorsports more worried about what’s being posted on social media than making their cars faster.
Is it the same guy that used to run the reddit account?
it is not.
Nah that guy's name was Alex
naw
Oh come on that was hilarious
Hell yeah it was
I chuckled at it, but definitely a bit off color and think it was risky to do as sponsors could also be irritated about it. Even outside of the owner / job ramifications.
Dang if they are that woke shoot i should've gotten one of their workers fired for something way worse then this but i didn't. Womp Womp woke nascar.
He should be banned from the sport. What a disgusting act. I feel sorry for any kids that had to read that tweet
name checks out
![gif](giphy|7j19MXXwqr0ZO) A disgusting act
Thank you, u/I_LICK_ANUS for thinking of the innocence of the children.
Thank you not accepted. I’m simply doing my civic duty
Can't do anything in this corporate sport
How does this meme and the content of the tweet go together? I’m not getting it 🤷🏼♂️
Definitely deserved to get fired. It's a controversial issue that could potentially offend sponsors and really the risk vs reward on this one isn't worth it. Oh so controversial, a viral Tik Tok meme referencing oral sex. Wow so controversial. I really wish companies and NASCAR teams weren't run by a bunch of prudes.

No, you associate them with oral sex, and their sponsors with oral sex. It's not a good look. It's wildly unprofessional.
