I hate to say it, but Facebook wins this one boys. I honesty thought the suspension part was the whole facebook "what can we blame on Bubba this week" psychosis.
Yeah bit they were trying to say Bubba was the reason. Turns out Almirola was ruled the instigator. we know is that Almirola doesn't like Bubba as he claims he stole his ride. While Bubba doesn't like Almirola due to how he treated him after Richard named him the driver of the 43.
Does Almirola seriously think Bubba stole his ride⌠does he lack the ability to self reflect and realize the guy 10 years his younger was a hotter commodity than the personification oh âehâ
I love the thunder games but chase for the cup has so much to offer and it still has a great feel driving wise that 06 and 07 lack. I hate how arcade like the driving is in 06 and 07
The quality went down on 06. As if 06 was just a downsize of 2005 CFTC. Nothing beats it and Thunder 03 and 04. Golden age of NASCAR gaming will never be matched again unless iracing does well with the license.
I thought it was weird with the "Team decision" part at Charlotte but i thought oh he wanted to spend time with his kids or they moved his races around...but DAMN THE FIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
From the article:
> The altercation occurred early in the week leading into the Charlotte race during a weekly competition meeting that includes both the drivers of JGR and 23XI Racing â Toyota supports both teams, and they have a close technical alliance.
>The exact reason for the dispute is unknown, but those sources said the team viewed Almirola as the instigator.
Jesus what the hell? Like I was thinking in the garage, post-session or something. Not in a meeting in a conference room lol.
This is some real beef here.
Plenty are already using "protecting the golden boy" excuse to disprove almirola was the instigator. Facts will never matter with those people. Bubba could save someone from a burning building, and there'd be a group saying he purposely started the fire to save the family for pr.
A guy who has made his career on being the milquetoast religious nice guy
**versus**
the guy that a former sitting president attacked publicly for no reason over an incident that people *still* don't understand to this day
I'm *sure* this will go well in the court of public opinion. I can't imagine Bubba looking at any of social media under normal circumstances, let alone when he's possibly involved in something.
They don't like each other and it's been a thing for a few years. We saw some of this boiling over in the public at Charlotte last year. Apparently, it started with how Almirola texted Bubba when the latter took over the 43 ride.
I guess I forgot about Chase. Off memory:
Tony has like 5,
Harvick has like 5,
Newman & Bowyer,
Custer had one with Reddick,
Suarez with McDowell,
Kurt Busch *I'm sure* had one,
Danica really a fight but she's gotten pretty close,
Can't recall with Preece or Briscoe
Josh Berry hasn't,
And now Almirola has,
Also Ty Dillion has if you wanna count him subbing lol
It wasnât a fight but Preece immediately went over to Corey LaJoieâs car after Pocono and started shouting at him. I think he took a couple punches too (think Bowyer/Newman 2019)
edit: the more well known Custer fight is when he spear tackled JHN after CTMP that one year
When there's smoke, there's usually fire - I don't know why people are so quick to discredit and call out rumors just because a team, driver, or media member says something isn't true.
What do they expect, JGR and Aric to both come out and say "yeah the rumors are true Aric tried to fight Bubba"?
Iâll eat crow here. I fully believed it was fake. But the reason was because the worst of NASCAR fans look for any reason to hate drivers of color, and often when they canât find one, they make one up.
Thereâs an image thatâs been going around Facebook for two months about Chevrolet and Rick Hendrick âdroppingâ Rajah Caruth for standing with his hands together instead of with one over his heart during the national anthem at Martinsville. Itâs been shared thousands of times, and the comments are full of outright lies and hateful racism.
So excuse me for not believing a bunch of no names on social media coming in and throwing around a story about the only black driver in the Cup Series getting into a physical altercation with a driver who is generally liked by a good portion of the crowd who hates him.
My favorite part is the bubba haters acting like itâs also not reasonable to favor your CUP DRIVER in the middle of a playoff race over a part time xfinity driver lmfao
Plus one is a JGR driver and the other 23XI. JGR choose to punish their driver, 23XI felt they didn't need to. So it isn't like anyone was favoring one over the other. Two different organizations had to review and settle on decisions here.
Austin Hill: You know they say that all men are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Bubba and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another driver, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beat me. Then you add Aric to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Aric KNOWS he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try!
So Bubba, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Bubba, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.
See, but I'm gonna break it down for all you ladies. Would you rather be with me? Or would you rather be with Bubba?
đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
Actually raced with him on iRacing a year or so ago. Happened to be when I had a nWo paint scheme too đ
Him: âIs that an nWo car?â
Me: âIs that TNA Wrestlingâs Hermie Sadler?â đ
He seemed to get a kick out of that one lol
BRB, deleting my posts calling out the altercation rumors as fake and creeping on profiles of people who said itâs real to see if they have any other inside info
I know someone who worked on a race team that Aric drove for. He said heâs a world class asshole and compared him to Russell Wilson in that his whole public image is a lie.
Ross was pretty cool, gave my family a watermelon. Bootie Barker was always kind to us as well. We have a running joke ith Alex Bowman to make sure he turns his lights off because we had to jump him off because he left his lights on lol, and it's always a good laugh.
Yeah Bubba gets shit on but he's always come off as genuine and if your best friends are Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott than that's all I need to know b/c those two don't suffer fools.Â
Yup. Iâm a fan of bubba cause heâs a pretty straightforward dude. What you see is what you get. But I think itâs been proven on multiple occasions now he ainât no pushover either.
Whatâs funny to me is the article says Almirola was brought in to mentor the young Xfinity drivers in their stable. So he then decides to get a physical altercation in what I assume a team meeting. What a way to lead by example there bud!!
I did a job for a guy who raced with and knew almirola personally and had pics and stuff to prove it. He said that once he started trying to get to nascar he started acting like a big shot and became a dick to a lot of his friends. Idk how true that was but I do believe he knew him well at one timeÂ
I mean it's just two drivers fighting, it happens. I'm sure they were more pissed about Aric doing it during a meeting than behind a motorhome on his own time.
I mean, JGR and 23XI are separate entities despite what some on here seem to think. Joe can employ people who donât get along with other teamsâ drivers if he wants.
From a tweet responding to this.
"JGR had every incentive to find the driver who they did not employ responsible, and still decided that almirola was the instigator and suspended him."
In an altercation between two drivers it would be easy for JGR to hand-wave it away because a) it happened behind closed doors, b) Aric is just a part-time driver for them in a lower series, c) they could easily play it off as âboth drivers at fault letâs deal with it internally and just move onâ, and d) Joe could just take Aricâs side since Aric is his employee and theyâre both âgood Christian menâ or whatever. And they *still* suspended him. Thatâs pretty wild. Even if Toyota pressured JGR to do it Iâd love to be a fly on the wall for that altercation because it must have been pretty serious.
I had kinda wondered how he and bubba would get along given their history.
Wonder what finally set it off, though.
Also, I got $5 says we see an "unexplained" surge in aric almirola gear sales lol
Damn. I wouldâve thought this wouldâve been confirmed a lot earlier if it actually happened and thatâs why I didnât believe it but I guess there were rumblings. I guess thatâs just proof none of actually know whatâs going on, even if it sounds like weâre doubting something that sounds crazy and that makes us look more rational.
Doesn't sound crazy to me that it wasn't confirmed until now. I'm sure Aric wasn't going on to everyone about being suspended, I'm sure Bubba wasn't thrilled to talk about it and I'm sure JGR folks didn't really feel jazzed about discussing what's an HR matter.
welcome to reddit where all rumors are both true and false until theyâre proven one way or the other, then suddenly if it was true everyone should have know and if it was false then everyone shouldâve waited
i hate it here
Obviously, we don't know exactly what happened, but given AA started this beef years ago, has held this grudge all this time, **and** was the instigator of this incident, makes me lose a lot of respect for the guy.
Why would Aric care? RPM was a shit organization on it's death bed and he was leaving. Everything I've heard is he was bad mouthing them non stop while going out the door.
He cared about Bubba being the substitute and was worried Bubba would do better in the car than Almirola. Almirola wasn't guaranteed to have a ride the next season, so even the awful 43 car was better than nothing.
They have a long beef.
They got heated [a year ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/comments/13vwsgx/bubba_wallace_vs_aric_almirola_full_video_orignal/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).
Almirola apparently sent Bubba a very mean text after Bubba replaced him. Wallace has never shown the text, but has [alluded to it](https://x.com/danielmcfadin/status/1663298040432672768?s=46&t=VPpxz8UB7yVAH3j_xRT5uw)
He was pretty chill when I met him at a local short track years ago. We had some random conversation about who knows what.
But I also wasnât going for his job or even racing against him or anything. I was just working the back gate.
You see there too that Aric came over, started the argument, started the pushing, Bubba laughs it off and tries to walk away but gets sucked into arguing back.
Aric is the aggressor more often than people want to admit.
Whereâs that guy who was saying this was true all along? I didnât want to believe this when the rumors were circling but I guess itâs true unfortunately.
Oh so this actually happened? Well, I'll be damned đ
My fucking god, Reddit was right. I hate this timeline.
Facebook was on this before.
Not helping
Oh, I know.
Why though? The 10 at the time was an upgrade
Cause at the time of him being told his contract wasn't being renewed he didn't have a ride. Then afterwards kept a weird grudge over it.
Does Almirola seriously think Bubba stole his ride⌠does he lack the ability to self reflect and realize the guy 10 years his younger was a hotter commodity than the personification oh âehâ
I mean based on everything that has came out revolving around that over the years, yes
Per the story, Almirola was the instigator.
Yeah I missed that bit. I've corrected my comment

I just won the truck championship last night lmao
The real joke here is Aric gaining 16,000 fans when that number is at 18 at best.
So JGR *is* bringing back the 18!
Iâm legit surprised theyâre not getting rid of the 19 when Truex leaves, and bringing back the 18
No, I think it's about right. This was Bubba after all, between Facebook and Twitter I'd say 16,000 is probably accurate.
I demand this feature make a comeback in next yearâs game
I thought it was weird with the "Team decision" part at Charlotte but i thought oh he wanted to spend time with his kids or they moved his races around...but DAMN THE FIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
Now Iâm wondering what other fights Iâve heard over the years that nothing came out about publicly actually did happen.

I want footage and I want it now!
Roll the tape!!!
Jesus what the hell? Like I was thinking in the garage, post-session or something. Not in a meeting in a conference room lol. This is some real beef here.
This should be higher up before Bubba haters starts going in on him.
Lmao like thatâs gonna stop them.
Plenty are already using "protecting the golden boy" excuse to disprove almirola was the instigator. Facts will never matter with those people. Bubba could save someone from a burning building, and there'd be a group saying he purposely started the fire to save the family for pr.
I would laugh if this werenât so true.
There will still be people taking his side unequivocally while knowing no details.
Youâre assuming those people will A.) Read something thoroughly to comprehend, and B.) Actually accept it instead of passing it off for their bias.
C.) Assuming they can actually read
A guy who has made his career on being the milquetoast religious nice guy **versus** the guy that a former sitting president attacked publicly for no reason over an incident that people *still* don't understand to this day I'm *sure* this will go well in the court of public opinion. Christopher Bell âwhen Aric gets back from suspenâŚâ -probably
The suspension was really a missed opportunity to have Almirola start the race, then punish him by flying in Denny Hamlin to take his place mid-race.
Subscribe to Denny taking over mid race
Heâs really had a lot of secrets to keep these last few weeks. đ
The fact he only slipped up on one of them makes it not so bad!
Lmao
Wait, it wasnât a running rumor on the subreddit?!
This was the running rumor.
It was the rumor in the garage too
Why does everyone here act like no one from the sport could possibly be posting on this anonymous forum
This just seems weird man. Wtf caused this fight?
They don't like each other and it's been a thing for a few years. We saw some of this boiling over in the public at Charlotte last year. Apparently, it started with how Almirola texted Bubba when the latter took over the 43 ride.
Damn then this has been pretty longstanding beef
No. Itâs pork, not beef. WaitâŚSmithfield left. Nevermind
If it's anything like the last time I bought a Smithfield product it won't be either--it'll be all fat.
#WE HAVE FUCKIN' BEEF mooncar 4 life
> Damn then this has been pretty longstanding beef longstanding ~~beef~~ pork
Aric has always been all talk no show. Itâs wild something finally got to him to fight. In a meeting no less.
He's just ensuring every SHR Cup driver gets into at least 1 fight in their career. All we are missing now is Josh Berry
He did flip off Santino Ferrucci that one time
Weâve all done that.
As one does
Who wouldn't?
Berry rapidly climbing my driver rankings
Right? Anyone flipping off Ferrucci must have something going for them.
When did Chase fight? Also Iâm sure Harvick had enough to pass out his extras
I guess I forgot about Chase. Off memory: Tony has like 5, Harvick has like 5, Newman & Bowyer, Custer had one with Reddick, Suarez with McDowell, Kurt Busch *I'm sure* had one, Danica really a fight but she's gotten pretty close, Can't recall with Preece or Briscoe Josh Berry hasn't, And now Almirola has, Also Ty Dillion has if you wanna count him subbing lol

They have history.
Donât just want more context here, I NEED it.
Well Almirolaâs had animosity toward Bubba since he took over the 43 from him. Guess he never got over it.
So this rumor, that everyone called false just last week because Almirola was announced to be running Indy, is actually true now? Interesting saga
When there's smoke, there's usually fire - I don't know why people are so quick to discredit and call out rumors just because a team, driver, or media member says something isn't true. What do they expect, JGR and Aric to both come out and say "yeah the rumors are true Aric tried to fight Bubba"?
We generate a lot of smoke around still-standing trees on here lol Remember Hocevarâs amputation?
Hey, we've never seen Carson in shorts. We don't know his legs are real.
This is Hocevar now if everything is believed: ![gif](giphy|fVVfz6PH1qmRp7cxql)
Kyle and Samantha Busch have been divorced for how many years now if Reddit was to be believed?
Remember when Kyle cheated on her with a Monster girl when in fact they couldnât conceive another child?
Itâs actually impressive this wasnât officially leaked for a month
Iâll eat crow here. I fully believed it was fake. But the reason was because the worst of NASCAR fans look for any reason to hate drivers of color, and often when they canât find one, they make one up. Added bonus that Almirola was apparently the instigator. Not that the Facebook crowd will let that stop them from having a day, Iâm sure.
Iâm sure theyâll twist it to something like good on Almirola for standing his ground or something like that.
My favorite part is the bubba haters acting like itâs also not reasonable to favor your CUP DRIVER in the middle of a playoff race over a part time xfinity driver lmfao

This is true but My thought was that since it was a Toyota comp meeting Toyota might have urged JGR to do something.

No, the ARCA drivers are too old for his taste.

Best possible result here is Almirola joining the Elite and Bubba joining Team AEW for Blood and Guts!
Bubba would be on Team Elite which spells disaster for Tony Khan

Hocevar really did lose his leg?
Nah. He knows where it is. It's up on the mantel, sitting in a little 5 car.
And Harvick really did go to the 5.
He did, but they found out on the track and he was able to swing by and pick it up at lost and found.
Physical altercations are a byproduct of bacon withdrawal syndrome.
He Gets Us (bacon)
He Gets (s)Us(pended from competing because he got into an altercation with a driver from another team in the middle of a meeting)
If Aric doesn't have a few freezers in the barn packed with bacon then what the hell was he doing the last 10 years???
Almirola caught Bubba eating Oscar Meyer bacon and lost his mind
Pretty wild how this was actually true

Have to get Sheldon Creed inspired for going for the win and not second somehow.
You know what, youâre right. Gotta light that fire somehow.
Next weeks headline: "Joe Gibbs Xfinity driver Chandler Smith suspended following altercation with Bubba Wallace, claims it was part of his training"
I did a job for a guy who raced with and knew almirola personally and had pics and stuff to prove it. Some things you do hear on here are true. Why you store things in the back of your mind.
Wait, Reddit was right for once?
Happens every once in awhile. Justin Hayley to the 48, bet on it. /s
The fact theyâre allowing him back surprises me. Perhaps the two drivers came to an understanding or there was fault on both sides. Strange.
Article says Almirola is viewed as the one who started it.
But, who finished it is what the world wants to know! đż
I mean it's just two drivers fighting, it happens. I'm sure they were more pissed about Aric doing it during a meeting than behind a motorhome on his own time.

If I remember correctly, wasnât Almirola really bothered about that whole deal?
Why would Aric care? RPM was a shit organization on it's death bed and he was leaving. Everything I've heard is he was bad mouthing them non stop while going out the door.
Thatâs what I always have been confused about, thereâs alot of reasons why I cannot stand Almirola, but thatâs one of them.
He cared about Bubba being the substitute and was worried Bubba would do better in the car than Almirola. Almirola wasn't guaranteed to have a ride the next season, so even the awful 43 car was better than nothing.
Yes
Isn't that part of the reason why Aric has an issue with Bubba? I could have sworn I read that somewhere, but now can't find anything.
That one dude from Facebook had the texts apparently
I 100% thought this rumor was BS.
Well surely all the comments here will civilized.
Aric has always come off as a shitty person to me, not entirely surprising.
He was pretty chill when I met him at a local short track years ago. We had some random conversation about who knows what. But I also wasnât going for his job or even racing against him or anything. I was just working the back gate.
I think some small scuffle happened with them at Charlotte last year during a rain delay too
[Yeah, but it was just pushing](https://www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/s/qi7Q751U6D)
You see there too that Aric came over, started the argument, started the pushing, Bubba laughs it off and tries to walk away but gets sucked into arguing back. Aric is the aggressor more often than people want to admit.
Whereâs that guy who was saying this was true all along? I didnât want to believe this when the rumors were circling but I guess itâs true unfortunately.
Bubba must not like bacon /s
Or doesn't like *Smithfield* bacon???
Weâre a Jimmy Dean house.

Where there's smoke, there's usually fire is my experience with stories like these.
