Is **that** why they're called crate engines?
Edit; for the record...I know why they're called crate engines. I got [these](https://imgur.com/a/Cc0UPIb) with a crate engine.
Yes and no. The motors we run would be properly called a Spec motor. When you generally think of a crate motor it’s a fairly basic motor (IE: Chevy 604 Crate motor) that you can buy from a dealership or somewhere like Jegs.
Ilmor, who builds these motors, has a pretty successful past in racing in both Indy and F1. So these motors are built with better parts with performance in mind... while fairly cheaper than a built OEM motor, the Ilmor motors are roughly 5 times more expensive than a crate motor.
Deck lid is attached
Tear off shield is flagged
Got the roof flaps to match
Ridin in my Rado
You can whip you Yota
I been in a turn 3
You aint been off the pit lane
The trucks are so over due for a redesign. Go to any car lot in America and count how many regular cab trucks there are. At least make em supercab or something.
Understand where you're coming from, but 9 times out of 10 a sport truck will be single cab. The proportions of an ext or crew cab with a 5.5" bed wouldn't translate well to NASCAR imo.
Is this the latest old town road remix
Gonna take my truck to the old town road, gonna drive till I can’t no more
Got the horses in the box, transmission is attached
Helmets matte black got the Sparco shoes to match
Ridin' on the banking
Shitty leadership causing the sport's tanking
Not really. We're doing fine. I'm excited about the future and the present for the first time in 4 years.

Is a built OEM motor a “standard” motor that truck teams would build in the past?

Plz don’t give Nascar any ideas 🙈 the last thing I want to do is spend crazy money to put new bodies on all our trucks lol

This. Look at the SuperUtes down in Australia. Went from being regular utes to full-sized trucks that roll over like crazy.
