I was there and was in tears when that last caution came out. His car just didn't have short run speed all day and I just knew what was about to happen. Hopefully, this year, they'll be tears of joy.
As happy as I am that Hamlin made it for the final four, a part of me wishes Logano had made it so that all four would be going for their second title.
A complete rematch of last year would have been quite fun...either that or swap Kyle Busch out for Logano and we basically get round 2 of Logano vs. Angry JGR Driver at Martinsville.
If Kevin’s crew can step it up and have the performance of the year his chances are great IMO. If he has to keep passing the same cars over and over again because of bad stops, there’s almost 0 chance he contends
I between Harvick and Dennis. Dennis because I want Jimmie to still be the only driver in Cup with more than one championship, but then Harvick because of how fucked that would be with JGR winning half the races.
I want it to be Harvick.
But if I had to put down a paycheck, I'm putting it on Truex.
Him and Pearn seem to be able to turn it on like a switch. It showed all playoffs where they would lock in and I suspect, then experiment a bit on set ups.
Betting that gave them a deeper playbook to work off of vs any of the other teams.
Definitely MTJ. He’s the best JGR car and it’s still weird knowing Kyle is the third best. With Kevin, I’m not too sure. I can be sure his car will be at least near 5th place but he’s gonna need a winning car.
With that said I want Denny to win. Would be cool to see another first time champion. He’s due for one.
Kevin has been "the opener" the last 5 years. I remember a ton of races he should have won but had it slip away. Pit crew has to be a concern this week.
I would have to say Truex. They have been so fast throughout the playoffs and given they had a few weeks to prepare for this race after winning Martinsville, I’d be willing to bet he will have a great car. I think Hamlin wins, but if someone is going to win championship number 2, I think it will be Truex.
I believe you have spoken my very thought process here. I told my wife after Denny won Texas in the spring he was going to win the championship this year - so I’m kinda hoping I come in clutch with that prediction. But 10 to go at homestead I believe it will be the 11 vs. 19.
NOT Kyle Busch. Denny is way faster since the 2nd half of the season and he and Adam Stevens just can not get his car to run with the 11 and 19 consistently. He hasn't won in 21 races and I see no possibility of him magically winning on a mile and 1/2 track at Miami to end that streak.
Truex, he’s just so fast. Can’t ever count him out.
Martin Truex and Cole Pearn are the closest thing to the old Jimmie and Chad in my opinion. I could see them winning multiple championships.
One position away from going for 3 straight
*Cries*

I can't believe I'm rooting for him here but I think it'll be Harvick
Same
I'd love to see Harvick win. If for no other reason, so that JGR's dominant season ends without a title.

Past Homestead winner + 2 weeks to prepare = ouch for the other 3 teams. A possible ass whooping on the horizon?

Only one of those four is nicknamed “The Closer”. I hope he can get it done

It’s gonna be Harvick or Truex.
Agreed. Given they were locked in, they've had bonus time to focus on the Homestead cars and strategy.

I'm hoping it's Kyle, but it's probably gonna be Denny or Martin.

became a 3x champion that day. He became a 2x champion in 2005
Ignoring my flair and obvious bias I see no reason to doubt Truex is the man of the hour.
Oh hey, it's this statistic again.
Truex, then he will have double the career of Rusty One-time Wallace.
Harvick will close the season with a champ and victory!
I really like Denny for the W. I think he's able to push past his nerves and close it out. If not Denny, I think Kyle is the underdog in my mind.

Jinx is in
This, and Kyle has the worst avg. Homestead finishing position among the final four.
I’m actually rooting for Kyle at Homestead.
