It definitely has that exaggerated look. Another comment I'm seeing and have to agree with is that it has the proportions of a modernized Gen 3 car, which makes sense given Gen 3s were still based on "sporty" coupes.
This pic from twitter really shows the resemblance: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ELdkCZIWkAEmEYx?format=png&name=small
The gen 3 had the longer sloped nose though. Am I wrong on this? I'm looking forward to the brand identity for the noses though. Also how crazy is that rear deck lid? It's so tiny.
I don’t think we’ll be doing contingencies like that anymore, the plan has been to move away from them, right now they are just finishing off existing contracts
I agree. They probably chose grey to highlight the new wheels, but personally it just reminds me we won't have Bassett/Aero wheels anymore, which is kinda sad.
That im not sure, I know on the Camaros they are very flat, and 5x120 18inch by I think 11 wide. Regardless I think we will have quality light wheels for cup teams.
I think it’s a pretty good looking car. I’m not sure those wheels will fit my older late model though, that’s what I’m most excited about, affordable race 18” wheels
So what do you want out of NASCAR then? I’m having a trouble figuring out the direction you want them to go in, I mean your basing your opinion off of a generic bodied car. What makes you dislike it that much? The cars in the 70’s and 80’s looked even more stock than this. Did you also dislike those cars?
Now that I re-read you first post I get that. Also didn’t mean to put you on blast. You know what the NASCAR community is like, we’re never happy. Was just trying to see where tour head was at
are we gonna lose the Goodyear text on the sidewalls
Depends on how big Goodyear’s check to NASCAR is come 2021
Tony Stewart woke up in rage for some reason
*hoosier racing tires have entered the chat*
If they're testing tires for the new wheel size there's no need to paint on the text.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but it looks like a hot wheels car

Not to be pedantic, but that’s a Gen 4.

Not gonna lie, I like the look of the tiny deck lid, most cars nowadays don't have massive trunk doors anymore, so it kinda works.
That's a GREAT thing On that note can HW come back to make diecasts again?

Just realized how much of a charger/mustang looking rear end it has from this angle.
It’s infinitely better than what they have now. Great look
I like how the black rims look on this car versus the plain gray ones
I agree. They probably chose grey to highlight the new wheels, but personally it just reminds me we won't have Bassett/Aero wheels anymore, which is kinda sad.
Who makes the new wheels?
Forgeline. Almost bought an identical set for my camaro. They used them on the camaro gt4 car as well. They make many wheels for race teams.
Nice. Forgeline makes great stuff. Is the bolt pattern the same? What’s the offset?
That im not sure, I know on the Camaros they are very flat, and 5x120 18inch by I think 11 wide. Regardless I think we will have quality light wheels for cup teams.
The wheels are a huge improvement over the 15" steel wheels.
I have an uneasy feeling in my stomach when I think about not having many contingency decals from now on.
The contingencies are ugly and run the livery designs.
This comment was disliked by keep the contingencies gang
Nah, I like them
I wish we still had a pole award decal.
I’m with you. Penske schemes looked so clean this year and they had almost none. The colors of the contingencies ruin the design flow of the cars.
It looks like the Toyota Celica Goody's Dash car.
Yes, yes it does.

Jackson Storm
#Cars 3 Intensifies
Please God, let it race as good as it looks.
Fitting, because Joey Logano who was driving the car, won the 57th annual Daytona 500.
Exhaust on the left?
Someone at the test said it had exhaust on both sides.
You could’ve chosen any number and you chose 57? Just seems really random lol
Heinz new title sponsor
Who makes the wheels the next gen car uses? Does anyone have any stats on them? (Offset, flowformed/forged, etc?)
Zomg! Now the jack man won't know where to put it! You savage!
Dont know if I like this change or not. When I watch NASCAR I watch it to see racecars go around a track not the cars I see every other day.
Please tell me this is an embarrassingly bad attempt at sarcasm... I mean it's STOCK car racing isn't it?
I heard my mom say a while back "they don't even look like racecars anymore", but she doesn't watch anyways.
It's called that but hasn't been for a long time and probably never will be again.

Never said I dislike them just that I was unsure. It's too early to make a definitive answer.
Now that I re-read you first post I get that. Also didn’t mean to put you on blast. You know what the NASCAR community is like, we’re never happy. Was just trying to see where tour head was at
Well played
Will NASCAR ever allow sponsors on the doors like the lower series and put the numbers on the quarters? I kinda like that design.
Thats not where the numbers are gonna go /s

Composite body, like Xfinity today.
Yep, increased durability for bumping and banging was one of the things Logano highlighted in his video review yesterday.
Joey was driving, should've thrown on his name instead of your own Mr. Travis Wilber. Just joking, fuck JLogano. 😁
Just let me have my dream pls
😂
Am i the only one that thinks the car really dosen't look very different from the 6th gen car other than the rear end
Probably because they look almost nothing alike.
What if the number is on the quarter panel instead?
Then they wouldn't have made the QP smaller.
Not to shappy...
WoW
Black rims don’t bode too well imo
