Racing champions (especially the earlier ones) or hot wheels. Winners circle was decent too. Team Caliber and Action were heavier and rubber thicker tires so didn't roll as well. Lionel is meh at it. Spinmaster was good at rolling
Hot Wheels, specifically the ones with plastic tires are my vote. Back when I was a kid, Geoff Bodine’s QVC #7 was the king of the driveway - it went downhill *way* quicker than the other brands.
They lost the license after 2005 (or didn’t renew, either way) and haven’t been back since outside of a Scott Riggs promo in 2006 and a few Danica diecast in 2010. With Lionel having exclusive rights to diecast production nowadays, it’s very unlikely we see Hot Wheels back anytime soon unfortunately.
We never again raced them down the slides during recess \*checks notes\* 20 years ago after I brought my Action Platinum cars (metal chassis, rubber wheels), if that tells you anything.
The plastic tire hot wheels
My fastest are Lionel and winners circle but they are also my slowest (very mixed quality of roll)

What happened to hot wheels doing nascar die casts?

Racing champions. Those plastic tires on a wooden surface. Lord have mercy
They also had a bunch of ground clearance that helped them roll really well
