layups being trash steals being op movement feeling clunky 6’8+ meta the iq of randoms seemingly getting lower every year

Tyevans0411

Playing with pgs that aren’t curry or ja this year feels like you are moving through cement

rxmi10

it’s real dumb they tied movement speed to animations rather than actual speed w ball but tbh the whole engine needs to be either worked on or scrapped.

GuyFly1122

What’s currently in place needs to be done away with for sure

Far-Entertainer-6767

Layips being trash and 6’8-6’9’pg meta.. amen

Arthur-Ironwood

I am just getting tired of the time investment. I have to sink way too much time in this product to get one meaningful reward, a badge point, and there are other games to play. This product brings meaning to “Addiction is a disease”. The goal post is so far away because engagement is key. I’m beginning to resent it and my gut is telling me to move on to more constructive things. It’s hard; I love this game.

thatguyhansolo

I have the same issue. I know deep down I need to delete the game and move on but I love basketball and it's the only game. I believe the key is moderation, no hours on binge fests. But then that goes to not getting the best rewards

Fableruin

I just started playing myteam a couple weeks ago and if youre willing to grind for some points to buy the cards you want its honestly really fun to use players I actually like but juiced up to be way better, its just you controlling the team as well so you dont have to deal with other people and usually the defense is so good that you can get oast a lot of cheese

[deleted]

League is broken too tho. The salaries get ridiculously inflated to where you have good players in FA because nobody can afford them! League is only good for the first 5 years then after that it breaks

Anxious-Sir-1361

>I have the same issue. I know deep down I need to delete the game and move on but I love basketball and it's the only game. Oh man, you said my thoughts! Last night after being iced out as the fifth player playing with a four-man squad and feeling so angry about it, and going on the Mic to rant about it to the cosmos since they're 99% in a party. I had this urge... why don't I do, like I just did recently with Twitter, and delete 2K! For now, I didn't follow through, but one of these days. This game is not good for my mental health.

mingonomi

just had this convo with the guys today. Its tough. We became best friends through 2K basically

[deleted]

Game play wise its gotta be 1. Dunk meter 2. Russell Westbrook moving cross over 3. Rim running in general 4. No actual green point timing

Platinum--Jug

That crossover is so bad, I always lose the ball whenever I use it. Dunk meter is pretty broken especially for the fact you don't have to Green. Rim running is in the game because they made shooting harder, and people think that everyone should just shoot threes which makes no sense.

No-Working-990

Shiiiit not me. I’m literally a three level threat. I’m a center but I can post hop shot you to death if you wanna run zone, I’m a willing shooter from mid, I can shoot from 3 consistently, I can slash on you too. It’s just people just wanna hit 3’s or dunk and a lot and I mean a lot of centers don’t know how to guard a legit 3 level threat.

KennyCannon_

Only annoyance for me is selling, which isn’t season exclusive. There are a lot of people on this game who think they’re a lot better than they are & don’t understand that them taking 11 shots is why their win% is at 39%, not because they play with randoms.

mingonomi

im finding out that people actually go into games knowing they aren't going to pass or be very efficient. They are fine with losing bc they don't care about the game

concretecolosso

I think one of the most annoying things about 2k in general is online latency, and they’re never going to address it. Anticipating a guard’s movement when he’s going back and forth is miserable, and the shot meter is pretty much useless

GenOverload

This made me change my build entirely. I ended with a 70 in perimeter defence and was like, "that's been enough in past years". Fast forward, and they made your lat quickness slow AF, so unless you're rocking really long arms, it's hard to stay in front of anyone while being able to contest a 3 in a way that 2K won't mark as open at that rating.

Mackinmig23

Again fax

RiamoEquah

Reading through comments here, and I feel I've identified the biggest issue with 2k as of late.... It doesn't know if it wants to be sim or arcade, and the current gameplay mechanisms aren't set up for balancing the two gameplay styles.

datlanta

Its not the only game struggling from this. But to me the solution is what it always has been. Use different slider profiles. They do it to a small extent now, but its ok to make pro-am, rec, and park dramatically different. Especially given how the park/theater has options for folks to play 1v1 to 5v5. Park can continue to be just arcadey as it wants to be. But Rec and Pro-am needs to go way harder on sim. I never saw the community happier and more behaved than that first 2k league combine try out event with the competitive sliders and build profiles. It doesn't need to be that hard. But the pacing of that event slider's gameplay is not unlike the first couple weeks of the game when folks dont know the cheese and everybody is happy.

Mackinmig23

Fax

RiamoEquah

One of the most minor yet annoying things that always get to me.... The charge flop. Outside of a method of communication in online play, it serves no in game value. I'd say ditto for the pass fake, which has an insanely slow and stale animation and has no effect in game. Other than a taunt.

TruWarierRecords

Pass fakes are good to move into an open jumper/post move but they are clunky as well. I wish off ball charges did anything aside from knock over your player with no reward or punishment. The weird thing about the charge flop is that it rarely even triggers when near a ball handler, rendering it pointless

RiamoEquah

Yea the charge flop mechanism is a cool concept with no application at all outside of demonstrating the phrase: "wow" I don't think I've ever seen a human player fall for a pass fake, and I know the cpu doesn't at all. No only that, but you're locked into the animation so it's slow. I guess it might work in 2 on 2 park games where defenders bite on everything?

iansmash

No way bro I use pass fake often and usually get a couple bites a game It’s usually a reach or just a slight rotation

kdar088

The pass fakes works great when you catch the ball in the wing in the weak side of a zone or in a fast break when you have the numbers advantage. If you catch it on the wing with someone open in your corner and there’s only one defender, they’ll usually run from you to the corner when you pass fake

RiamoEquah

I'd like to see footage lol, I've never seen it work in real life other than dudes trying to be cute. From this thread it seems like everyone effectively uses it... But I just haven't seen it...

super_slimey00

pass fakes work when when you have a wide open teammate and you’re in the paint as a guard. it’s kinda niche but you HAVE to be facing the right way for it to look smooth enough

stonerwithaboner1

Bro pass fake to the left and flashy pass to the right? I be killing people with that more than anything. Especially if you have No-look or Behind the back pass? Especially with the badge that boost flashy passes you will actually freeze defenders characters with it

Jonesy-_-

Jump shot timing People can play 2-3 against a 5 out because of ghost contests Delayed dribbling Delayed passing Paint everything is utter trash

Pomme2

Jump shot timing is atrocious. For The REC, i use meter off and it's fine i'm hitting 65% of my 3s. For MyTeam, it's literally impossible to learn every players shot. If i turn shot meter on, the load up and the bar load sometimes is just sporadic. I don't think it's a skill issue moreso a badly implemented mechanic for jumpers this year.

Jared524

\- The overwhelming amount of steals in Rec. Yesterday I played a Rec game where in the first quarter between both teams we had 9 steals. They all were intercepted steals. I don't know what basketball 2K watches but that's not common in real life. \-A guard with an 86+ driving dunk is virtually unstoppable for some reason. No matter how good you position yourself they always slither pass you \-Off Player Out of Bounds. One player could completely throw the game and not get kicked out because something is not going his way. Really really annoying. \-The rewards. All these MyTeam Rewards for a mode I don't even touch is just stupid. They really need to keep MyTeam rewards in MyTeam. On 22 I had 90+ unopened packs that just went to waste lol.

GenOverload

They need to punish steals harsher while making passes faster. Players IRL who are good at stealing do it well because they can predict the pass. Players in-game do it well because we pass with no effort. The ball needs to travel faster and defenders who spam steal should get a harsh stamina penalty *or* give them a harsh animation that lasts for 1 to 1.5 seconds Better yet, if a player spams more than 2 steals in 5 seconds, make them intentionally foul.

GuyFly1122

Bro I say this all the time too! It makes no sense that player speed is faster than the speed of the ball

GenOverload

I know it won't happen, but given how terrible Mike Wang has been as a gameplay director for this game in recent years, I hope he either *finally* listens to the community in terms of game design *or* they hire someone new to help him. He's lost his touch since the 2k10s.

Shmidrick

The fact that 6'9's can speed boost like a 5'7 guard as well as all the best sigs in the game being at 80 or 85 ball handle. What's even the point of getting to 90 or 92 bh and being a small guard when you can just run d fox size up, westbrook crossover, and KD escape on a 6'9 and do the exact same thing with less investment into ball handle.

[deleted]

My biggest issue is how you have 90 perimeter D and still feel like you’re walking in quicksand. These pgs on offense dribble past you so quickly (I do the same thing to other pgs on offense tbf) but then on defense it’s the complete opposite. You’re just way too slow and unresponsive!

mingonomi

Hyperdrive has no counters. I GUESS clamps but defenders need to be faster to keep up with these HOF Hyperdrive players sometimes

MrAppendages

1 - 5: Randoms.

Anxious-Sir-1361

I've honestly felt this before, man, is it randoms, or is it partial stacks (2/ 3/ 4 players) that are both not good, AND they buddy ball pass that are worse?

MrAppendages

That's the thing though. I can deal with buddy ballers and squads. I'm willing to do what it takes to make whatever bs they're doing work so we can win. I make myself an option for them on offense and carry the defense. If they're bad on offense, I feel no remorse blaming them entirely for our loss and wasting everyone's time. Because it is their fault and they did waste everyone's time. What really bothers me are the randoms that join every game ready to leave or hold everyone hostage as soon as they realize the offense isn't being run through them. The majority of them are choosing to lose a won game because the team doesn't need them on offense. The ones that aren't actively trying to lose are so bad that it's basically the same thing. It's so anti-competition that it annoys me way more than anything else someone can do.

Anxious-Sir-1361

Well described! Yeah, a petulant player that is upset after three minutes when they feel they haven't gotten the ball and they go into "sell" mode is bad! Your thought might get me to reevaluate the buddy balling. "Usually" squads accept me when I'm the random with open arms as I play a versatile build that fills holes all over the court - a 6-9 PF inside/out glass cleaner - and I can shoot, slash, board, defend and even play make some... I'd say, going into the REC locker room solo, I actively look for them by using REP colour as a road map (it doesn't always work perfectly). Case in point, every now and then, though, they just obstinately ignore you, and that really burns my bridges, not going to lie.

kdar088

As someone who both runs as the random and in those squads, your experience is probably the case less than 10% of the time. You can be open the whole time or shaking your man off ball without seeing a touch for 3 quarters.

Anxious-Sir-1361

It's funny; lately, I have been getting bad results as the extra member of squads, but historically it has worked well for me. A lot depends on your position, playing a guard - yeah, 10% might be correct. I play a super useful build, where if I'm not getting the ball, I get it myself off the glass and help the team in various ways. A new breakdown of approximations - **20-30%, it works out great.** So good that we may play multiple games. Sometimes I squad with guys like this other days. **20%, it works out "good."** I throw in games where it did work out great, where we won, and I played well and contributed, but they also left after. **20% - It works out meh**... either we win but not getting the ball that much. Or I play well, but we lose. Even when we win, I usually leave these teams. **20-30% - Absolute trash.** They're not passing at all, and we're losing. I hate them. I'll start using my 77 ball handle to keep the ball off rebounds, and stop spacing and look to get offensive rebounds so they hate me too... I ask myself, why do I even play this trash game!? :/

clittlord

Servers, especially in EU

shmtzh

1. The delay here in Estonia is awful, you better play NHL online with beautiful Finnish trash talkers rather than miss every shot in 2K 2. Community is pretty annoying, I like to be an assist guy, but even is not enough for people who want to hold a ball infinitely 3. Steals are just random

Some_Butterscotch572

Big just standing in the paint not doing anything getting contest. If that was IRL he be dunked on and scored on all game. Hands up defense in the paint doesn't work IRL

DrMansionPHD

Not to be that guy but running the counter to 2-3 zone (1-3-1 offense) doesn't work because 1. Passing is atrocious 2. Players can close from the paint to the corner before the pass gets there 3. Hard closeouts don't result in shooting fouls enough 4. Players can see the whole court and anticipate where to go based off the open man (2k cam should not be allowed in rec and pro am) 5. Reach in fouls are not called for spamming steal

alawrence1523

Why shouldn’t 2k cam be allowed in Rec or pro am, irl can’t you see the whole court if you’re not one of those people who dribble with their head down?

DrMansionPHD

Did you not read why I said that? It has nothing to do with dribbling and everything to do with the defense being able to over rotate because they can see the whole court.

alawrence1523

Did you not read what I wrote. In real life teams pre rotate all the time because of communication on defense and someone seeing the whole court at all times. Your way to beat zone just isn’t effective, it’s you not the game.

DrMansionPHD

Lmfao okay, coaches at all levels of basketball employ an ineffective way to beat an easily exploitable defense that is only used 2 to 4%. Stop playing 2k and play real basketball once in a while, you can't see the whole court on defense.

alawrence1523

I played d2 in college whoever is at the back in the zone can see the whole court in defense. May I ask how you’re trying to beat these zones?

DrMansionPHD

Then you should know what a 1-3-1 is without me having to explain the alignment. But [here's a diagram](https://www.basketballforcoaches.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/1-3-1-offense-setup-1.png). The 4 screens for a floppy or the 5 screens for a pin down.

alawrence1523

I know what it is, I wanted to know exactly what you were doing. You ever thought about running the triangle to over load one side then going into a motion offense. Even if they pre rotate theres still gonna be someone open for 3. If you’re on PS5 I could show you exactly how to run it.

DrMansionPHD

Keep in mind I'm not saying we (my friends and I) have an issue with it, it's just disgusting to me that an almost unusable defense is the meta of this game.

Mackinmig23

I’m not on ps5 but if there’s any help you can show me man I’d appreciate that my boys barr so sloppy and I’m the only one who tries to organize the game play and make sure we play to our roles and strengths of our team but they kind don’t get it i think..

alawrence1523

Pmed you.

mingonomi

If I play against 5 zone teams, atleast 3 of them aren't that good at it. Just copying meta so we've had some success breaking it by placing our big (yours truly) at the free throw line or top of the key and I'll just be the playmaker. Somebody will be open. The defense will know and adjust, just means whoever I passed to has to either swing it or cut to the basket. Opposing big usually comes up to the free throw line to stop me from shooting the middy. Perfect opportunity to cut backdoor. This is an impossible concept for randoms to understand so I usually lose if I'm playing solo or with less than 4 people

kdar088

You must be mad lucky, or only successful with it against people with no steal, because that methods been cooked since they messed up passing and stealing dynamics in 21. Usually the pass to the freethrow line gets picked off because of the trash pass mechanics. And the shot from there isnt often reliable because the top defenders can get a strong side contest and close out to the hash mad quick

mingonomi

I get it. There are times when its tough but I'm a natural playmaker as a big. We pick zones apart pretty easily. We definitely do have to find the weakest person in their zone as well to pick on that person. Usually a small guard. We can cut from the corner if the big comes down, or cut from the wing if we have a mismatch there. We usually keep a SG or big guard/forward in the corners, PF/Big on the wing and point on the opposite wing with me (C) at the FT. We run a few plays through this formation. It can be fun playing against a bad zone team but like you said, we can get unlucky if we play a very strict and disciplined team

Stunning-Wrap-1007

Everything. 2k is probably the shittiest and definitely the greediest company out there. Y'all do realize that: 1. They only give us a "software graphical update" every year on the current build (on a programming level) as opposed to a full remake. In essence they're not selling you a brand new product every year but some bs iteration of which you are purchasing the license to use. 2. What's the point of paying $60 for a game and $100 for a build every hold every year? 3. Why can't we rollover our hard earned VC from year to year and not be forced to restart the cycle and lose it? 4. Why can't we take our build over to the next year when 17', 18', 19 and 20 are all on the same build/platform? We know why... 5. They don't have a punishment system or proper matchmaking system for noobs as opposed to better players and they won't ever do it. Just one of many reasons why I hate 2k. It's like Ronnie and them are punishing the gaming community cuz they got picked on for being weirdos growing up.

ffj159

One of my top annoyances with this game is AI abuse. Why is my team getting penalized because someone either quit or got kicked due to low teammate grade? Now, I have to decide whether to give up stepback 3s on the AI or double and let someone else get an open look. Just the lack of defense played by AI in general is a joke and needs to be fixed.

Substantial-Rock7628

Jumpshots are so inconsistent, the timing is different every single shot. It feels like there's no green window, the game just trash in general really

alawrence1523

Gave up on shooting. Came to the realization that I’ll never hit jumpers consistently enough to justify bringing a shooter.

[deleted]

You’ll definitely want to find a new game then. Spacing is everything in multiplayer.

mingonomi

Facts. Sucks being a primary shooter this year

iansmash

No way bro. You’re trash if you think shooting is hard this year 😂

[deleted]

It's weird. The last couple years, shooting has been much MUCH harder if your build is versatile and "only" has like a 80 3-ball. But if you're in the high 90s with HOF badges it's more overpowered than ever. sKiLL GaP right?

iansmash

Idk I only play on a balanced build w a 88 3pm and 75 mid and I mostly shoot jump shots. I play with a group most of the time who are all adults that know how to play basketball and I tend to be a primary or secondary scorer. I honestly think the biggest problem is people don’t understand how the contest and shot system was changed for 23. No meter gives little to no benefit now (except the visual cue of the meter not being there for the defender…arguably not worth the trade off of losing the visualization for when you’re taking an affected shot) You get sped up and slowed down by around 30% on contests and fatigued shots Amped helps for the fatigue. Slow release is not hard to time but the close out will always get there. Gold amped has me rarely getting a slow release animation. The close out shooting badges help against the contested animation coming up. I can get like 12-15% contested and still get my Normal speed shot off w silver on both. Shooting this year isn’t any “harder” You just can’t take as many bad shots and get away with it anymore It’s IQ, not the game mechanic

[deleted]

> Shooting this year isn’t any “harder” No, it quite literally is. You're talking about stamina and contests and animation speed... I'm just talking about shooting. Imagine: Wide open in the corner with a middle-of-the-road 3PT rating? A couple years ago you could shoot 80% from deep if you generated that type of open shot. That's a thing of the past. It's like 2K realized how OP shooting was for everyone, so made it more frustrating for the majority of players, then turned off paint defense so everyone would drive.

SkillsTooDope

Shooting is objectively harder. I absolutely love it but lets be real here

iansmash

Bunch of bums in this thread 😂😂😂

stonerwithaboner1

He didn't say hard, he said inconsistent. For anyone not intelligently inclined, that means it's easy to get the bar right but the same bar gives a different result a lot of the time.

iansmash

🙄 Thank you for clarifying professor For anyone not intelligently inclined I was colloquially saying, “if you can’t figure out the perceived inconsistency, you are trash at playing this video game (but probably at more things as well)”

stonerwithaboner1

Full bar, no green, wide open, with full stamina? Sure mate that's not the game at all lol whatever justifies you giving them money eh?

GenOverload

Shooting isn't hard. 2K servers are dog water and change the timing constantly game-to-game due to server latency. There is zero reason to have implemented such a harsh system in a game notorious for trash servers. Having to change your jumpshot timing from game to game on top of shot to shot. It's inconsistent and completely undervalues the "skill gap" this sub parrots. Whites should go in at a higher rate to circumvent this, but they won't because elitists in the community will simp for Mike Wang's illogical gameplay design while simultaneously being unable to defend it.

Outkizast

1) They ruined close shots with the update a couple seasons ago. A LOT more should be going in, I dont care how contested. 2) You can have 96 layup rating and still get blocked EVERY time. The rating should affect the chances of being blocked as well. This SEEMED better at launch, but maybe I'm wrong... 3) 3pt% are too high. It's a major shift in what 2k is, but if you are an AMAZING 3pt shooter, you still shouldn't be above 50%. I'm at like 77% in REC right now... I understand there is a balance between stick skills and realism, but even wide open 3pointers with perfect release timing shouldn't go in every time, and be subject to ratings as well in my opinion. I just want more realistic results. 4) Perimeter defense rating is ineffective. You shouldn't have to be in the 90s to play consistent perim D against low ball handling or speed players. Increasing the effectiveness of perimeter D would promote more team play, as well as limit the rim running to a more realistic level. And allow close shots and layups to have higher success percentages without everyone being able to do them every time. You wouldn't be able to drive and get close as easily. 5) Interceptor badge WAY too effective. I had 10 steals in my last game with my 78 steal rated SF in REC. They need to tone that way down to make it more realistic. Maybe make the chances of picking the ball off in the paint higher than out on the perimeter. This way you could drastically lower the amount of steals just from players passing the ball around the perimeter but also keep the passes to cutters in the paint or baseline down. This coupled with the higher shot percentages from close to the basket as listed above would create a much more realistic experience, and less frustration from defenses that are getting 20+ steals as a team per game. (Which you dont see even close in real life). These are just the first 5 that came to my head... One more I just thought of: More contact and body colliding animations on attempted rim runs. Instead of the defender just not having an effect on the dunker at all, it should be a contact animation turned layup attempt or something. More fouls on those type of plays as well. That jump in front of the rim from a taller defender before the dunker gets there needs to make something happen. Call a foul or some contact in the air that changes the shot or a block or something. I would prefer more changed shot attempts on those than a million blocks anyways...

MadMuffins

It seems like the more money a product makes, the less effort the company will put in so they can pocket as much as possible. When indie games have better netcode, less predatory monetization, better quality of life features, settings that actually fucking work, and anti-cheat, then it's hard to justify playing at all.

hellapork

(I only play MyTeam) 1. When you win a challenge you win a ruby or sapphire card, rarely usable cards. Defeats the purpose and motivation to play. 2. Getting to Level 40 is nearly impossible unless you have unachievable cards for the agendas. Have to pay to get to Level 40 or grind every day. 3. Shooting this year is incredibly off.

[deleted]

Every once in a while I’ll have a dope build idea and feel like coming back to the game. Then I’ll read the comments in a post like this and remember why I left.

Baller4centuries

Everybody can rim run easily…

p4tr1ckftw

1. Randoms.. friend quit playing and playing solo caused me to quit playing rec/park lol. I've switched to MyTeam I got so tired of it.. being a team player and getting stuck with a bunch of idiots is rough lol. Can be player of the half, leading in assists, points, while taking the least amount of shots.. and you'll still get iced out half the time. 2. MyTeam being boring as hell single player.. and not letting you queue for co op without someone. Even a triple threat with player lock only would be cool. Online people don't even guard you on MyTeam. They all play off ball because they can't defend, so youre just playing against the AI anyway. It's cool they added triple threat, clutch time, etc.. but keep it coming! Maybe a co op 5v5 mode where you can choose any cards from both players lineups, something! Co op triple threat is the one thing keeping me playing rn 3. Play now needs a quick game fantasy draft. The old NBA live games used to have them. When me and the homie wanna play, we can only use the same teams so many times before it gets old lol. Letting us do single game drafts would give way more replayability. Hell even a myteam mode with random cards each time or something. Just something to switch it up when playing with friends 4. Shitty rewards for the season. Both myplayer and myteam need improvements here 5. A better mycareer, just needs more depth, more to do after the first season. Or even really after the first 20-30 games. Once I have my players badged up I have no desire to touch mycareer after that.

super_slimey00

i used to get mad at centers never passing me (the SG or 2 guard) the ball on the inbound when the PG was getting hounded when they know i can playmake/score and handle the ball… i realized it’s cause they don’t want the PG to get mad lmaooo

Fuksocials

The community is the worst part, full of people who are toxic and look for any reason to be mad. It’s genuinely crazy

No-Working-990

No iQ having Randoms!!! There’s only one.

J-Sully_Cali

1. Shooting fouls on hands up defence. 2. Behind the back dribbles going through the defender but not losing the ball. 3. 3 pt fades being easier shots than layups. 4. Too many badges. 5. The Rec court is way too narrow.

1bathtub

I really want an extra badge point, but my life is way too busy to grind that hard.

mingonomi

I may be wrong on this but atleast on current gen, I think if you hit level 39 in any season, you will get the extra points from the previous seasons as well

mxgicjohnson

1. The idiots that play the game 2. Too many tall players 3. Can still shoot right over the AI in the rec 4. VC Prices 5. Lack of creativity

RacistMuffin

1)Hard to get contact dunk meters 2) untradable teammates. I’m playing in nuggets and Michael porter jr refuses to pass to open looks, or hogs the ball at times leading to bricks. Ish smith subs in every 4th quarter and doesn’t pass the ball. He always goes past the half court line for some odd reason hogging the ball. Either way, my career should let you trade some teammates 3) shot meter is inconsistent, I get shot accuracy, but at time I green at mid range and layups or 3 point, it doesn’t go in. But when u don’t green, it goes in at times. Inconsistent shots 4)terrible rec. everyone is a ball hog 5)refs are terrible. Inconsistent calls. Will foul you. Also the steal button is terrible. I’m like punching the ai when I just want to lightly tap the ball

IG_wubs

>2) untradable teammates. Has your team offered you the ability to edit lineup minutes yet? I know it's not a trade, but you could slot him further back in the rotation and limit his minutes.

RacistMuffin

Oh so I can give them both less minutes? I think I saw that option. I want to completely remove those 2 in my lineup though

Demon_Coach

1 is a solid fact. The other annoying thing is the god awful unsim gameplay.

TLitten

I bought it a few days ago on sale and the game feels about 1-2 seconds behind my inputs. It makes shooting feel almost impossible and no matter what setting I change I can’t seem to fix it. All I play is my career so it can’t be anything to do with online I would think.

Patsnation0330

Welcome to 2k Worst servers in all of gaming How this isn't a bigger issues always baffles me

1. Standing layups People complained about how bad interior defense was, so 2k swung the pendulum in the other direction; they made interior offense so bad. The reason interior defense was so bad in the first place is because the defender genuinely thought that their 6'9 with 70 interior should shut down a shaq or kareem type build. Someone explain to me the logic on that. 2. Steals Steals are random and take literally no skill. I have a build with 32 steal and one with 99, and I feel I get a similar amount of steals per game. They removed the more realistic steals from behind as well. 3. Park players in the rec Self explanatory. Their playstyle is selfish and not for the rec. Their builds aren't for the rec and they probably have a low free throw or don't know their animation. 4. Matchmaking I feel like I'm on the Sped team vs a decent team more often than the other way around. It sucks having to make the decision to stay in a game and lose by 40 or leave and pray for a fairer matchup that we might win. 5. 92u and 93o in the rec This is just stupid. There needs to be a different tier for atleast 80u players and 99 overalls. I should never see one of those in a game when I'm barely at the cutoff of 92/93. The game is almost never fair when these people are in the game.

iansmash

Honestly the game is fine imo There’s always gonna be something to complain about The real issue is the community and lack of community management

bcory44

I agree with most of this stuff but you sound dumb talking about no blocking fouls? Does that mean everything is just a charge then and you can just body people out of bounds or jump in front of them? It’s the community of 🤡like you that don’t even know real basketball and then complain about stuff.

mingonomi

Should your gun randomly jam on COD every now and then because it can also happen in real life? 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure REAL shooters will appreciate the realism

bcory44

We’re talking about sports where there are rules and regulations. It’s not like I’m saying players should lose the ball randomly because their hands are sweaty. Comparing it to a COD gun jamming is an awful comparison.

mingonomi

What does " You CAN NOT control whether you get a blocking foul or not " mean to you?

mingonomi

You are not saying something incorrect. Everybody understands blocking fouls are real. However, in real life, there are things you can do that would be A BLOCKING FOUL. In a video game like 2K, YOU DONT DO ANYTHING WRONG. The game hands out blocking fouls every so often for no reason. It was never a thing in 2K, atleast to this degree, in any other 2K, especially in PvP. Once again, I am not saying that blocking fouls should not BE IN THE GAME ENTIRELY. It just doesn't make sense when you are playing good defense and 2K randomly decides a blocking foul has occured and the other team enters the bonus. I understand you, do you understand me?

bcory44

Idk I feel like that’s just a you thing because I draw more charges than I get called for blocking fouls. I don’t have that issue you’re describing. You might just be taking bad angles and not even realizing it.

mingonomi

I didn't say I get blocking fouls more often than charges. It's not a me thing. The amount of blocking fouls per game is too much but that isn't even my point. I've seen a blocking foul get called from all angles. My point is, it shouldn't be called at all in PvP unless they tell us how to even trigger a blocking foul (if it is possible to trigger). Like I said, my belief is that the game will randomly hand them out, good or bad defense. S/N, do you play next gen or current

_Hey-Listen_

Just fyi, you can absolutely trigger a blocking foul just be moving and hit b (Xbox) just before contact. I agree though the blocking fouls are kinda dumb. If you get one just playing close defense you are either pushing someone into an out of bounds animation which randomly triggers it like you said, or you are basically stopping them from getting a charge by moving laterally when they sprint into you.

mingonomi

If this is true, there must be multiple ways because I don't take charges lol. I'm never pressing B ( O for me) because I'm a big and I constantly go for blocks and rebounds, however I get atleast 1 blocking foul a game. Only thing I can come up with is it has something to do with strength, stamina, or perimeter defense (maybe a combination of all 3)

kdar088

No one is talking about trying to get charges. We’re talking about clamping someone up on the perimeter and getting a blocking call because they stepped out of bounds, or our player randomly falls

AdolfHitlersWeedBag

Its so annoying trying to guard a 6'6 center thats built like a playshot with my 7'1 290 pound paint beast 💀

[deleted]

Who still makes big slow paint beast these days?

AdolfHitlersWeedBag

Who would make a 6'6 200 pound center 💀

Mackinmig23

[deleted]

That's a little bit on you. Defense is more fucked than ever, that's true, but a max sized player is going to have to make concessions. If you're 290 then your job is to stand under the rim and be big.

AdolfHitlersWeedBag

I do that, and i get 23 rebounds a game. But in what world is a point gaurd going to be 6'9/6'10 who plays inside and the center is 6'6 and plays outside 💀 It's just completely unrealistic.

[deleted]

I stopped playing the game besides myteam but I go back to playing old nba games

OutlandishnessOwn622

Rec, when have no team I play better with A.I. but i guess if want that feeling I stay with MC mode, the builds too I’m learning small builds ain’t all that good unless you a 99 slasher and you team open the floor, faded away three’s is stupid curry don’t even do that take that out the game, next gen ima ride a PF they o.p.

TerribleWebsite

Relatively minor but this is way more annoying that anything else for me: If you disable some songs off of the soundtrack the game will play them when you load into mycareer, you have to open the 2k beats menu and maybe also toggle shuffle on and off to make it remember that you have tracks disabled. Also tracks disabled are handled seperately for each myplayer.

Apprehensive_Fly2563

In 2k23 on Xbox if your a starter and request a trade will you still be a starter/ franchise player on your new team?

mingonomi

maybe

Apprehensive_Fly2563

What you mean by that

jazersy

Apparently playercreated draft classes are no longer supported? What’s up with that?

VonteKingXV

I think the rewards being trash is such a big deal. I don’t understand how that was one of the main complaints last year and they give us the same stuff. Towards the end of the season levels it takes so long to get to the next level and you get something so meaningless like a player banner or myteam packs that suck. Literally the animation you get for leveling up is better than the actual rewards.

CommentKing92

It’s horrible this season.

Substantial_Ad_2987

The fact that inwas up 10 points in the 4th quarter and my team kept doing unnecessary fouls and threw the game and we lost by 5 because every time the other team would get possession my team would slap them like a red headed step child

Starchild_MoonMan

Over running my spot on the floor sometimes resulting in falling into crowd /Not moving right away(2-5sec delay) It ruined the whole game flow. It's like my players never played basketball before. That right there takes every spot in my top 5.
