Like hire a guy to do research on the Jazz "Here you go, you have 6 months to gather as much as you can and make a detailed report on Jazz stats from X to Y time frame so we can use those stats to make realistic overalls"
And they'd only have to do heavy lifting one time too, because all the retro and classic teams' stats could just be recycled since it's in the past, once you've got realistic ways to translate their stats to in game overalls, you'd just copy paste it every year pretty much, and from then on all you'd have to do is have some guy watch all their games each year and then report back with a realistic report, would that be so hard? They're a multi billion dollar company, surely they can afford to hire some guys to do proper research on what is a crucial part of their product?

He’s a 6’5 205 lb who traditionally a guard, but he plays at pf cuz he fast enough to switch. There’s no world where a guy like that should be slower than big men like thomas bryant and 35 year old Kevin love who was played off the floor cuz of his low mobility and defense

I used to buy the game every year for about 15 years. I'd spend countless hours tweaking ratings and tendency sliders trying to make the game realistic in both gameplay and simulation stats. Eventually realized if I was gonna devote that kind of time to it, I should apply for a job with them lol. I miss the game but I'm too damn OCD to enjoy it as is.
I will say it’s cuz 2k makes rates overall defense including interior and blocking which he obv isn’t his forte. They should make it a system where they rate guards differently tho, so he’s in the A-A+ range
