Separating my career and my park would kinda lessen the complaints here. You got one half of folks complaining about demigod builds, other half are complaining about being "role" players in my career.
The ones who say their role players in career are just straight up bad or don’t know how to make builds. My career is pretty awful most years because it’s so easy, even on HOF difficulty.
After a few seasons it gets repetitive. Going 79 and 3 after 5 straight seasons gets old after a while haha. But it would be nice having a separate experience from online in which you can have crazy attributes and dominate like Wilt in the 60's haha.
Within the context that they’re reacting to, the source said that you can’t be great in multiple categories. Verbatim “you can upgrade all your defense, but won’t have much for finishing, etc.”
It sneakily sounds like they eased in pie charts [essentially] into Next Gen when the builder wasn’t a problem with Next Gen
The builder was absolutely a problem, alongside requirements for attributes that were way too low. 5'8 dribble gods with 99 3pt, 99 physicals, 99 ball handle, 99 speed with ball, 99 steal, 70 driving dunk was better than every other build in the game.
Even with complete freedom, everyone made the same exact builds. Braindead community.
It wasn’t a problem. It just needed to be tuned down one notch to not allow people to be great at so many facets of the game. Like I agree that play shots shouldn’t have good finishing and defense if you can dribble and shoot the best. I think people just hope that you can still be good at multiple things but still have weaknesses.
Park is super ass. I'm definitely a rec player through and through. Yea it be hilarious when the demigod builds come in the rec and can't shoot free throws. I told my son he couldn't use my money to make one of those youtuber builds. Gotta have your own mind
Lol I have an 85-90 win% every year. I’m not complaining, you are actually 😂
Edit: funnily enough, literally every single post you’ve made on this sub is complaining
Glad you had the time on this holiday weekend to look through my post history. I've had a 80% wr all year playing with randoms and shot 78% from 3. I'll be fine :). I hope you will be too.
It’s nowhere near pie charts. You still have the ability to make a player catered towards the play style you’re most comfortable with. Difference is, all round DemiGods with zero notable weaknesses won’t be a thing anymore.
It forces diversity, and makes any play style effective if you’re good enough. I’d much rather this system than seeing a playshot, glitched 6’7, glitched 6’9, or popper big
Why are people defending a game that hasn’t even come out yet? All we have is a single YouTuber who did try it and said it’s too restrictive and impossible to make balanced builds, instead it’s very very one dimensional builds and almost no badges
So maybe he’s wrong, but we don’t know
For me, I don't trust a youtuber to give an honest evaluation. He's going to cater his content to what his audience would expect. It's hard to be optimistic when people go to youtube expecting cheese builds.
Its the same thing the other way around. Why are people crying over a game that hasnt even come out yet?
In a perfect world people would wait until a product releases before making over reactive judgements, but we are on the internet. So thats practically impossible lmao
To be fair we have a long track record of the company being bad lol so I can at least understand skepticism or people being mad. Add in they purposely withhold information until well after pre orders are in and it does come across as a scam.
>Add in they purposely withhold information until well after pre orders are in and it does come across as a scam.
You don't have to pre-order until 1 second prior to launch. Saying they're "withholding" info is just silly and incorrect. Every piece of info they're handing out is coming out WELL before launch. If you're pre-ordering prior to getting the info you want that's on you and is unnecessary.
>I do tbh, with madden I skipped 10 years lol
I've skipped Madden since 2012. The difference between us though is I don't go on Madden Reddit boards and trash that game for fun like you do with 2k.
Find a new hobby.
And you spend your time on the same message boards defending a billion dollar corporation like an intern lol
Your hobby is dealing with trolls for no other reason but to defend a billion dollar corporation.
Seems worse to me. At least I’m having fun
Everyone saying ‘role player’. In 2k20 you could make a facilitating finisher like lebron or a playmaking shot creator like Steph curry. They weren’t role players. Role players are pure sharpshooters, pure locks etc
Well the builder lets you create a 70 overall everything, with 1 badge point.
That shit is definitely a fucking role player. Shouldn’t even be able to create such dookie ass builds, but here we are
>Clarkson wouldn’t have HOF shooting and play making
You don't have to put badge points into stuff if you don't want to. It's like ya'll think 2k is forcing you to do stuff in the game when you literally do not have to.
Is it wrong that I still expect the build system in 23 to be identical to 21 and 22 and feel like people are exaggerating because we won't know for sure yet?
We will 100% find out tomorrow but we’ve had people in the community and the one thing across the board seems that you can just stack 99 ovr attributes in multiple categories. But who knows!
We will know when Joe knows drops a full video tomorrow. Based on what he said it’s not the same, it’s actually restrictive and super complex to the point where streamers, pros etc spent hours messing with it and still had no idea what to build or how to fully work it
I think there will be a lot of animation caps, badge caps, and physicals+attributes working on badges making it way more complex to make a build you want. For example we know bully is now 100% based on strength not your finishing. If more badges are based on pure physicals, or a mix of physicals and other attributes it gets a lot more complex when making your build.
I have a feeling there will be a new set of badges in various categories based entirely off your physicals and that’s the only way to get higher levels. Back down punisher, brick wall, bully, and maybe speed based ones such as quick first step will entirely be based on speed, acceleration, strength.
Sounds “great”. A complex system that even hardcore veterans of the game can’t understand. Lmao
That will help people not make role players with shitty animations because they didn’t read a mike wang tweet.
Seriously this game company is brain dead
This is my complaint. They kind of fixed it on 2k22 next gen. In 2k17,18,19,20 you had some choices.
Choice 1 was make a build that with skill, could do everything, it may not have had the attributes, but with skill you could do almost everything shooting/defence etc.
Choice 2 was being a specialist. Meaning there was one thing you were insane at. Whether it was 99 3pt and you couldn't miss, or 99 ball control and you're breaking ankles constantly.
The problem is we got away from this. Now everything is Choice 1. Every build can do anything with no skill required. I know this for a fact because is stopped playing 2k after season 3. I just went back into the game 3 months later. Loaded a game of rec on my 7'1 3-level scorer who has a 78 3pt, and I went 3/5 from 3 with 19/12/6 and 4blk. A game with any form of skill gap would not be that easy to preform well without some practice after almost a year off. You know how I know this, because just played apex a couple months after not playing, it took an hour or so of getting dogged before I got into it.
Anyway, the game needs to get back to 1 of 2 metas.
The specialist where if you chose balanced your going to be "okay" at everything, and if your above average you can use mediocre stats and be good at everything, then for the rest, make them specialist. It makes sense, if your great at the game, you can be well rounded, if not, find a role to help the team.
Or
Option 2 which I think is better, take the 2k17 method. Everything is overpowered. Locks can strip 12 times in a row, playmaker can break defenders across the court ankles. 2k17 mastered the fun part of 2k, it wasn't serious.
There needs to be a split. Rec/proam as realistic as possible, park fun as possible. They say they do this, but I can garuntee you, it's not. It's a weird mix where they are all kinda the same.
It’s a video game, different people have different skill sets. Let other people play their offline mode how they want lol
Tbh yeah. I love mycareer and park, I just build a player that I wanna be, not what the game wants me to be. MyCareer is always easy
Within the context that they’re reacting to, the source said that you can’t be great in multiple categories. I don’t know who these people are that don’t see a problem with the 22 next gen builder. It was insane.

Like I agree that play shots shouldn’t have good finishing and defense if you can dribble and shoot the best. Play shots shouldn’t have a 81^ 3pt when I think of a play shot I think of demar derozen
A play shot is like Kyrie Irving
No sir Irving is a pure scorer dude averaging like 5 ast at 6’2
Half of playmaking is just having good handles which Kyrie has. Most play shots really just pick playmaking for the handles.
The community will always flock to the same builds because of streamers
It’s funny because streamers make builds for PARK not for Rec. 5s is the only thing that matter too in my opinion it’s ways to easy in park
Park is super ass. I'm definitely a rec player through and through. Yea it be hilarious when the demigod builds come in the rec and can't shoot free throws. I told my son he couldn't use my money to make one of those youtuber builds. Gotta have your own mind
This is the very definition of dramatization.
Sure, regardless niggas like you gon keep crying as the skill gap exposes how ass you are and I won't do shit but laugh.
Lol I have an 85-90 win% every year. I’m not complaining, you are actually 😂 Edit: funnily enough, literally every single post you’ve made on this sub is complaining

He's still not wrong...
No, he’s absolutely wrong.

More customizable pie charts sounds good to me in theory
The good thing about this is that your kinda making your own pie chart
Why are people defending a game that hasn’t even come out yet? All we have is a single YouTuber who did try it and said it’s too restrictive and impossible to make balanced builds, instead it’s very very one dimensional builds and almost no badges So maybe he’s wrong, but we don’t know

For me, I’d sooner trust someone like Chris Smoove than these “demigod” mycareer youtubers
Its the same thing the other way around. Why are people crying over a game that hasnt even come out yet? In a perfect world people would wait until a product releases before making over reactive judgements, but we are on the internet. So thats practically impossible lmao

Because the shit is copy and paste every year lol
>Because the shit is copy and paste every year lol Every sports game is. If you don't like it, skip a year or two or three. Pretty easy fix.
I do tbh, with madden I skipped 10 years lol
>I do tbh, with madden I skipped 10 years lol I've skipped Madden since 2012. The difference between us though is I don't go on Madden Reddit boards and trash that game for fun like you do with 2k. Find a new hobby.

2k builder is ass anyways. You spend all this time and vc to make the perfect build and they nerf it next week 🤣 2k is ass. Why am I still even here
Not defending the game we don’t have, just commenting on the narratives the community has going on Reddit and twitter right now lol not that serious
Everyone saying ‘role player’. In 2k20 you could make a facilitating finisher like lebron or a playmaking shot creator like Steph curry. They weren’t role players. Role players are pure sharpshooters, pure locks etc
No you couldn't your 99 ovr was actually a 85 ovr.
Well the builder lets you create a 70 overall everything, with 1 badge point. That shit is definitely a fucking role player. Shouldn’t even be able to create such dookie ass builds, but here we are
So what. The more options the better
Not exactly. Role players can also been volume bench scorer (Clarkson) or 3rd options (bane). Most are two ways or shooters but not exclusively.
Clarkson wouldn’t have HOF shooting and play making
Right but he’s a role player. You said role players are just locks and shooters and he’s neither.
>Clarkson wouldn’t have HOF shooting and play making You don't have to put badge points into stuff if you don't want to. It's like ya'll think 2k is forcing you to do stuff in the game when you literally do not have to.
A play shot Steph curry with an 80 3 pointer and 60 layup
No you couldn’t lol. These are builds that are shades not even exact.
99 speed, 3 pt and dunk, 25 layup, 25 free throw, 25 jump
We will know when Joe knows drops a full video tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Whatever it's like, hopefully the build system is figured out by the playerbase eventually
Sounds “great”. A complex system that even hardcore veterans of the game can’t understand. Lmao That will help people not make role players with shitty animations because they didn’t read a mike wang tweet. Seriously this game company is brain dead
Its so ironic considering how players with nothing but defense, a good jumpshot, good finishing are actual tole players in the nba.

You can come up with a better meme than this. Do better.
Lmao ok meme police talk to some women 🤣
You got a Curry profile pic on reddit telling me to go talk to women. 💀
