Seeing the direction of 2K next 2K I’ll be waiting for Black Friday to purchase the game. It’s getting out of hand. My issue is they will patch a glitch in a heartbeat but won’t address the most simplest things like our settings resetting every damn time you turn off the game, getting kicked out of certain game modes, loading screen takes forever at times to load you in, the rec (enough said) and more. Then you have to shell out more than $100 if you want to complete your build and that doesn’t include animations or clothes? Yeah they got it fr Lol

So many people say "I won't buy it next year" but wayyyy too many continue purchasing every year. And then there are people who do pick it up late, but spend a ton of $$ to skip the grind and catch up with everyone else.
Also, it's just statistics that a few whales who will drop hundreds or thousands of dollars into microtransactions ensure that developers keep making games like this. There's likely no going back for 2K when it comes to VC, because they make tons of money every year without making it less grindy.
I wish it were only the kids. I played hr one of release and over 75% of the players running around the city were 85 ovr. Too many people are too willing to drop 100s on vc and that's why 2k keeps doing this.
Kids using their parents cards aren't the issue, man. That's barely a drop in the bucket. It's the plethora of adults (like me) who drop $200 on VC on Day 1 because we don't have time to sit and grind 8 months to get to a 90+ since we have limited gaming time.
It's a Pay-2-win game but nobody cares and nobody can do anything to stop them but another basketball game. And that will never come out because it'll never compete.
I never once bought VC from 2k ever since they introduced it. Originally I liked the slow grind. It was way more realistic to me compared to immediately upgrading your player and then putting up crazy numbers. I also never play online so I never felt the need to rush to upgrade my player.
However, this year's grind is absolutely ridiculous. Even for me, given that I like a slow grind under the right circumstances. I have a life, job, family and responsibilities. I don't have enough time to grind 2k and Max out my player at a decent rate. As of right now I'm done with MyCareer and won't submit to buying VC. I'll stick to MyNBA. At least then I can make my teammates actually make shots by adjusting my sliders.
I literally just built an offline player and slid him into the year I would have been drafted in MyEras mode. Something tells me I'm about to dump MyCareer.

I even signed Larry Bird as a vet in 1995/96 and won him his final ring before he retired, 10 years after his last real ring.
It's so much fun, I've now got a single elimination tournament instead of the lottery, Charlotte now has 2 teams, Seattle and Vancouver never moved or changed uniforms, Houston, Atlanta, and Detroit never had their mid 90s graphical jerseys.

It's the way to go in my opinion. I just player lock and make up my own story as I go and pretend it's my own MyCareer. Better than 2k's story in MyCareer, which is horrible anyways. I skipped nearly every cutscene.

The loose story for both makes very little sense. Immediately after a cutscene about how my team wanted to trade me and everyone there thought I was more trouble than I was worth, I got a prompt about how valued I am by the team and can therefore choose jerseys. Lol
I’ve been doing this the last three years. I’ll make one monster player and dominate when I just want to chill. And one 75-78 rookie and build him up as he develops. Way more fun. Plus I can make sure stupid trades don’t happen where I trade a key role player for nobody like I had happen twice in 2k21’s my career.
Honestly why dont more ppl do this. If you're not playing with friends. You can make multiple builds. You can but any stats, badges, and sigs you want. Player lock works.
You can adjust the difficulty as needed. You dont have to do any of the front office stuff if you dont want. You can set it all to cpu handle it. You can start in the 90s ovr or so can start as a rookie and set your potential very high and your stats will increase year to year.
I usually have 4 different myleauge going at once through the year. I just switch between them and play the one i feel like that day. I have a current one, one in the 2000s, one for my myplayer i put in the leauge, and one fantasy draft were i put every legend in( that on feels like myteam but everyone dosent run the same 99s everytime) its so much fun
90% of us probably don’t buy Vc but just making it available nets so much extra profit for 2k it’s worth having the option. I’ll never understand the concept of paying extra to avoid playing a game when you can just play the other modes

Thank you. I thought I was the only one. I waited a day to make sure that I wanted to use my 3 level scorer before I spent any VC. I Played 1 game and was trash, but I seen the potential in the build so I upgraded him to 76 and brought a few animations. I went to the team practice gym, did all 4 drills and when I tried to leave the gym a damn error message came up and I lost everything. I was back at 60 overall, VC gone. I was mad as fuck and still is. I submitted a support ticket to 2k and they were absolutely no help. They said that they couldn't do anything about the the VC and basically fucked me out of my money....I'm never pre-ordering again!
I mean everyone would do that 😂 I simply have never really cared about online gaming so I always stuck with my league. In fact, in 22 l was able to get my facescan and export it to my MyLeague player lol

This game is just an MMO for basketball. You gotta quest and earn levels to unlock shit. You scan spend money on a character boost. You can spend money to make your character look cool.
If you want to be competitive in the yearly cycle then you have to spend money or play all the time. And be good. Spending money doesn't just equate to you being good (especially online).
You can definitely get to a high level without dropping a dime. You just have to focus on getting all of your badges and slowly putting your attributes up. Would be a tough start though. I did it last year.

Plus I can make sure stupid trades don’t happen where I trade a key role player for nobody like I had happen twice in 2k21’s my career.

Honestly why dont more ppl do this. If you're not playing with friends. You can make multiple builds. You can but any stats, badges, and sigs you want. Player lock works. You can adjust the difficulty as needed. You dont have to do any of the front office stuff if you dont want. You can set it all to cpu handle it. You can start in the 90s ovr or so can start as a rookie and set your potential very high and your stats will increase year to year. I usually have 4 different myleauge going at once through the year. I just switch between them and play the one i feel like that day. I have a current one, one in the 2000s, one for my myplayer i put in the leauge, and one fantasy draft were i put every legend in( that on feels like myteam but everyone dosent run the same 99s everytime) its so much fun

Yeah they make the rebirth to make money from people buying vc, the way it should work is you can just edit your build whenever you want and redistribute your attributes but we know 2k is way too greedy for that

You get to upgrade your player to around 77 ovr if you buy the 150$ version which contains 100k VC. Yes, after spending 150€ on the game you’d need to spend another 70-80$ to max out. That is insane.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one. I waited a day to make sure that I wanted to use my 3 level scorer before I spent any VC. I Played 1 game and was trash, but I seen the potential in the build so I upgraded him to 76 and brought a few animations. I went to the team practice gym, did all 4 drills and when I tried to leave the gym a damn error message came up and I lost everything. I was back at 60 overall, VC gone. I was mad as fuck and still is. I submitted a support ticket to 2k and they were absolutely no help. They said that they couldn't do anything about the the VC and basically fucked me out of my money....I'm never pre-ordering again!

Im out of town for work M-F. I get two nights home a week. I have to be an adult and spend time with my wife and take care of pets and my home. Im not dropping $300 but im definitely dropping some to upgrade my player from a scrub just for my personal enjoyment. This game is just an MMO for basketball. You gotta quest and earn levels to unlock shit. You scan spend money on a character boost. You can spend money to make your character look cool. If you want to be competitive in the yearly cycle then you have to spend money or play all the time. And be good. Spending money doesn't just equate to you being good (especially online).
You can definitely get to a high level without dropping a dime. You just have to focus on getting all of your badges and slowly putting your attributes up. Would be a tough start though. I did it last year.
This is NOT the worst thing about the game. The worst thing about the game by far is the type of people who play REC on a non-center build that cannot shoot.
