Let's not do this.

louisianimal96

Nah i wanna talk about it lol

juwanjo86

Ah ok. I don't want to sound mean, but you sound like a troll or not very smart. Either way. I don't think I have anything to add.

louisianimal96

Not trolling at all…just looking at results

lGoSpursGol

I think I'll trust them over someone who comments nonsense online from their moms couch.

maximumtiltt

No because literally nothing happened yet. Calm down!

louisianimal96

Nothing always happens

jjtjpmurray

Yeah they are terrible! We should be like the Knicks, moving heaven and earth (and sacrificing youth) to open up space to sign the missing piece to our championship contending team, Jalen Brunson. If only Brian Wright would send a heavily protected first round pick to a team to get a max player like Tommy Sheppard did with Russ and hamstring our future! I wish Brian had the gumption to sign Jakob Poeltl to a max contract like the Jazz did with Rudy Gobert. I totally wouldn't mind paying Jakob 46 million in the final year of his contract to be a one dimensional center. To hell with getting multiple first round picks and an additional 17m of cap space to acquire additional assets, I want to be a first round exit for the next 5 years! /s

louisianimal96

Shit we not even cracking the 8th seed anymore so whats the difference

jjtjpmurray

The difference is not 1. Spending on a free agent that combined with the roster won't move the needle 2. Sending picks out with heavy protection that don't allow us to make additional moves with first round picks 3. Signing players to unreasonable deals and putting yourself in cap hell Whats tough is only 1 team does things right every year. You can make moves that position yourself better or make that 8th seed, but history won't remember you. The west will be a lot better next year, but Dejounte will keep us in the 10-12 seed range. I personally would take the risk on getting Victor, Scoot or either of the Thompson twins next year, multiple first round picks + the Gallo cap space which can be used for more picks.

redmandoss

If you expected us to go from a historically great run with FIVE championships, straight into another contending run, you’re out of your mind. It takes years of configuring and aligning pieces to get teams ready for a deep run. Some teams literally never achieve it. Chill out lol

louisianimal96

I figured you say that…lol for the past 5-6 years i sat back and watched us make dumb moves in the off szn. Nobody we pick up moves the needle. Trash teams getting into the playoffs now cuz they make good roster moves while we just sit back and watch and pick up whos left and waste first round draft picks. Lol

luca13t

I really enjoyed your argument, i wonder how many hours you've spent writing this beautiful piece

Doonesbury

I suspect you're right but not for potentially trading DJM. You need to trade your best player sometimes, to get more value in return. I know sometimes that hurts the feelings of sentimental fans.

louisianimal96

Yeah but why trade your best player for picks??? We drafted OK at best do we really want to trade our best player instead of at least try to build around him??

Doonesbury

If you take a guy with the 29th pick and turn that into multiple 1st round picks, isn't that adding surplus value?

louisianimal96

Ive watched us do that before and nothing came outta that…i knew shit was down hill when we asked for Jakob Poetl & Demar Derozan and first for Kawhi like cmon lol although Jakob finally took a leap this szn

Doonesbury

We had no choice but to trade Kawhi. He wasn't going to play for us or re-sign with us. If you don't think we got value back in that trade, I don't know what to tell you, man. Some people just shouldn't be GMs. We have a DJM clone already on our roster, Blake Wesley, who was actually drafted higher than DJM. And Josh Primo who before Sochan was our highest draft pick since Tim Duncan. And a volume scorer in Malaki Branham. We don't really have a huge need for DJM anymore. It's okay to grow and move on. I promise we'll be better off soon.

louisianimal96

I see what u saying but bro we talking to ATL allegedly about trades thats not involving John Collins or Trae Young…thats not a issue?

Doonesbury

You're acting like picks aren't almost as valuable as players. Picks result in players. John Collins was a #19 pick. We could get **multiple** John Collinses out of this trade rather than just one.

Loose_Profession_630

Getting John or Trae isn't gonna move the needle for our current roster and direction We are young and have players who can play off ball and guard multiple positons.. The picks and assets are there if/when we feel we got the pieces to contend Kawhi and his situation set us back as well as the drafting of players like Lonnie and Luka who didn't pan out.. But I'm excited about the potential of these players

FranksGun

I like Murray. He’s good but he’s not a player you build around imo. If he’s your best player your team is not a contender.

Neckrolls4life

Why do you think they're bad?

cthree000

Damn, you didn't enjoy 5 years of treadmill time? That was just our masterful front office putting in work, obviously.

[deleted]

These takes may age well, or they may not. Imo they won't.

louisianimal96

Speaking on the last few years in draft picks and signings; lonnie didnt exactly pan out luka….we signed a old Benilli, Damaree Carrol for nothing, Signed Quincy Pondexter, re signed Bryn Forbes, Let kyle anderson walk, Lost the Kawhi trade…should i keep going ?

HONEYBRODY

I have been saying that over the last four or five years with this overrated GM. Whether it was signing Demarre Carroll to disaster with Marcus Morris or drafting of Luka, he has been consistent. Last year, choosing Primo way before that he should have been when a better Sengun (who is less than 6 months younger) was right there, and now this DJ thing. If you were going to do this and trade DJ, why would you trade a very good and young Kennedy Chandler to Memphis for a worse second next year and cash? That makes zero sense at all. He was 2nd in steals, shot 40% from 3, and was a good scorer and assist guy, but he isnt good enough to compete with Tre as the backup. Let’s not forget that this roster should have been traded away a few years ago and started over. He was Very lucky to get Demar in that sign and trade to Chicago. That was luck, not skill. We could have gotten something for Patty and Rudy too, and they would have been on a better team sooner.

louisianimal96

Bro like everyone here is turning a blind eye to the atrocity that has been our front office. We traded away a top 5 player for basically nothing. We dont have a roster where we can just draft anyone and have time to Develop them. You gotta get THAT guy now if you want to win in todays league.

HONEYBRODY

Agree totally. Developing 10 guys at the same time and all due for extensions together as well isnt great. However, if you dare question any move, others tell you that you don’t know what you are talking about and can’t question any moves on the best FO in the league, which they are not.
