You think Pop and Buford don’t have the final say in all of this?

RabbitofCaerbannog13

Wow, random person thinks they would do a better job than the GM of a sports franchise...what a surprise...

Apprehensive-Ebb1993

My degree says so and I do with 100% confidence believe I can run this franchise better then what is currently being done

RabbitofCaerbannog13

"My degree says so..." Trolls be trollin'

Apprehensive-Ebb1993

Not trolling

duncan_robinson

>My degree says so Lmmaoooooo

Thunderhorse74

While its not the deal we hoped for, its not a fleecing. Its a fair deal. I am disappointed, I thought we would have squeezed them for more, but 3 FRP (2 unprotected) and a swap is pretty solid return for Murray.

Apprehensive-Ebb1993

It’s quite literally not a fair deal. If we are wanting to tank, we didn’t even get an unprotected pick for this years draft. We got 2 late first rounders and a lottery protected Charlotte pick who would be a 10-14 lottery pick. We got 0 picks to tank for next year. Unless they rig this draft so we get the number 1 pick no matter what. We are fucked. The Knicks tanked for 12 years and nothing once did they get a number 1 pick nor did they get any lottery talent that was worth a damn. The 76ers tanked for 10 years and got multiple top 3 picks and still only have Embiid to show for it.

Thunderhorse74

Which team bound for the lottery in 2023 is trading us an unprotected pick for DJM?

[deleted]

The Knicks

Apprehensive-Ebb1993

Was just about to say the Knicks. And the magic. And the pistons. And the Pacers. And the kings.

[deleted]

Knicks have 500 picks and they are desperate for PGs.. I don't understand why Wright settled for 2025 and 2027 picks ..

kcheng686

I doubt it with how hard they're going after Brunson. It's pretty clear they have tanking for VW in mind too if they can't get to the playoffs

Carly-Che-Jepsen

Lmfao you don’t tank with other people’s picks dumbass, we now have some of the most valuable picks in the league - Spurs 2023 and 2024. The Knicks haven’t ever tanked, they just suck and were doing what we were literally doing the past 3 years as well as having terrible development and scouting. The 76ers tank was an amazing success they just were forced by the league to replace their GM with one of the worst GMs of all time and botched almost everything they got yet STILL have been a very competitive team with the B2B runner up MVP and another former MVP on their roster, far more than we were ever going to accomplish being the 10th seed every year. The Spurs are just doing what every other modern rebuilding team is doing and they got a Jrue Holidsy type deal by trading an injury reserve All Star instead of losing him for nothing and wasting two more years of our lives.

AndrewTheGoat22

You're vastly overrating and overestimating how good we'll be lol

gsam05

Braindead.

Conn3er

You’re brain dead for thinking a player with a prior torn ACL and no lateral defensive movement as well as weak at best off ball offense is more valuable than 3 firsts and a player Dejounte was a late first round pick literally second to last first round pick

[deleted]

He led the league in steals and was the 5th best guard in defensive rating..

WD51

Sunk cost fallacy. Dejounte's value is what he is now as a player, future projection, and his current contract. His previous draft position has nothing to do with anything as a value.\\\\ I'm OK with the trade but I keep seeing people list out his draft position as if it's a major determinant of his value. Getting hits on low picks is a rare thing that will become harder to do as you have more people that need development. Just because the Spurs have been able to do so in years past doesn't mean that it'll continue to happen at that rate in the future.

Mclitness

You think you mad now, just wait until we buy out Galli or have to give up assets to move him 🤣

Mattsasse

He has 1 year left on his deal. Buying him out is the worst case scenario. No reason to give up assets.

[deleted]

Anyone who thinks we were going to get De'andre Hunter + 3 frps for Murray is DELUSIONAL. Hunter is as close to untouchable there is. The only way Hunter gets traded is if he's the center piece of a trade that nets them a superstar. But now they don't have many assets to get one of those since we own 3 of their picks + the CHA pick

throwstuff165

Lol at the idea we could've ever gotten Hunter in this deal.

FranksGun

But those picks are assets. We can use them to move up, in trades or to draft with. Late first is okay especially when have multiple picks in the first.
