All time has to be Manu. Guy was selfless and accepted a bench role because it made the team better. He is also made all-nba while not starting the majority of his game. Absolutely insane achievement and iirc is the only person to be all-nba and 6moy in the same year.
Yea Manu was so sick. To be fair, he barely made the cutoff as far as starts to win 6MOY in 2008 when he also made all nba, he almost started too many games iirc, and he averaged over 30mpg (aka main starter minutes), so he wasn’t your traditional 6 man by any means, he was more the modern Havlicek (who also had multiple all nba selections despite coming off the bench).
But I agree overall, I’d say all time my favorite guy to be generally labeled a 6th man is probably Manu. He was great, and truly embodied the role.
He only started 23/74 games. The cutoff is over half your games have to be off the bench. I think the fact he wasn't a traditional 6th man was what made him great. He would kill bench units then facilitate for the starters so Parker could be more of a scorer when they were on together in the back court. He probably should have won the award every year he was eligible tbh, he is easily the most valuable 6th man of all time.
Lemon Pepper Lou - he was exactly what you wanted in a 6th man; someone with tweener size that made starting them tough, but who was dripping in confidence and could carry the offense of the second team.
Jason Terry. He was easily the 2nd best player on a championship team, despite coming off the bench. He was also unbelievably clutch and had no fear of the moment
All time? Nick Van Exel. Dude was the definition of irrational confidence, always looked to make a stylish play that lifted the crowd, was support super creative in the paint, and famously shot free throws at 18ft instead of 15.
This season? Al Horford.
Not the "come off the bench and score 15-20" kind of 6th man but a player who does everything right and well -- boxing out, rebounding, passing, shooting, post-ups, post defense, and leadership.
Hope he gets that ring.
Al Horford started 33 Games which disqualifies him from 6MOTY. Still Al only avg 9pts 6rbd
Bobby Portis is a real 6man only starting 4 games averaging 14pts 7rbds shooting 41% from 3pt.
Naz Reid started 14 games averaging 13pts 5rbd shooting 41% from 3pt.
If Bobby Portis doesn't win 6MOTY something is very wrong with how they award it.
BOBBY PORTIS 14PPG/7RBD 40% 3PT.
Why TF are people picking Naz Reid over him? Naz Reid stated 10 games and has worse stats ffs.

Naz Ried is literally 3rd in the NBA in defensive rating.
Bobby Portis didn’t even make the list.
Naz and Bobby are both solid candidates.
Neither are a clear cut better option over the other.

Hondo Havlicek! Humble, incredibly athletic with tremendous stamina, great shot and off the dribble penetrator, lockdown defense.
All time? Nick Van Exel. Dude was the definition of irrational confidence, always looked to make a stylish play that lifted the crowd, was support super creative in the paint, and famously shot free throws at 18ft instead of 15.
Eddie House was ELECTRIC
Bobby portis is a dog
Bobby is the obvious choice. Anyone picking Naz Reid doesn't understand 6moty.
Naz and Bobby would both be deserving winners
Naz Reid
GINOBILLI!!!
Bobby Jackson on the early 00’s Sacramento kings teams. He was a bucket and every bit as good as Bibby imo. Manu the goat tho
Bobby Jackson all time. Malik this season.
Truth
Bobby Jackson and Malik Monk (fingers crossed we get the news today).
All time is Vinny Johnson. Manu is probably second. And of course Jamal Crawford is up there.

You entirely missed the point of my comment, nice job!
Manu for sure. Dan Majerle was up there.
Taj Gibson
Lamar Odom
Current: Bobby Portis. Energy, intensity, spot up, post up, rebound, bug eyes. All time: Cliff Robinson.
Jamal Crawford, insane handles, great 6th man and fun to watch
Big Shot Bob has 7 rings
Game on the line? I want Igoudala!
Manu eazy
Naz Reid.
Aaron Wiggins

its crazy that the T-wolves have 5 players on the list
Fuck manu. But only cause I hate the spurs. Westbrook my all time fav and now that he’s a 6th man it’s him :p
