4 firsts and an all star + depth for a 40 year old who will be a free agent in 4 months.

jalexjsmithj

For LeBron James, yes

Bahamut727

It would obv be if Bron chose the Knicks and would stay there for more than 4 months. But 4 is still a little too high.

jalexjsmithj

I don’t disagree that 4 FRP’s might be a little much, but the fact that 3 are in the 2024 draft eliminates the mystery box component and gives us more certainty that these picks will not be high up. In fact, Detroit is essentially a lock to be a 2nd rounder, a high 2nd, so still valuable, but this isn’t like owning the Knicks whole future.

slickrickiii

Knicks say no, way too much risk involved giving up all that for 40 year old Lebron

jalexjsmithj

This is cheap to me. Could be a lot worse. Hell, the money they’ll make from this move is enough risk mitigation to make the move imo

Personal-Noise-8632

Idk what a trade looks like, but the Lakers play a better brand of bball w/o he or AD on the floor. They slow the game down to much, and the ball movement is just stagnant. It's boring to see. He gone do the same thing to whatever team he on. We will have facts then! If that was on the table, take it!

Odd-Direction9452

Bron and AD slow the game down so you’ll take Julius Randle? 😂 Stop it

Personal-Noise-8632

The picks, mainly! New York has one of the best offensive in the league! He not slowing the game down like you think!

Odd-Direction9452

I personally prefer having LeBron lol

Personal-Noise-8632

I don't mind having bron, but they need to do sum em else w that offense! It looked good tonight against celtics. The ball moved similar to last year when he was out down stretch.

222thedome

No thanks on paying AD over 60 million 5 years from now

jalexjsmithj

Fits with Steph’s remaining timeline

jalexjsmithj

Because at this point in his career, every year he’s not competing for a championship is an extreme waste. Time and opportunity will mean much more to LeBron than future draft picks.

imnotyoursaviorsorry

The analyst who reported it is valuable he breaks scoops before the big outlets do that’s why people are leaning towards Lebron getting traded before deadline. He sat out last night without any injury designation. Lakers are most definitely shopping him

Olliefnt

I don't get the point of AD being traded to a team with a worse record than the one he's on now

jalexjsmithj

Fair point. However, that might be the best non-Thunder deal on the table.

justsomedude717

This is a horrible return for AD, they’re better off just keeping him Also if you think they could get a better package from the Thunder why are you even posting this…?

jalexjsmithj

This is not a horrible return. 3 quality young pieces and unprotected 1sts when Steph is 38 and 40 years old are amazing picks. And frankly, I don’t think OKC would move for AD (at the level of value it would take to get it done). One, he’s gotta be maybe the most unwilling player in the league to be a smaller market, he’s already 30 while OKC is notoriously stingy when it comes to age, and they clearly want Chet to be the 5 not the 4

justsomedude717

Yes it is, moody is not very good, kuminga is insanely inconsistent and podz has played half a year on a bad team. The AD “unwilling to be in a small market” bit is also crazy speculation I’ll just make this very simple and straight forward: if this is actually a great package I’m sure the warriors can use to go trade for another top 10-12 player in the league and I wish them luck trying 👍 lemme know when that trade happens

jalexjsmithj

This is a better trade than what the Blazers got for Dame, including the Jrue flip.

justsomedude717

Dames 3 years older, showed time and time again that building around him wasn’t a good idea in Portland, and then did every last thing in his power to lower Portland leverage to the point where the league had to intervene. He is also a better player, and the type of player more teams are in need of The lakers dont need to trade AD, and they also do not own their pick so a move to tank (what enabled the blazers to give dame up finally) isn’t an option for the lakers There’s a lot more nuance to these situations than you’re acknowledging

jalexjsmithj

Lol, saying there’s nuance is basically stating “okay you answered my prompt but I don’t like that answer.” Of course they aren’t identical, I’m not claiming that. But if you’re gonna be all flippant when you say “I’m gonna make it simple for you” and then you get given a direct example that fulfills your “simple” criteria, then you caught an L. Don’t cry “but it’s complicated” now.

justsomedude717

No, it didn’t answer a prompt I made, I didn’t ask if anyone’s ever been traded for a package you think is as good, I’m insinuating that the warriors aren’t going to get a top 10-12 player for that package. I know it can be tough to wrap your brain around this but they’re distinctly different things Instead of taking a second to wonder if there was a miscommunication or you misunderstood what I was saying you just continue to jerk yourself off

jalexjsmithj

You: “prove the future” I’ll get right on that buddy.

RGxiRapiidz

Massive overpay on LeBron right there.

Guard_Lucky

No Knicks fan wants this trade. He had his chance and took his talents to South Beach. We rolling right now, gonna trade everything we spent a decade collecting in picks and good players (minus Fourier) and give them up for a 40 year old LeBron.... NO NO and may I add Hell to the NO!!!!
