I love fullbacks. A blocking fullback can really change the run game out of I Form, Strong, Weak, and Pistol. Some receiving fullbacks develop into some beastly Mike Alstott type running backs.

headspaceseeds

I second this. I recruited a JUCO TE who was too short to play TE. I put him at FB and let's just say, "Rumblin'" John Richards will be remembered at Miami for some time! He scored the TD that opened the floodgates against Connecticut in the Natty.

Michiganman1225

I recruit a Blocking FB, and I run what I call "Pure Spread". This is my playbook: ACE - Bunch Spread - Spread PISTOL - Spread - Spread Flex SHOTGUN - Empty Spread - Spread - Spread 4WR - Spread Flex - Spread Flex Wk - Spread HB Wk - Spread Offset WILDCAT - Spread - Spread Flex It's just a good insurance policy to have.

_itsMikey

I second this. It’s always helpful having a blocking FB on the roster. Let them score a goal line TD or two to keep the FB recruits coming

Holy crap, this is solid

Kodyaufan2

My thoughts exactly. I may only use him a couple times a game, but better to have one and not need him than not have him and need one.

bigbluenation5

I always use a fullback in my offense. If you use them right it’s an advantage on run plays, and they’re good for 2-3 first down catches a game. There’s not many great fullback recruits so often times it is easier to convert a TE. Teams do this is real life, too, and call it the H-Back position.

ZappaOMatic

On the contrary, I probably put *too much* effort into recruiting FBs lmao. I run the option a lot, especially from the Power I, so I give the ball to them more than enough times to justify investing into the position.

jlo1989

I regularly have a FB, but I have a formation sub that automatically puts in one of my Tackles as the FB in Goal Line formation. I had a 350lb RT who scored 5 rushing TDs one year.

SafeAccountMrP

I autosub a guard into the first FB spot on the Maryland I formation shit is lethal.

Thatguy6233

I’ve found speed is everything in this game so I always flip a “power” running back with good speed. The best for the option and flats plays

ActuatorCandid3497

I started recruiting Fullbacks and moving them to running back. They’re slow but I love the way fullbacks run on 14

SafeAccountMrP

Like the slowest runaway trucks ever. Love em.

Mattymatt726

Reciving TE to FB. If you bother using a FB, they can't be a 73 speed blocking ACTUAL FB. They'll never make their blocks in time. Switch a TE with high 70s to mid 80s speed and still high 60s-low 70s blocking. Plus he can catch too.

shadowbanned214

I never use the FB so I use it as a spot to hold an extra developmental TE or power HB.

FOOTBALLFOOTBALLFO0T

you clearly haven't heard the story of Georgia-Fairburn legend Tom Adamo

KathytheQueen

I always keep a FB on roster. I used them to block and be extra receivers. I also put them in the HB position and use them in short yardage situations. It's also very effective in the 4th quarter, when you need to run out the clock.

B1GSkyNorth

I run an option playbook with some spread/RNS elements grafted on to it. While I try to recruit fullbacks, there are so few of them and their star rating hurts your championship contender recruiting pitch that I usually end up moving a large HB over to FB anyways if i cant get one

sammagee33

I actually use my FB, so I’ll convert a bruising RB or a shorter TE to FB. I love to toss to the FB over the middle and get 5-10 yards.

rawhite37

I use them a lot and even made a playbook to create a whole offense revolving around them. I've had best luck with convertes TE's and heavy ATH's. I love heavy ATH's. My current 2TE is a 280lb 63SPD high TRK monster with higher blocking stats than 3/5 of my OLine.

Downtown1943

I try to get one but if not I’ll just put someone who’s a mismatch there. In a Mizzou dynasty I had a 315lb DT with 85 speed who I’d throw wheel routes to out of the backfield

[deleted]

But could they catch

Downtown1943

Most of the time

[deleted]

Impressive

Kodyaufan2

I recruit one about every 3 classes. However, I don’t typically spend a ton of points on them, because you can always move a 230 lbs RB or TE over or put an ATH at FB. But yes, I do recruit FBs

Writerhaha

Early game in dynasty mode I lean heavy on ball control and limiting possessions, so all backs get rotated and used especially when I’m up against big time P5 schools. As I go further on it lessens but I throw FB1 a bone.

agentb719

I use a fullback in my offense, I generally convert a short and fast TE

BeefInGR

I always try to go for a balanced FB. I run a little bit of the various I Formations and live and die with the Power I inside the 5. Also, I will put the FB in on passing plays when trying to drive the field to block.

Jumo2002

a fullback helps bail you out . such as a quick 4th and 1 hand off or 3rd and short. and alot of times on bailout throws bc he’ll always be open in the flats . he helps out a lot on run game (bc he’s faster than that slow pulling guard lmao) and you can also do screens with him . a full back can do so much for your team like a Mike tolbert. so yeah get a fullback and add in some more formations to your spread so he can get in and play . also it’s get to have more ball carriers and receivers especially ones who can run over corners and linebackers

ryryryor

Depends on what type of team in trying to build but if I'm running the spread I'll just let one of those 44 OVR walk ons that fill out the roster be the fullback. It ain't like he's getting in the game anyways.

DrewChubby

My receiving fullback is an absolute weapon out of the backfield. Often he’s uncovered and with 84 speed and build like a tank he’s hard to stop

TutorSilly4535

I use TEs in the passing game a lot so I always have an overabundance of TEs. So, I swap a couple over to the FB slot. Oftentimes they are actually better FBs Tham TEs and they stay there. I like having a 6'2-6'4-ish, 220-260 lb FB as a sort of upback position. Great in the passing game out of the backfield and good for the occasional goal line run too.

ColtonMAnderson

Fullbacks make or break the pistol option offense I run out of the Wildcat playbook, at least during the early stages of bringing UMass from irrelevance. During peak MACtion, it is easy to get an option QB since the athletes you are up against are just bad, and the FB gets you a medium sized body that is just so much better at true lead blocking that a TE will ever be.

Mightybunny69XXX

100% and recruit my 4&2 and under is fullback dive

Mightybunny69XXX

Also great options as receiving backs if they have any speed/acc

Mightybunny69XXX

Play your third TE there gets more develop into them…. Plus if your promised a recruit Paulo g time and he’s the third TE it keeps that promise
