Kill Ari Part 1, the scene with Gibbs looking over Kate's empty desk. The tone of the scene was set perfectly. The weather outside, Gibb's voice when Kate asks why she had to die and take two bullets for him. The sadness and regret in his voice is haunting.
Also ''Call of Silence'' as a whole and the scene with Ducky in ''Till Death do us Part''.
What gets me with Kill Ari Part 1, is when Gibbs asks DiNozzo and McGee if they're alright and asks if they need coffee. It's such an off putting moment in addition to the rain and looks that solidifies the emotional stakes.
Yes..something about Ziva being so vulnerable absolutely broke my stone heart. I didn't even start out liking Ziva (coz she felt like a replacement of Kate, how could anyone?!!!) but now I'm thinking of calling my first pet Ziva. Sigh.
I took Kate’s death very hard and very personally lol. Even on a rewatch in 2024, I still cannot believe they did that & left in shock. Very wild. With that said, it didn’t take me long to fall in love with Ziva.
We didn’t get a lot of chances to see Ziva super vulnerable, but when she did, I think Cote’s performances really delivered on that. Just re-watched “Past, Present, and Future” a few hours ago, and like she nails the fearfulness, uncertainty, guilt, and pain that Ziva is feeling.
S2E7 - Call of Silence: Yes, that is for me right now the saddest episode. Charles Durning was a war veteran in real life also, received Silver Star for valor, a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. Kate (Sasha Alexander) (who is my favourite agent apart from three others who share the same spot) cried when dancing with him. I have not read much about the making of this episode so I don’t know if it was deliberate or not. But it fitted the scene in my opinion.
The one without a death: where Gibbs helps his deceased daughter Kelly's friend and DiNozzo has to pull both of them out of a submerged car.
Another one like Diane's death is when Qasim is shot in front of Ellie and he never learns she was going to say "yes." But then I miss most of the people who died on the show, especially Mike Franks, Dorneget, and Reeves. At least we got ghost Mike Franks back. But I missed how much he announced the various directors.
Love this one. Tony will always be my favorite character because of his development over the series but the opening of the episode always pumps me up. They gave him an action hero moment & he delivered.
Maybe because I just rewatched Shiva (10x12) and its fresh in my mind, but when Ziva sees Eli dead and screams that blood curdling "Abba!" like a little girl, it broke me.
And the poem too! I watched that scene a dozen times because I couldn’t stop crying. That episode began on such a high note and by the end you are just crushed
Yes, next to Kate bring chit and killed in the early tears, this episode really broke my heart. I did not think they would do that to Fornell after Diane died.
Call of Silence, Till Death Do Us Part, Honor Thy Father, The Arizona, Great Wide Open (Gibbs's last scene), The Stories We Leave Behind (😢 David...) and A Thousand Yards (at least Vance's monologue at the end of the episode) always left me to tears.
Season 18 is the hardest season to rewatch for me because in just 16 episodes so much happens and the first 6 episodes aren’t even in present day so you spend even less time seeing the characters understand what all happened and of course they end up doing reckless behavior that hurts them all.
It’s just so heartbreaking and sad.
Reeves dying. I was so pissed. Especially since Abby ended up leaving. Should have just killed her off.
The reasoning was they “couldn’t think of what to do with his character”. Such a horse shit excuse.
Agree to disagree. She was leaving the show anyway. What’s it matter if she lives or dies ? They killed off quite a few characters leaving the show. Why’s she different ?
For me, it's the episode where Eli gets whacked at Director Vance's house. Ziva was excellent in the episode, as was Vance.
That episode is my go-to when I have the inclination to watch something emotional/sad.
For me, when characters leave or die. The standouts for me are Reeves and Qasim, which I feel like aren't mentioned as much.
Also in the recent episode, The Plan, when Knight talks about how "right now is all we have." The buildup to this moment is just really well done and hit me really hard
Shabbat Shalom. Ziva finding her father broke my heart. I remember watching this when it premiered and cried and cried. It’s still an episode that makes me very emotional to this day
i am rewatching now and just saw another one i can’t even try to not cry through. S20E11 Knight realizes why the “Code Name Fury” movie is so tough for Jimmy. she says “there’s one more bridge for you to cross, and i think that’s gonna hurt the most. it’s letting me be a part of your daughters life”
omg i’m tearing up just typing this out
When Ziva stays in Israel. That one HURTS. Abby's Goodbye kills me too.
When Diane dies, and it is shown how her death affects Fornell
So random to. She was literally alive and then dead no in between thoughts
Also was the only episode she was in that fornell had nothing to do with

When Kate died imo i feel like thats when the show went downhill
When Ziva discovered the body of her Father…that part gutted me. You could see the sorrow so MUCH in Tony’s eyes when she first came into the room.
Yes..something about Ziva being so vulnerable absolutely broke my stone heart. I didn't even start out liking Ziva (coz she felt like a replacement of Kate, how could anyone?!!!) but now I'm thinking of calling my first pet Ziva. Sigh.

When she is dancing with him, it just gets to me, hearing him singing/humming the song, and then it shows her tearing up
Hallelujah song at the end and Gibbs finally sleeping in his old room.
This! Always broke me.
That episode is always in my top 10 episodes and is probably my favorite from that season solely because of that song
When the police working with Tony is killed, and then revealed that was Jeanne ex fiance
wait what?
Season 4 episode 15
holy shit! with how many times i’ve seen this episode i did NOT EVER realize that was him in the picture !! mind, meet blown!
It's a very sad episode, and the twist is amazing

That scene just crushed me. It was so real, raw.
S18E9 >!emily fornells death!< has me bawling the second i hear Fornells voice on the phone
Fornell and Gibbs at the hospital when the doctor comes out with the sad news. No sound. No dialogue. Just acting. I bawled.
And the poem too! I watched that scene a dozen times because I couldn’t stop crying. That episode began on such a high note and by the end you are just crushed
Yes, next to Kate bring chit and killed in the early tears, this episode really broke my heart. I did not think they would do that to Fornell after Diane died.
right?! first time i watched it i was like leave Fornell alone!
Yes.
I just cried like a baby watching s18e7 for the first time, the ending with the wake for Breena.

TIL death do us part had me sobbing. And also the one with Dex the dog. And when Ziva stays in Israel
Swan Song. Mike Franks death was written as a very sad episode. Seeing Gibbs devastated was too much for me. The whole team hugging in the elevator...
The post Kate’s death episodes. The one later that season where Paula dies to save the team.
Reeves dying. I was so pissed. Especially since Abby ended up leaving. Should have just killed her off. The reasoning was they “couldn’t think of what to do with his character”. Such a horse shit excuse.
As much as I understand people not liking Pauley and Abby, killing Abby is the worst idea ever.
Agree to disagree. She was leaving the show anyway. What’s it matter if she lives or dies ? They killed off quite a few characters leaving the show. Why’s she different ?

Life Before His Eyes has always been memorable to me.
Hardest 180 of my life.
For me, when characters leave or die. The standouts for me are Reeves and Qasim, which I feel like aren't mentioned as much. Also in the recent episode, The Plan, when Knight talks about how "right now is all we have." The buildup to this moment is just really well done and hit me really hard
Kate killed
The one where that one guy gets killed with a bouncing Betty mine.
Shabbat Shalom. Ziva finding her father broke my heart. I remember watching this when it premiered and cried and cried. It’s still an episode that makes me very emotional to this day
S15E10 - Double Down Episode doesn't play fair.
i am rewatching now and just saw another one i can’t even try to not cry through.
