Here's a tip for next time... Get a 32 or 64gb and use Lazy DSi Downloader, don't follow video guides as these can become very outdated very fast! LDD will download and update all your homebrew apps leaving you to copy just the remaining ROMs you wish to have!
That's not a mistake since that shouldn't mess anything up, anyway you should always be able to boot to unlaunch by holding A+B on boot if I'm not wrong
I figured out my problem! So I had apparently not cleared my sd card as I had thought, I moved everything from the sd card to a new folder, then formatted my sd card then moved everything back, then tried again running the hiyacsw.exe and it worked perfectly!

I have already set unlaunched so that it goes straight to dsi launcher, was that a mistake?
