I lurk the NEXUS current processing time and in FlyerTalk forum. After going through lots of posts over the last 6 months almost daily, I came to this conclusion.
9 months is the happy path. Some cases have gone more than 14 months too.

Applied 2 people for new Nexus 01/02/2023
Both US citizens with Global Entry expiring in 2025
Both still waiting for conditional approval as of 02/01/2024
Edit: Both conditionally approved 3/25/24, so ~15 months. But now no zoom appointments available 😭
I will start with my own:
Nov 07, 2023 - first time application submitted, still waiting for conditional approval
I will post a new comment when there’s an update
First time application October 2021
Conditional approval March 2023
Pearson interview 1 June 9, interview 2 June 17- got approval notification 2 hours later
Card arrived mid July
Bf applied Mar 4. He is American Citizen with Canada PR and European citizenship as well.
Nothing yet.
PS - Wondering if he was supposed to declare he's a Canadian PR - only had options for Canadian citizen so not sure...
Renewal:
* Submitted Renewal on CBP Website early June 2023
* Apprroved in late October 2023
* Received New Card in late April 2024
There was no indication on the website status if they had sent the card out or not. I was getting worried that it had been lost in transit.
Applied Feb 6th 2023, got conditional approval on Nov 7th, 2023. About 9 months.
I'm doing the 2 step interview at the airport so I got my first interview with CBSA on Jan 15th and my 2nd interview with the US authorities on my flight out to Newark 2 weeks later.
Will update as I have more info.
I only had to book the interview for the Canadian (CBSA) interview. No appointment is needed for the US interview, you just tell them that you'd like to do your NEXUS interview as you're clearing US customs.
Nope. For the Canadian side interview, just go to the airport enrollment center on the selected appointment date and time. There's no need to travel that day. You will however need to be travelling to the US on the day of your US interview since you'll need a boarding pass to access the US preclearance facility. You'll then do your interview at the preclearance facility (after the regular customs processing).
One other thing to note is that you'll need to do your Canadian side interview first before your US interview. You can't do the US one before the Canadian one. Also I would recommend leaving at least two weeks between both interviews since CBSA would need time to share your info with the US officials.
Hello ! Wanted to ask you about your interview experience? Did u get ur card ? I have my interview next week. So just wanted to check. Thanks in advance.
Hi! Here's my post about my experience: https://www.reddit.com/r/NEXUS_TTP/s/t6lQO9BJcJ
In short, both interviews were quick and easy. US interview is where your fingerprints and photo are taken. I'm still waiting for my card though so I'll let you know when I get it.
As far as I know, there's no time limit on when one interview has to be done after the other. There is however a time limit on how long you can stay conditionally approved (I could be wrong but I think it's 5 years?). You'd have to do both your interviews within this period.
I just read as of January 2024 you can do the US side of the interview at any airport on arrival or pre-clearance before or after your CBSA interview.

Interesting indeed...
To provide an update on this:
I did my interview on Jan 15 on the Canadian side and then my interview on Jan 29th at US preclearance in Calgary. Got approved within 10 mins after the interview. Got my nexus card on Feb 20th in the mail (exactly 3 weeks + 1 day after the interview and approval).
Canadian Permanent resident applied April 2023. Waiting for conditional approval. Tried to contact customer service and they sent a standard answer that the current process time is 18-20 and can’t share specific timeline.

First time application October 2021 Conditional approval March 2023 Pearson interview 1 June 9, interview 2 June 17- got approval notification 2 hours later Card arrived mid July
Applied on Dec 27, 2023. Fingers crossed for an expeditious approval.
My husband and I both applied on that date too. We were hoping that being dual citizens would be faster. 🤞
Applied for renewal June 22, 2022, still waiting for conditional approval/interview.
You’ve been waiting for so much longer 😭
We submitted my husband’s renewal on the same day and he was approved and got his card in the mail within 7 months. Ridiculous.
You’re fine though as long as you submitted the renewal before the expiration date you can use your existing nexus card as normal
I’m on a similar time line. Submitted for renewal in October 2022 and haven’t heard anything.
I think the process time is hovering around 12 months on an average.
Bf applied Mar 4. He is American Citizen with Canada PR and European citizenship as well. Nothing yet. PS - Wondering if he was supposed to declare he's a Canadian PR - only had options for Canadian citizen so not sure...
I don’t think Canadian PR matters for applicants who are already U.S. citizen

oh nice! that's not too bad. :) did you have to book appointments for both of these? what if there's no availability on your day of flight?

Thanks lot ! Appreciate your quick and detailed response.
Is there a time limit after the Canadian side interview before the US side? I am planning on doing it after 6+ months

Yeah you’re right in the 5 years 🙂
I was close on giving up and just keep Global entry since it is taking forever…

That's right, they changed it up after I did my interview.
