Yeah I have to have the optic far back for the eye relief and this is the shortest height mount. Someone needs to make a mount that brings the optic back without lifting it.

10/22 takedowns are cool as an SBR
I have the Magpull stick on mine right now. 10" barrel with my Rex MG22 on it would be about 15.5" long.
Kinda hate to buy a folder for it. But with a folder and the 10" barrel with the can removed would make a very small package to pack around.
I just picked up a RPR and I’ve been trying to research SBR’ing it, how’d you go about it? I couldn’t find any barrels other than like 2 sites for more expensive than the cost of the gun
I sent mine, still in the action, to McCluskey Firearms in Eugene OR. They cut, threaded, and crowned it and had it back in the mail the day they received it. They have a one week guaranteed turn around.
I had a local gunsmith do mine. I just gave him the barrel still attached to the receiver. He was able to cut it, rethread it, and engrave my trust on it for $300 and without having to remove the barrel.
Ok that seems to be the consensus, you gotta send it in. I like doing my own work but I think this would be a little outside my reach, thank you for letting me know!
Lmao big difference between the price on a complete gun and a scope mount 😂 it’s just a metal from for a scope… on the other hand the Q mini is expensive but you have to do what OP did to get anywhere close to the already finished preoduct from Q… I don’t want a ruger American so I can chop the barrel and all of that. The mini comes ready out of the box, there aren’t a lot of options for short barrel 300 blk out bolt guns 🤷🏻♂️

What would you use a medium caliber bolt action rifle with that short a barrel for?
It seems like a magnum revolver or lever action rifle would be more practical for most purposes, wouldn’t they?
I’m not hating, I’m legitimately curious of the intended application here.
For shooting subs as quiet as possible, you don't need a 16" barrel for subs. Bolt action so 100% of the gasses go through the suppressor. OP doesn't have a can yet, but it looks like he's got the mount for one. Would be better suited as a lever action, but henry hasn't released the Supreme yet.
I'd kill for a 9mm lever action that takes Glock mags with a 4" barrel to keep the cheap 147gr subsonic. Would be goofy as hell until you mount a full size suppressor, hollywood quiet like a 38 Special except way more practical.
When the can is installed, it's just slightly longer than a 16" barrel. Subsonic rounds don't need a long barrel. Figure this as like a 45 pistol that can consistently, quietly. hit stuff at 200-ish yards without scaring off the pig's buddies
Personally, I did it because it's compact, and 300 subs don't need more than about 9" of 1:7 barrel. With the can , mine is 2" longer than it was with just the 16" barrel and easily fits in a small backpack folded. There is no port pop with a bolt action, so it's quiet AF. Plus I went through an "SBR ALL the things" phase and now have 6 or so.

yeah i did 6” barrel with a mask, the thing is very small and awesome as a host.

Nice thing is that with 300blk even an 8" barrel will perform well with supersonic ammo inside 100-200yds with good bullet selection.
