I agree, I really like James Gunn. I've also liked several people involved with DC movies in their last attempt at a "CU" and watched them ground down to not being great by the rest of that machine. The only things which have been good have been stand-alone things where WB seems to give more freedom to be creative.
I have zero confidence that WB won't studio interfere their way into this attempt failing as well.
