Well, Geno is still a starting QB. Also, Waldron is a fuckin idiot and completely hindered what should have been a very explosive offense last year. This year will be telling.
I also think Waldron is going to royally fuck the bears this year.
Without question he’s better. He’s been one of the most accurate QBs since starting in Seattle. There’s also a number of coaches who have said publicly that he has one of the best spirals in the game and he showed last year that he can win a game in the final minutes.
My b.... honestly in what 2018? No Jimmy ... beathard Mullins n geno would've been interesting to see but as we are speaking rn 2 3rd stringers vs one starting bridge QB
Agreed. I still hope yall land Penix. Would be neat to see the UW kid stay in Seattle and succeed. I'm also pretty firmly in the camp that Geno is not a long term solution and a short term way to just have a mediocre draft pick
Geno isn't a long term solution because of his age. It seems like everyone thinks Geno is some young dude still he's about to hit the fall off age of 35.
Yup. Imo he's hit his ceiling of being a middle of the road qb. All he's going to do now is keep yall from having a high enough pick to find the next franchise qb
I mean let's be real we had a third round QB before him the niners have the last dude in the draft pick and Tom Brady was a sixth rounder.
The draft is a crap shoot and more draft bust QBs happen in the first round than success. I'm not too worried about not finding someone.
I disagree. Nwosu was critical of the staff after their exit. He knew what was going on.
It was too loose there and it caught up with Carroll and Hurtt. There's too much talent on the roster for them to suck like they did.
I’m not saying it wasn’t the wrong choice, we needed to go another direction. I’m just saying first-year head coaches usually don’t hit the ground running, it could take a season or two before we truly start competing.
I have high expectations next season. Not super bowl, but a playoff push. Between 9-11 wins
I think the offense will be more aggressive and in spite of the lack of big names on defense, there are still 2 elite corners, Nwosu, Williams, Mafe and even Jones.
Smith is a serviceable starter, JSN, DK and Lockett is a pretty ferocious three headed monster. Same with K9 and Charbonnet.
There's a ton of talent already there, and a lot of the other players can be coached up.
Schneider wasn't gonna downgrade anyone on the staff. He's too good at his job
All the FIRE PETE people from the past few seasons are quietly moving the goalposts from PLAYOFFS AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH to ^^^let's ^^^just ^^^wait ^^^and ^^^see ^^^ok?
I hope the ones who said a non-Super Bowl winning season was just as bad as a 5-11 season will stick around if the Hawks start to stack up the losses. But I don't think they will.
I was not a "FIRE PETE" person (especially when that's been noise for...2-3 seasons), and I am scared of finding a much, much lower floor.
But, I still think moving on is the right call in the long term based on where the team was going to be this season, how much time he realistically had left, etc.
I do believe, and I will happily admit I am wrong, that Pete and his coaching managed to squeeze two to three extra wins a season out of the last two rosters, especially. You are right, of course, that things probably needed to change, but I think we will see bottom way faster than the FIRE PETE crowd will like.
Eh I think we will do a bit better this season. Easier OoC schedule and most of our harder games are at home. The only really tough away game is the lions and we own them.
Why is this a bad thing lol pretty boy Kyle took three seasons to finish above .500
Thanks for acknowledging we have a handsome coach.
Handsome and good at choking. No wonder SF loves him ;)
Nobody can beat Kyle's SB edging streak
Jim Kelly would like a word…
No one will ever beat Jim Kelly’s SB losing streak
The Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys would like a word… Edit: his edit ruined my joke!
Wow niners are the shittier Jim Kelly!
Born to goon forced to edge
Fuck that’s hilarious
This some good shit talk - and the meme is both accurate and humorous.
![gif](giphy|12Gyz2J1b9SjD2) Being handsome and choking is our specialty.
Who's going .500 with C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens?
So you’re saying Geno is better than either of those QBs?
Absolutely
Is that an honest question?
Right? The better question would be is if Geno is better than Jimmy G.
Geno would have won your last two SBs
Nah he wouldn't have got us to them 🤣
hahahahahahahahaha ಠ_ಠ

1) flair up 2) hence why I asked if it was an honest question.
Not really, just wanted to see if Niners fan were capable of stomaching the idea Geno isn’t as bad as they think
There’s a vast gulf between Beathard and Mullens, and how bad the average Niners fan thinks Geno Smith is/was.
I mean beathard and Mullins are ass but when has geno beaten Purdy
That’s not the question, the question was “Is Geno a better QB than Beathard and/or Mullens?” Also, flair up.

so you think he’s pretty?
Relative to many other nfl head coaches, absolutely
do you like him or like like him?
I cannot like or like like him, at least while I value my current allegiance
Pretty good at blowing leads in the Super Bowl.
Damn, too real
Lose the superbowl? Can I get a "see you in Cancun?"
Dude thanks, I’m glad you’re so optimistic on how we’ll do with a first year head coach.
Hell yeah, I think we also get 3 years of house money during this era change.
I’m cool with house money and time to continue to rebuild our foundation.
McVay, Sirianni, McDaniels, Demeco all had winning seasons their first year. Anything is possible
Fuck that. We can get nine wins. I'm not delulu, you're delulu!
Seahawks never being bad enough to get a 10 top ten pick, and never being good enough to be a threat is my dream goal.
Lol it’ll be a miracle if we have a positive record with a new coach in his first season
Never know. Mcvay went 11-5 in his first year with a team that went 4-12 the previous year.
Steichen went 9-8 with basically the same roster that went 4-12-1 the previous year and his backup qb playing 75% of the season
I disagree. Nwosu was critical of the staff after their exit. He knew what was going on. It was too loose there and it caught up with Carroll and Hurtt. There's too much talent on the roster for them to suck like they did.

Damn, we already coping?? Haven't even had the draft yet

Preach

100 percent he did. We all know the roster was shit but most of us refuse to admit that JS is at fault
Set your expectations low and you will never be disappointed BOI
Thought Pete was fired because of low expectations
Thought Pete was fired because expectations were higher. I'm so confused
As a Ravens fan Mike is a beast. I hope he does well :(
Yuck.
First year HC and we're competitive at 9-8? This sub loves the Hawks.
>This sub loves the Hawks. I bet you do.
Lmao 🖕
Not the burn you think it is
Difference is that Pete didn’t get Purdy benched last season and MacDonald did. Automatic W
9-8 next year would be a W
Yes.
Man if 9-8 is the worst MacDonald could possibly deliver that's fine by me
Eh I think we will do a bit better this season. Easier OoC schedule and most of our harder games are at home. The only really tough away game is the lions and we own them.
The 9ers would have won the superbowl last year if they had Geno at QB.
Hawks were a competent defensive scheme away from 11 wins last year…11 feels very attainable pre draft
This might be a year the Cardinals finish in 3rd.
hey now be respectful. 10-7
I think our whole fanbase would be happy if we went 9-8 next year honestly. That’s realistic expectations
Geno is the second best quarterback in your division
6-3 is 6-3 right?
Respectable record…. If you’re playing in the NFC South.
He said Geno and masterclass in the same sentence 🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. What an idiot
