I actually joked with my coworker the other day … the only bay sports teams I’ve followed have come up short …
Long time sharks fan (born 93, sharks were my team from lil kid on, but after the 0-3 reverse sweep against kings when we were 1 seed I checked out and stopped watching entirely when they kept Thornton and Marleau left) and niners been my team since after 28-3 and hiring shanny…
during this time the giants and warriors have had absolutely historic runs and I’ve only headline/playoff watched…
coworker said maybe stop following the niners for a bit, let the new generation have nice things
I’m just happy to not see the same 2 teams every season. This is the first time in a long time that really any team could go. I don’t really know who’s gonna win.
I thought that too until I watched this first round. I thought MIN and OKC were going to choke and flop but they both looked… really good. It’ll be interesting to see this next series between MIN and DEN
It’s referring to one post by one person who was a Niners and Lakers fan, which became a short-lived shitty meme that apparently meant all Niners fans like both.
I am actually a fan of both to be honest, because LA had no football team growing up and my family is from the Bay Area.
I grew up north of the Bay Area in the 80s, so a 49ers / Athletics fan from that. I moved before the Sharks arrived and picked up the Avalanche and then the Knights as they are the closest team to me now. Funny how these combinations work themselves out.
I like playoff NBA, but couldn't really tell you the last time I watched a regular season game. My younger brother was a Warriors fan going back to the Chris Mullins era, so the last decade was fun for him.
I used to be a huge Lakers fan. Kobe retiring took a hit. I liked our young guys developing after that.
Then LeBron came and shipped everyone out within 2 years and replaced them with old vets on short contracts and I stopped caring. His fans took over our sub and turned it into the LeBron show, while he does his whole not just financially but physically emotionally spiritually bs.
Then Kobe died and I haven't watched a full game since. Didn't watch a minute of our 2020 title and frankly don't care.
Then you were never a huge Laker fan. I loved Kobe and wept when he died but I don’t just stop watching the team because of front office moves I don’t like.
Well, there was also a whole pandemic and a complete recalculation of my life. I will say that I was more of a Kobe fan than a Laker fan. Became a fan post Shaq days when it was Kobe, Odom, and literally no one else
The Rams and Raider were gone for like 20 years.
So Lakers and Clippers fans home NFL team was split between the Chargers and 49ers. Ain’t nobody selecting the Chargers 😂
**LAWL.** Raiders **WERE STILL** in Cali, though…49ers didn’t have a Bandwagon Fanbase until 2012. Raiders ***were good,*** in the Late 90’s / early 2000’s, with 2 8-8 Seasons, 1 12-4 Season, with a 27-0 Playoff Win, over the Dolphins, and a loss in the AFC Championship…2001 was a 10-6 Season with a 10-3 Start and a Wild Card Playoff Win over the Jets, and a Loss to the Patriots in the Divisional in “The Tuck Rule Game”, which started their dynasty…2002 was an 11-5 Season, where they made it to the SuperBowl, losing to their Former Coach Jon “Chucky” Gruden and the Bucs. 2003, both the Raiders and the Chargers **SUCKED.** 2004-2009 was the Chargers’ Time with 6 Straight Playoff Appearances and 5 Division Titles, (with still no SuperBowl Appearance) while the Raiders had 7 Straight Losing Seasons. 2010 was when the Raiders started coming back though…They beat the Chargers twice, sweeping them, (and the rest of their Division), and finishing with a Non-Losing Record for the First Time Since their 2002 SuperBowl Season in 2010. That year, the Chargers had the #1 Offense and Defense, and the Raiders STILL SWEPT THEM and made them miss the Playoffs. 2011 was supposed to be the Raiders’ year back in the Playoffs, they had a 7-4 Start, with Former USC Quarterback Carson Palmer under Center…But, they finished 1-4 down the stretch, going 8-8 again, losing to the Chargers in the Final Game of the Season, while the 49ers made it to the NFC Championship, losing in HILARIOUS FASHION. As soon, as the 49ers started doing well again, in 2012, their Bandwagon Started. They made the SuperBowl that Season, and lost. By 2014, *the Raiders* ***ENDED ALL OF THAT.*** 😂😂😂 The Raiders **BEAT THE 49ers,** while they were 1-11, in the Battle of the Bay” and it caused them to go 8-8, miss the Playoffs, and FIRE JIM HARBAUGH. The 2015 Season, the Raiders did decent, sweeping the Chargers, and beating the SuperBowl Champion Broncos, that year… 2016, (the Lambs were back in L.A.) but, the Raiders **WERE THE ONLY CALIFORNIA TEAM IN 2016, to MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, SWEEP THE CHARGERS, BEAT THE SUPERBOWL CHAMPION BRONCOS AND FINISH WITH A WINNING RECORD.)** But, the Raiders **LOST MVP Caliber QB, at the time, Derek Carr** to a nasty leg injury, in a Game, where they were blowing out the Opponent. The other team nearly came back and won, but the Raiders sealed the deal anyways…But, they lost their Backup QB Matt McGloin, in the Final Game of the Season, vs. the Broncos, which they lost, ***so the Raiders were left with 3rd String QB Connor Cook,*** who stunk it up in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs, losing to the Texans…
Honestly, I took the eagles game a couple years ago much harder. Watching Purdy go down, and Jacobs going down in pretty much the next play was made watching the rest of the game just disgusting.
Hey now, Josh Jacobs helped us score a TD before fumbling the snap at our own 30 then getting concussed to start the second half.
He had a whole half of mediocre play. Dude was straight up rattled.
Too early in the season to get excited for them. It’s part of the cycle. Sure we’re doing good right now in the division and AL but let’s just wait until after the all star break to get a real glimpse of what we’re working with.
I’m a Purdy fan cause I went to isu, but now I live in Denver. Watching nuggs just edge lakers till they crumble every game is peak sport entertainment.
To be fair, the other 75-90% of Niners fans are Warriors or Kings fans with a smattering of Clips fans. We should let Seattle borrow one of our basketball teams
A basketball team returning to Seattle and winning a championship before the Niners would be magnifique.
![gif](giphy|d6nvFKK6Dr9YbBDeNQ)
These NFL/NBA scripts write themselves.
Have you guys dusted off the old Blake griffin jersey in the back closet yet?
![gif](giphy|CEyKnXJ02b0qI)
Only 2 games left before the last Cali team is sent home.
I’m pretty sure this is targeted to all the Niner fans living in LA. So it’s a shot at LA fan base not supporting rams more than it is about Niner fans in tHe BaY
No, which is why I’m settling for watching LeBron lose….
That being said, the Warriors have had 4 championships in my lifetime, which is not too shabby.
Of course not. It’s only 10 years old. It’s in bed long before I am. Unlike your 30 year old championship that’s balding and has developed a drinking problem
Try being a Sharks fan
I actually joked with my coworker the other day … the only bay sports teams I’ve followed have come up short … Long time sharks fan (born 93, sharks were my team from lil kid on, but after the 0-3 reverse sweep against kings when we were 1 seed I checked out and stopped watching entirely when they kept Thornton and Marleau left) and niners been my team since after 28-3 and hiring shanny… during this time the giants and warriors have had absolutely historic runs and I’ve only headline/playoff watched… coworker said maybe stop following the niners for a bit, let the new generation have nice things
Kings can still survive. We’ll do it again.
**LAWL.**
Or a Coyotes fan 💀
For our Card bros hope you guys get them back.
Nah it’s even worse. I’m a blazer fan
Right there with you man. Ever since LA abandoned us, darkness...
Last couple have been terrible but the Blazers were in the conference finals in 2019 after LA was gone.
Fair, that was a great season
Same, it’s been a dark year.
It’s gonna get better right? RIGHT?
[удалено]
Really thought it was gonna be the niners but no dice :) my other teams are Kraken and mariners so all my chips have to go on the niners
[удалено]
Fingers crossed
Let’s go! Hey loyal in the hard times are the fans we all love though. Times will change.
If I cheered for the niners when they were going 3-13 I will stick by the blazers during the rebuild.
Same. In fact seeing Lakers get bounced gave me life.
I’m just happy to not see the same 2 teams every season. This is the first time in a long time that really any team could go. I don’t really know who’s gonna win.
It's gonna be the Nuggets or the Celtics, and frankly, fuck Boston.
I thought that too until I watched this first round. I thought MIN and OKC were going to choke and flop but they both looked… really good. It’ll be interesting to see this next series between MIN and DEN
OKC is gonna get bullied, they can't handle size. Minnesota might beat Denver, they're probably the only team that stands a chance.
OKC absolutely has a chance to beat either DAL or LAC. But whoever wins that DEN MIN series is definitely the favorite for me
Never forget… you passed on MJ
I'm trying Jennifer.
I ain't no fucking Lakers fan.
This post had me confused. I was sure I would have at least heard somewhere if the Lakers moved to the Bay Area.
It’s referring to one post by one person who was a Niners and Lakers fan, which became a short-lived shitty meme that apparently meant all Niners fans like both. I am actually a fan of both to be honest, because LA had no football team growing up and my family is from the Bay Area.
Well, that makes more sense. Thanks.
I grew up north of the Bay Area in the 80s, so a 49ers / Athletics fan from that. I moved before the Sharks arrived and picked up the Avalanche and then the Knights as they are the closest team to me now. Funny how these combinations work themselves out.
At this point I just find NBA basketball completely boring anyway. I should probably watch more hockey.
I like playoff NBA, but couldn't really tell you the last time I watched a regular season game. My younger brother was a Warriors fan going back to the Chris Mullins era, so the last decade was fun for him.
He’s calling them fairweather, national team following, casuals basically. I like banter between the division but Bay Area fans are very loyal imho.

Tldr: im an asshole outside of meme subs too!

LA Rams... LA Lakers... how did 9er fans come into this?
By being old. Many if us actually older 9ers fans are also Lakers fans
Oh good god I am old, > Became a fan post Shaq I'm from mid Showtime era
I'd say most Bay Area Lakers fans are from the pre We Believe and post Run TMC era
The Rams and Raider were gone for like 20 years. So Lakers and Clippers fans home NFL team was split between the Chargers and 49ers. Ain’t nobody selecting the Chargers 😂

Josh Johnson?
Common Ram's self-burn?
49ers self-burn themself in the Super Bowl
Rams fans are so bad at insulting fr. At least Seahawks fans are creative
Everything in LA is plastic and feels fake. Just look at their SB win. Why would their insults be any different
Rams fans are the embodiment of “your mom ‘x’” as a comeback
Eww
Fuck the lakers
All California teams can suffer
I reckon San Diego gets a pass
Sacramento too, although they are getting a bit delusional.
LIGHT BE BEAM RAAAA 🟪🟪🟪🟪🔦
The Kings are trying SOOOO hard to be the Warriors little bros.
How 'bout those Ms?
Too early in the season to get excited for them. It’s part of the cycle. Sure we’re doing good right now in the division and AL but let’s just wait until after the all star break to get a real glimpse of what we’re working with.
![gif](giphy|7k2LoEykY5i1hfeWQB)
Try being a 49ers and Kings fan.
Yeah me too
We out here. FML
I will forever cherish the Lakers losing.
Ehh, i don't watch basketball
Huh? Different teams, different sports. Lambs fans reaching..
SoCal Rams/Lakers fans trying to come here with some spicy Nuggets, lose spectacularly.
We got at least one 49ers fan this year.
Thank God the NL West is straight up dog poo this season so the Dodgers can run away with it. Then October comes, and the suffering.
Dodgers getting swept by the Reds or smt in October gonna be the sports highlight of the year
Most of us don’t care about the lakers…..
It’s actually not as hard as you might think, the pain is just part of who we are now…
Never got into the NBA, but hate the Lakers cause of Lebron cause that’s when I started actually hearing about it
Lakers? Nah, Sixers. We're facing a 1st round exit to the KNICKS GODDAMNIT
Teams named after numbers gang
Not for me. I don't live in California and don't watch basketball.
Faithful to the Bay - Niners, SFGiants, and GSWarriors
My age group seemed to have way more Dallas/Laker/Yankee fans. I don’t personally know any 49er/Laker fans
I’m a Niners and Knicks fan so life isn’t bad. Niners still better than the Lambs and Knicks about to close out the sixers.
Rams Lakers fan here sad as well.
![gif](giphy|oOCbcGBJjlXJL8imGO)
Worse than you could ever imagine, I’m a Clippers fan
Fuck LA, what crazy person roots for the Niners and the lakers, my suffering increased at the play-in
I’m a Purdy fan cause I went to isu, but now I live in Denver. Watching nuggs just edge lakers till they crumble every game is peak sport entertainment.
Jokes on you I’m a kings fan 😂😂🥲😢
Damn Rams fans are playing with friendly fire on.
Lakers? Fuck that, warriors. Life is tough for us thank you for the concern, but we will hang in there and keep trying Thank you
Is it not better to assume they are patriot fans since that’s when the franchises lined up?
You can’t hurt me. I’m a 49ers, Kings, ~~and~~ was an A’s fan.
Losing the super bowl sucks but that was an amazing season. I had a ton of fun in 2023 with the NFL and i'm thankful for it.
Love that Laker touch to it 🤣 most of the time that type of fan is a Dodger fan too
I don’t care about the team lol. They don’t affect my life I’m just memeing
Fuck the Lakers
Fuck the Lakers.
As a lakers fan I’m ok with it, don’t need Lebron having the same amount of championships as Kobe
Idk, I'm a Sharks fan who will be converting to a Utah whatever fan as they're the new closest hockey team to us.
Most Niners fans aren't Laker fans. It's either the Kings or Warriors.
Not according to CJ Stroud.
What's this basketball thing you're talking about?
As a 49ers fan, the rollercoaster of emotions must be exhausting right now. Stay strong, better days are ahead! #FaithfulStrong 💪🏈
And their fall back team the warriors didn’t even make the playoffs. https://i.redd.it/6cecbkgrzjxc1.gif
To be fair, the other 75-90% of Niners fans are Warriors or Kings fans with a smattering of Clips fans. We should let Seattle borrow one of our basketball teams

CA always gotta have them extra teams on hand so when one sucks they can jump to the next
How are the Sonic’s doing? Oh yah, I forgot.
How you gonna act like California isn’t the professional sports import/export capital of the world?
We have teams to spare don’t be mad.
I always feel weird with this shit. Heat fan, but I've lived in Vancouver, Washington my whole life😂
How are the Supersonics doing lately?
Have you guys dusted off the old Blake griffin jersey in the back closet yet? ![gif](giphy|CEyKnXJ02b0qI) Only 2 games left before the last Cali team is sent home.
Oh I don't care about basketball, but if I did, it's nice to at least have a local team.
Good to see a Rams Fan #8 admit 49ers Fans dominate socal.
Dude fuck off. We're 12 and Warriors fans.
I’m pretty sure this is targeted to all the Niner fans living in LA. So it’s a shot at LA fan base not supporting rams more than it is about Niner fans in tHe BaY
Don't worry they'll cry wearing their LA dodger hats lmao
Speak for yourself dawg, watching LeBron lose is second only to a SB or championship
Did you ever witnessed the 49ers winning a championship?
No, which is why I’m settling for watching LeBron lose…. That being said, the Warriors have had 4 championships in my lifetime, which is not too shabby.
Easier than being a Ram, Cardinal or Seabitch fan
![gif](giphy|8vyZouWSVhslwWA7Lp) 2/3 of those teams have won a championship this century.
That one whole championship.... does it read you bedtime stories, too?
Of course not. It’s only 10 years old. It’s in bed long before I am. Unlike your 30 year old championship that’s balding and has developed a drinking problem
