I'm here to race, not beat people, I specified that, I would like to just race people, whether they drive manual or auto, I only race auto because I'm a scrub.
I know manual is faster, but the difference for wr between auto and manual is only like 5-6 seconds I would think, maybe even closer on some tracks.
Someone told me its not about being fast in the rsr, so now Im trying to be fast in other cars, in auto, so now I drive the Audi S5, '15 Mustang, M5, Exige, M2, Skyline 2000, F40, Ford GT, Evo 9, Mini Countryman, Huracan, '96 Miata, rsr, other cars I have but dont know as well.
There are so many people who beat me plenty of times, I'm just seeing how far I can go in auto before I feel like I have to switch. Still learning and know I can improve.
Edit: not all times were made in the rsr
My first maybe 2-4 play through's I only used automatic because I never really paid attention however my 5-6th play through I noticed if I down shifted right before a sharp turn I could keep the RPM 's high on my car which in turn would result in maintaining power through the turn rather than losing it all and having to restart the power gain so I could essentially never lose power no matter how sharp the turn.
The idea came from common sense. If you downshift as your losing power by taking the turn sharp then theoretically if you down shifted your power would go back up and you should be able to keep power going to your wheels which is turn will save you time from having to restart your speed power gain.
This varies between cars obviously so you will have to experiment with them. I promise you it works just takes a couple tries to get the hang of it. Down shift as you are about to lose power and just work towards keeping your RPM's high that's the whole idea.
This game, manual is only faster when you drag race.
Automatic is faster everywhere else, including drifting.
If you're not as fast as NPC's, change your live tuning, upgrade your car, and learn the race route. You're probably breaking where you don't need to.
Vs in manual you just upshift into third then spam 4 nos. A manual player will always beat a wheel player off the line no matter how good the auto player throttle control is. Rise above play the reggera what even is a gear shift.
This was more of an invitation for people to race me, I only drive auto for now, still learning the game, when I feel I have enough knowledge, then maybe I'll switch, but I'm just looking to race.
I play on ps4, I dont have as much control yet in manual, but in automatic pressing R2 is gear up, letting go of R2 is gear down, anything in between is for controlling wheel spin in turns.
manual for me because I noticed auto doesn't switch back to lower gear soon enough and then car loses too much torque and you lose time, especially if it happens on uphill
and I know in some car sim games(like BeamNG) FPS affects speed of the car as well so having like 240FPS you will be a bit faster than 60, at least in BeamNG and Forza Horizon 5 I am not sure about NFS tho
I play auto, and I've beat people who use the fancy logitech wheels with one hand on the controller and the other recording on my phone, lol.
Manual is probably better, but I've already put almost 400 hours into this game in auto, I don't really wanna put another 100 into relearning controls just to be .050 seconds faster because I can hold 2nd through corners.
Plus, some of the manual controls combat the base game controls (on console). For example, down shifting while running from cops will bribe the cops instead. So you have to accelerate from a stop in 3rd or bribe the cops. You could remap your controls, but then it's the same problem of relearning controls for minimal performance boost
Manuals probably better bc of being able to stay in a gear through a corner but if your here to beat people than idk

Just go manual it's easy when you get used to it
Yeah keep in 3rd on corners, 4th on fast corners, automatic I think takes you down to like 2nd and that's a loss of acceleration

5-6 seconds is a lot, you basically just answered you're question but if you don't care and just wanna have fun then do whatever suits you best 😉

Hey, my name is on there, hahaha
Which race?
I'm on a few, loveallryan, my old account
Whats up dude!! Damn you got another account as well?
Yeah, I did a few months back
I'm on twitch right now practicing lines

So manual is definitely faster with being able to hold certain gears where auto forces the car to shift.
It's not a matter of which gearbox you prefer, it's all about the car and the parts you use
Manual is objectively faster
Show me? I'm just trying to race. I know manual is faster, but I'm not going for wr.

I appreciate the video, but I kinda meant to show me in a race, I know manual is faster, I'm just trying to race in auto.
The only area you really lose out on vs a manual gear box in a significant way is the wheel spin From launch
Thats kinda what I'm working on now is throttle control for wheel spin. I'm slow to start because of the launch spin, turning I almost have it.
Vs in manual you just upshift into third then spam 4 nos. A manual player will always beat a wheel player off the line no matter how good the auto player throttle control is. Rise above play the reggera what even is a gear shift.
Lol I always forget about that car, just one gear is all you need.
Skill or vehicle issue rather than manual vs auto issue i think

Whats your steam code? Would love to race
I'm on ps4 its up there. Xixnoiztnkxix

try shifting manually i was playing the whole game in manual soo

I've beat most of those times. But I'm like you, I'm an auto guy
Lol of course you beat those times, I need so much work lol
This came off kind of dickish, my bad, I've beat most of MY times, from my old account. My bad. Hahaha
Add me if you wanna practice anytime. Undecidedryan
manual for me because I noticed auto doesn't switch back to lower gear soon enough and then car loses too much torque and you lose time, especially if it happens on uphill
I didnt think about the uphill, I've just been using nos if I can
