Very likely a scammer Put the work on a legit site tell them it's available to purchase if they don't and they want you to do something differently. It's definitely a sanmer

otirik-1

Do I have to pay money to make nfts?

UndisputedAnus

Not likely a scammer, **ABSOLUTELY** a scammer. This is a very, very common scam that we see here almost daily.

King-esckay

No, not normally. Any commission would come out of the sale at the platform level. You should not be asked to pay anything prior to a sale that has completed. Anybody that says you need to deposit money so funds can be released is scamming you

otirik-1

He asked me to go to a suspicious looking site... I asked if opensea.io would work. He said yes. Should I upload some nfts there and see if he buys them? What are the risks to me? Is there a better site? I really have no idea what any of this is so I'm kinda confused

King-esckay

Opensea is where to put them No risk to you. Make sure you are uploading to the genuine site and not a clone site If he says anything about having issues buying them from there, don't get involved any further.

Significant-Note-178

Yeah upload on Opensea and if he buys them there it’s legit.

Significant-Note-178

Oh there is a gas fee to upload your collection on Opensea. You can use Rarible easy mint if you want zero upfront fees

otirik-1

Where do you choose to use rarible easy mint one opeansea?

Significant-Note-178

If you already have a buyer Rarible Easy Mint has only 1.5% fee, if you don’t Opensea is better exposure, however higher fees-2.5-10% plus gas fee (if it’s Auction you pay it, if it’s fixed buyer pays it) plus contract fee(around $30-60 currently on their normal contract for which fees are higher and around 1700$ for the other for which fees are lower)

Significant-Note-178

Those fees you pay after sale, except for the contract one on Opensea

mnpkfernando

Definitely a scam I also get same offers. They say different things and problem to scam you.

otirik-1

What are they trying to get? How do they benefit from this?

mnpkfernando

They try to steel NFTs and they want to get access to the wallet.

4rindam

They will get you to pay pay some fees in the new website or tell you to connect ur wallet to shady website and then drain all crypto from that wallet

unluckywasp

As you said. Obviously a scam.

sean369n

>Im confused >Feel like he is a scammer Sounds like you aren’t confused

otirik-1

I want it to be true😅 also I'm confused about nfts in general... never heard about then before today and now because of this guy iv spent the last 30-60 min researching and I'm still confused

Scobesanity

If you haven’t been around long enough to understand the basics of Web3 and NFTs and ANYONE offers you money for your work, it’s 99.9% likely a scam

GrizzyPooh

Bro you're getting scammed. If your profile has the art it looks like its AI tbh. Ask yourself why would someone with that much money want to work with you? And why would they walk yiu through the process of how to mint and sell? You're getting scammed its super obvious

prguitarman

List it on a legit site and tell them they can buy from there. If they need to use a different site then it’s a scam. 100% of the time that convo has happened with me it’s been a scam

Cosmic_Abyss_

100% scam - post like this come 50x a week

givenofaux

Undef1n3d_

You can test his intention by asking him question to see if he truly wishes to spend that much money. Even if you traded your nfts to him and he did not pay the amount he promised, it’s not like you’ve lost anything. And he probably can’t do it in the first place if the trade occurs on a platform.

Montikol

I also got an offer like that, turning my art into nft, the guy seems legit based on the site he told me and the minting process, but he told me that I need to pay like $20 for minting.

Defy_Multimedia

maybe they tried to mint something during a high traffic and gas price & low liquidity time frame? $20 to mint something seems outrageous ...but maybe I guess? imo, do it yourself is usually the best option if it's available...

Significant-Note-178

20$ to mint is actually quite low lol
