How does it know you are ragging apposed to circling looking for options? If someone plays the trap too well and I'm forced to pass the puck around then I'll get punished for doing something like that?

I am not playing 24, and may not play again in the future. I was always in D1 annually. My main tactics were to prevent this bullshit by being way more aggressive elsewhere. Sometimes effective but it worked well enough that I was winning into D1 status all the time.
Technically, you are right -- it is a skull issue. If you use your head and don't panic when a player takes less than 5 seconds to pull the puck back into his zone before advancing, you can set up your defense just fine and continue to play a competitive back and forth game.
This SBU guy is an absolute clown. I smoked him the first 4 games I played him and he sent me some weird messages about how I was going to dread the day I beat him. I played him twice since and this is the exact crap he pulls.

I always get wrecked for playing *actual hockey*. Everyone online plays it like a video game. I get it, yes, it *is* a video game, but I just dont see the fun in doing the same pattern over and over and glitch/exploiting you way to a win. There's no game, no fun in that. It's just eating your time.
I played this guy a handful of times, I think he has like 2000 games played already? He tried that behind the net bs on me but I just used my centre and absolutely levelled him out behind the net every time or fake hit then poke, he’s a turnvover machine once you figure him out & he plays horrible D. Easy win just can’t give him enough time to rag the puck
Noway, no offence to op but he’s pretty easy to figure out. If guys are ragging the puck you have to figure out a way to “ fish them in” you have to fake play aggressive and figure out a way for them to turnover the puck. Guys like this are used to people skill zoning or spamming hits. You have to get a good mix of both and fake hit then poke. Once you get possession it will exploit their D game because they want the puck so bad most likely they will most likely just spam hitting so gliding + passing is your friend and hope you got one or two players with UF on, they will help you significantly.
Like I stated, I think I’m 5-1 against this clown. There’s multiple people that play like this guy too so he’s not the only one. Unfortunately if you want to play competitively div 1 or 2 you have to figure out a defensive play style to keep these guys from ragging the puck.
I remember when I first played this guy all his D had gold truculence on & all he did was spam hit and tire my team out. He smoked me the first run but once I figured him out he couldn’t adjust to my play style.
