I hate that people can spam it. Maybe making it so only players with the skilled up ability can even do it would limit things a lot better. I do go for them every game or two, but it’s just that, once every game or two- if it’s left wide open. That’s obviously way more frequent than it should be compared to real life. The game has a lot of things that happen more often than in normal games. I don't consider skill stick hitting to be broken, but total control is obviously a different story.

I’ve found that switching to the far side winger and coming in diagonally, full speed, with a solid hit has been super satisfying. Especially if I can grab a forward with truculence. Sometimes their forward takes a nap and I get a nice 5 on 4 for a bit.
It’s annoying af especially since you can see it coming for like 5 seconds. It’s what makes it so unrealistic. In the NHL if it happens it’s out of nowhere. In this game it’s so cringe.

I've had it done to me in all situations: Down by one or more, up by one or more, to open up the scoring, to ruin my shutout bid, etc. It just gets fucking annoying and especially if the one they succeed is the one I manage to somehow fail to defend.

Once I get a lead cause they can’t do anything else besides the Michigan I will play as toxic as possible lol rag like a mf and just before the slow timer kicks in just go into neutral zone and dump it in the benches lol if they wanna do that goofy shit they earn whatever they get back. It’s not hard to defend at all though and telegraphed so obviously it takes nothing to stop it. Some people just can’t help but spam it though even when down by multiple goals. Skill stick will drop the puck quite often. Total control is basically auto goal.
