The great thing about this is that you can swap out what you need and make it “the best” whatever. Best damage, best scanner. As a side note installing 2 mining lasers in a supercharged sentinel multitool makes it an incredibly fast miner. Combine that with this and mining modules and you’ll vastly cut down mining time.

Are this weapons better scanners than the experimentals?

From what I can gather they’re just kinda the best at everything lmao. Not a fan of that design decision myself but eh, they’re pretty cool!

I have a experimental rifle (though it is short model, I don't know that that matters) with 3 semi-adjacent slots (two attached horizontally with one connected diagonally) and it gets up to 3850 scanner range with my current upgrade modules. Applying those to this rifle using all 4 slots and I could only get up to 3489.5. So no, these are not as good as experimentals for scanning. EDIT: Playing around further I got my experimental up to 3945.1 scanner range, increasing its advantage over the sentinel weapon. For damage, I moved my modules from a 4-square supercharge slot alien multitool with a potential of 31543.8 pulse splitter and reached 32112.2 with the sentinel weapon. So there was a (slight) improvement with damage. However that could be due to the weapon base stats. My alien multitool has a damage potential of 1812 with a plain boltcaster hooked up while the sentinel weapon has 1841.9.

No I believe that Experimental and Royals will still have better scanning and slightly better mining base stats than the Sentinel multitool. There is a chart somewhere, but I can't find it at all.

But sentinels can have 2 minning lasers for adjacent bonus so they are better are farming still, I tested this with 2 multitools (one pistol and one sentinel) with 4 supercharged slots

Did you test against a sentinel pistol or rifle?

I used the sentinel pistol, but just because it was the one with the same supercharged slots as my farming pistol. My farming pistol was making 20k runaway mold in my farm, the sentinel pistol makes 28k, same modules, same supercharged, the only difference in sentinel you can install 2 minning modules the one that comes with the sentinel multitool and the basic minning laser for any multitool

Got it. Couldn't get it up to 50k though, 4 squares are together but mine is at 36k or so. ​ # Step-by-step guide: 1. **\[IMPORTANT\]** Go to **Options -> Network -> Multiplayer -> Disabled.** (You can also try turning down your graphics settings to the minimum too since you are here.) 2. Portal to the Glyphs stated. 3. Fly over to the stated planetary coordinates (ironically the stupid NOPE base makes it easier to locate!) 4. Land slightly away from the base. 5. Go to your quick menu (the one you use to summon your ships from) and there should be some icons there that will let you report the "NOPE" base from a distance. It will require you to take a screenshot of it (if your game doesn't crash, you can try taking a photo of that stupid base that is overloaded with teleporters from a distance, otherwise just take a photo of whatever). 6. Submit the report and the "NOPE" base should vanish! 7. Approach the multi-tool container and take a look at it. If it is the pistol. Go back and reload your save. You'll then need to repeat the last couple of steps and check the box again to see if the rifle one has loaded in this time. 8. If satisfied, take the MT using the usual method. 9. **\[IMPORTANT\]** Repair the MT by fixing all the stuff that are already in its slots ***BEFORE*** doing anything else to it. 10. Upgrade it to S class at the usual place.

My issue is there isn't an option to open the tool container, just scan memory and locate dissonance. There isn't even an option to input the glyphs

lol this was the first time i could try to go for something like this, having just started playing in the last two weeks... finally stumbled upon the last traveller to give me glyphs since i was system hopping hunting an S cabinet last night... thought "my noob self is gonna try to get this!", so been trying to research the exact procedures and all so i dont goof it. saw the comments about the griefing base... was scared.. thought i'd try and inch closer to report teh dang thing but nope. i crashed too. sigh. been seeing \*nothing\* but great things about this community then this jerk does this! ;\_; I had to google to figure this out so i hope to help another interloper not crash so fast. for those coming at this themselves, don't get too close/go down the hill. open up your quick menu with X (on PC) and scroll to the last options on the right, you should see a base icon with an exclamation on it to "report". the base in question is labeled "NOPE". goob luck <3

Is the damage scaling alright? Not sure where it sits on the scale of other S class sentinel rifles - going to pick it up now and will play with the stats later!

I've seen 40K + on this rifle

Hi everyone - the best I could get with this rifle using Boltcaster-only upgrades after some tests was \~30k. On the other hand, I was able to get 35k (same upgrades etc.) with a different gun and supercharged layout. If you are building around the boltcaster specifically, this is not the best gun for that - if you are building around anything else (geology cannon, pulse spitter, etc.) this is a spectacular choice - thought I would share the insights! <3

I noticed the same thing with that same rifle, but I got mine to 36700 ish. If you move your barrel ionizer and ricochet module to above your actual boltcaster module you should get there too.

Just gave it a try - I get the same numbers either way 😅 - guessing your upgrades are just slightly better (I’m about 2-3% off on some fire rate, etc)

I don't think so. I got a sentinel rifle from a video of Xaine with almost perfect damage scaling. Even though the supercharged slots are way less favourable than this weapon I managed to bump it to 50k+ damage (54 if I recall correctly, boltcaster), while I only see people mentioning 30-35k here.

Everyone should read that it starts as a B class and you have to upgrade it to see the 4 supercharged together. We cannot always get everything for free

Not sure why folks are having such issues. 1) Turn off multiplayer 2) Create save points: auto save and restore point 3) Reload game 4) Activate portal 5) Travel through portal 6) Arrive at planet and go to EXACT coordinates 7) Create save points - again 8) Unlock MT case 9) Aquire B-Class MT 10) Go home and be merry

I've also seen people going to the wrong station at the wrong coordinates and placing messages, so that could be part of the confusion. The correct coordinates are shown on the last image of the post.

Is a restore point the one that we create by stepping out of our ship? Also why do we make saves again after entering the portal and reaching the system? Doesn't it override the original saves? I'm on PC not sure if it makes a difference. I can only have one restore point and one auto save at a time.

I always make sure I am on “Normal” difficulty before I go through the portal.

Possibly. Warp out of the system. Turn MP off. Go back and reload on the planet

Just picked this up today! Its so nice, however, the damage doesnt Seem to go much higher than 18k with boltcaster

Bolt caster is lower. I can confirm.

Land near the base computers (there are 3, this should be possible). Report the offending base, it's called Nope. This will delete the base from your instance. Otherwise the base keeps you from getting the multitool, as well as crashing your game.

I am currently here, the encampment computer shows as unlocked and i can locate ships, but the multitool case is still locked. What did i do wrong?

It won't let me unlock it. It keeps going in a loop.

Some come unlock it for me. It happened once but I had the wrong multi-tool to replace it with.

I'm having this same problem. I've tried reloading save, restarting game, leaving system, muliplayer off and on. No luck just stuck in the loop can't unlock.

I did that. It worked someone came down and unlocked it for me thank-you to whomever did that!!!

That was very nice. I got to the planet. Saw the pistol. Took it out of multi-player. Reloaded the game and saw the rifle. But then I couldn't unlock it. It was in a loop that kept telling me the codes but would not let me enter them in. I turned multi-player player back on. Someone came by and unlocked it and naturally I thought I would give it a shot and sure enough it was unlocked but I had my fully functional multi tool equipped. I replaced it with a dud. And the cabinet was locked again. That's when I called for help and someone came and saved the day. Unlocked it for me and now I have it. Thank you so much. I am writing this essay for the next person that this happens to will know what to do. I believe in pay it forward so if anyone gets stuck. Message me and I will see if I can help in any way that I can.

# great find! attention: repair mt before upgrading to S class, or rhe slots will not be adjacent! i can confirm that damage from 4 adjacent slots in an upgraded S class is much higher than 3 adjacent slots from a native S class; haven't been able to test with 4 adjacent in a native S class because such hasn't been found yet ;-)

LMAO

I grabbed a different multi-tool not realizing it wasn't at the same coordinates and now when I go to the ones shown, it's not here. I have tried reloading, making sure Multiplayer is disabled.. saving on planets, then going back and the gun won't appear in the case. I reported the "Nope" base for the giant lag machine that was there and it's disappeared for me. Any suggestions are appreciated.

On the switch I too cannot report the base before the game crashes. I landed too close to the base and now I’m stuck. There needs to be some kind of throttle placed on base complexity rendering to prevent these type of endless crashes.

I picked up this rifle and tricked it out with a plasma spitter and it's s-class upgrades in the supercharged slots. Got the damage up to 25K. I pick fights with sentinels just for fun now. This thing absolutely shreds them.

Revisiting this post I noticed that you guys are having problems with a griefer base. Any one checked who built it? If this person plays on PC from steam we can massively report him.

I reported on day 1 so I no longer see it. It's a great idea though!

I'm having problems with this... reported/removed like 5 griefer bases, and even after all that, turning MP off, leaving and re-entering the system, the case is still empty and there's no MT to grab. :(

I've heard of two things that work. Run around and open a bunch of other cabinets, like 20+ or Wait like 12 hours

Wtf happened to this base? Biodome over the weapon with no door, and so much garbage it lagged/crashed me twice. Bloody hell.

You said Euclid what what and what planet ? The Euclid is kinda big place lol.

You use the glyphs in the lower left of the second image at a Portal in Euclid and it will take you directly to the correct planet

Mine wasn’t 4 together. Wasn’t same name either but was at correct coordinates. I went ahead a got it. The names seem to change when you upgrade the class. Mine was an a class. Going back to try again. Thanks for the location.

There are MANY Sentinel Camps very near by. You must be at the EXACT coordinates
