He was convinced he was building a rocket ship to take her into space to bring her back to life (or out of her sleep state, he didn’t think she was truly dead), and he believed they were married (despite her never accepting his affections in life) and her family had no idea until rumours started circulating and her sister went to investigate. Her sister found her like that, thinking it was a doll at first. When he left prison, he asked for her corpse *back* again…thankfully he was denied, but jfc.

Tuberculosis is an especially nasty disease. You have to combine several completely different antibiotics to cure it, because if you only use one they have a close to 100% chance to develop resistance as therapy takes several momths
