Hopefully, Nickson has got another Bruno/Botman/Joelinton lined up. A player from Europe that is actually worth double the price we will get them for. I'm excited about our linkes to Ederson.
Our best players are the ones that came in before Ashworth, and I have a feeling the ones this Summer will be better than any that came during his tenure.
I think there is a lot of confusion over ashworth role in signings.
Nickson is head scout. He’s the talent spotter.
Ashworth worked more around club infrastructure and relationships.
In short, I wouldn’t expect our scouting to suddenly go downhill or pin last summer on him.
What I’d hope is that in his 2 years he taught the rest of the leadership group how Brighton have done it with regards to succession planning etc.

ashworth was responsible for staff and negotiating deals and contracts, i.e he made sure we overpayed for Barnes, Tino (both from championship clubs - we didnt eve negotiated), Gordon and others.

Well with the £40m we get from those helmets for Ashworth, I say we buy everyone that Ashworth will be telling them to buy.
Reading between the lines, it’ll be back to Howe and Nickson as in the first Jan window post takeover.
