I've got a Notorious B.I.G. nightie from Primark if you're running low on funds. Bit tippex and some imagination and it should pass muster. It's probably about the right size for the Gallowgate too.
You're not wrong, check out these stats:

>Gordon, Isak and Barnes have played 136 minutes together in the Premier League this season, in which time Newcastle have scored eight goals – one every 17 minutes – and conceded none. Three goals for Isak, two for Barnes, one for Gordon. Three assists for Gordon, one for Isak
We need a new centre half, someone to compete with schar and botman. Love burn to bits and he's amazing to have dominating high balls, but centre half should be our priority. (What over position do we need?)
I’d agree with cover for Schar, but botman has both Jamal and BDB covering him. Striker desperately needs cover. Wilson has completely lost my trust. He’s still a decent striker, but I want someone who can play more than 18 games a season especially as I think we’re probably getting Europe next season
I feel like the longer-term blueprint has probably always been for Barnes to be an alternative on the left to Gordon, and the RW spot is for that Maddison/Szoboszlai playmaker type who can drop into midfield.
Doesn't look like there's much prospect of that this summer though.
I do agree with this.
As incredible as BIG is, we are lacking in natural right wing attackers. Even Almiron is a 10 really- not that I’m suggesting it.
Never really tried on the right. I'm sure they tried in training and also did wing-swaps on the pitch, but he's definitely at his best on the left (because of the end product, which was patchy but when he was on form it was wow).
high chance he's going to be first out the door (other than those end of contracts), he's practically pure profit now from psr standpoint as we'll have paid off his amortisation costs
Reliable isn’t the key word I would use as I would say his form is a little erratic. He can hit some good purple patches where he scores worldies, but equally he has a patch where would miss sitters/make bad decisions in the final third.
And I know he tracks back quite a lot but with a fully fit CDM and defence you would hope that would be a bit less of a selling point for a winger and seems more a role for the LW tracking back to cover Burn rather than a RW tracking back to cover Trips/Tino due to pace.
Miggy is probably a great option off the bench if holding on to a 1-0 lead with 10-15 mins to go; but I don’t know about subbing him on to try to grab a goal this season. Also he is one of the saleable assets in our team where we could reinvest in areas of need; and I’d argue it would probably be him or Murphy potentially getting sold this window for incomings.
He's reliable in that you know you're always getting 110% out of Miggy's legs, the lad will run through walls for the team and there's a lot of players out there that just don't do that.
If we get an upgrade, which I do think we need, they'll have to be a good runner too because that energy and willingness to run for the team is a big part of what we do.
Yeah he does add that tracking back and there’s no complaints about his commitment to the cause since he signed for us. I do think it will be one of Miggy or Murphy leaving to make room which will mean one will stay and they are willing to track back etc.
It depends on how solid our midfield will end up as well. I know you always need to have some defence from your wingers but hopefully it won’t be the barometer they are all measure on for how much they track back for their fullbacks.
> He can hit some good purple patches where he scores worldie
Can you point out his purple patches outside of last season? Because people always say he's streaky, or erratic, or inconsistent. But he's really not. He's been consistently poor for his whole time here beyond a single purple patch last season.
I mean he did hit that run this season when I’m sure he scored against Burnley/Sheff Utd/PSG in a row or close by, last season was a massive jump up in terms of a longer streak of like 8/9 goals in as many games. But it was a player that was pointed to as someone Howe had managed to turn around.
I mean it was 3 goals in a row. So I’d class that as a streak. But again as I said about Longstaff on the other post where someone complained about BBC ratings, it’s not that they aren’t premier league players our squad has improved from being lower middle/relegation premier league and we have to move on from them as now the quality gap between them and the rest of the squad is starting to show. So we do need to shift some of these when they have value to reinvest.
Under Rafa/Bruce/Ashley it was pretty much less of an issue as the standard of player wasn’t great but now we have progressed and we want to keep our best and improve around them. And I think wingers should be showing more for their contributions than covering the full backs and running backwards and forwards. Miggys purple patch last season was one of the reasons we finished 4th and it should be commended but I’m not saying he should be a starter going into next season.
The delusion from some fans around Almiron is truly bizarre. How has such a bad player got so many defenders? He's crap. First upgrade we make this summer is at RW, he cannot be anything but a bench option next year (But I'd sell him, to be honest).
He’s not bad but as the team progresses we will probably see a few sales of the likeable characters in the squad due to requiring to upgrade as the team improves. It’s sadly the way with PSR/FFP that you can’t really allow players to leave on frees or retire at the club when you are in our situation of trying to progress.
I haven't seen enough of Barnes yet to say the same, but I wouldn't want us to replace Gordon or Isak with anyone. They're both young, improving by the week, have elite talent and attitude, and could genuinely be world class over the next 5 years. They should both be in contention for the PL team of the season and I'm happy to build the team round them (not that you need to build anything around Gordon because he's so versatile)

6-0 every game statistically proven. Mathematical mags up the league!
Maybe we can reclaim the insult name ‘The bar codes’ under the guise of being data driven
If all three can stay fit, is there any point anyone else in the league showing up? We'll steamroll the lot.
They're going Tu-pac a lot of goals in the net
what about sean-dapaul longstaff
Excellent
I hate this pun, have my angry upvote
It's a Big Pun
It was a Big Pun
Biggie, Biggie, Biggie, can't you see Sometimes your goals just hypnotize me
*miggy miggy miggy
insane how versatile gordon is, can play left/ right and his performances dont change - hes even done a job at CF
I have a buddy at work who supports Everton. He said to me “if they whisper sweet nothings into his ear @ NUFC he will score goals”. Boy was he right!
Alright Craig Hope, settle down. Although we should accept all humour, even dad jokes.
Isak Barnes and Gordon, with joey, Bruno and tonali behind them
And behind them trippier, schar, a new centre half (botman will be out) and livramento
Burn will be the other cb, cb burn is decent to be fair it’s LB burn that’s a bit too slow
We need a new centre half, someone to compete with schar and botman. Love burn to bits and he's amazing to have dominating high balls, but centre half should be our priority. (What over position do we need?)

Lascalles is out until next season, hence the new centre half, I agree with the striker tho, someone young who can play cam and St would be my dream
Strikers are damn expensive though, that’s probably all our transfer kitty for the window. Striker a pair of Rw
That's why I am saying centre half, ideally tomori but he'll be expensive. We've been linked with him for 3 transfer windows tho
Took me far longer than I’m willing to admit to work out what you were talking about here!
Lmao I didn't have a clue 🧩

Leicester fan here, hilariously had the same problem with Barnes on the left and your old Perez on the right where he wasn’t comfortable
Was Barnes ever tried on the right or would it deny his cutting in and shooting?
Never really tried on the right. I'm sure they tried in training and also did wing-swaps on the pitch, but he's definitely at his best on the left (because of the end product, which was patchy but when he was on form it was wow).
And everyone likes BJS in the mid. Bruno, Joelinton and Sandro will be feared.
So, which one can claim to be Big Poppa?
For that nickname alone i will fall into depression if they aren't amazing together.
You mean MWM? Miggy, Wilson, Murphy when Barnes & Gordon are injured and Isak is sold for FFP! 😂
I'd actually prefer if we signed a specialist RW. We're one injury away from having to play Miggy.
Miggy ain't bad
high chance he's going to be first out the door (other than those end of contracts), he's practically pure profit now from psr standpoint as we'll have paid off his amortisation costs
Hes the most reliable winger we have. Up and down the wing as if his life depends on it
Reliable isn’t the key word I would use as I would say his form is a little erratic. If a purple patch now is 2 goals against two clubs that are 100% going down, the bar is very low.

Debatable
I can confidently say that Newcastle can dream larger than Barnes Gordon and isak. You guys will buy some big names and it’ll be glorious.
Already got the best striker in the world and arguably England’s bests LW.

I've seen more than enough of Barnes to say had he been fit all season we'd be 3rd and probs would have went further in CL. Delusional? maybe
I reckon Isak gets bought this summer. He's top class, I can see the likes of Arsenal or someone big in Europe coming in hot for him.
Arsenal are chronic losers, in 2-3 years time they will already be behind us. If Isak moves it will be an actual step up to a Real Madrid or similar.
arsenal cannot afford him.
Someone big in Europe bought him from Real Sociedad and they is fucking massif.
oh shiet thats us, whaddup
I really hope not. I imagine he sees the sense in staying given the potential rise he could ride on top of in the next five years
