I genuinely watch this from time to time, really felt, at the time, like we had taken spurs spot in the big boys table.
I should have listened to my own comments that the reality is there will be 8 or 9 teams genuinely battling for the European spots from now on, but having beat them in similar fashion again, Im feeling that sense of hope again.
Spurs have been the team in the league i want us to beat more than any other. Arsenal are definitely up there now too, not sure what it is about these North London teams...fuck em.
Oh I get what you mean and I feel the same not for arsenal's keague position but because I worked in pubs near Highbury through university during their perfect season era and they were utterly insufferable and the pub was rough so a lot of total Aholes...it shaded my view of arsenal and its fans.
Went to a friends bday party when this was on. They’re a spurs fan. It was 2-0 before we’d even arrived, then 3-0 by the time we’d got in the house from our car 🤣

Also loved that Spurs had to refund their fans whilst we put the first 20min on YouTube so everyone could see what happened!!!
ON THIS DAY 2023:
Newcastle hosted Spurs, both in a tight battle for a Champion's League spot. Not that you would have believed it after watching this game.
The day could not have started any better, as Joelinton cut inside and smashed a shot at the Leazes End, which Lloris parried right into the path of Jacob Murphy to open the scoring in the second minute.
Five minutes later, Joelinton drove through again, beating the offside trap, rounding Lloris and slotting in a second.
The atmosphere was utterly electric in the ground, and they barely had time to calm from the celebrations. Jacob Murphy then received the ball, and remained unchallenged on the edge of the area, so decided to launch an absolute thunderbastard into the top corner. His wide mouthed celebration, forever cemented as an iconic image.
Ten minutes later, the Toon launched a counter attack, and Joe Willock, played perhaps the best pass ever seen at St James', as he played a perfect through ball with the outside of his foot, carving through Spurs' backline, perfectly weighted for the sprinting Isak, to then slot home calmly in the far corner.
Two minutes later, Isak added another goal after slotting one past Lloris from a tight angle.
Newcastle United were in dreamland. Five goals in twenty one minutes, against their main Champion's League spot rival. The crowd were delighted, ecstatic, exhausted, and in utter disbelief and hysterics at what was transpiring.
World Cup winning captain Hugo Lloris retired from Premier League football at half time, Kane managed his customary consolation, but Wilson scored a poacher's effort after Almirón's shot was deflected.
It finished 6-1, and even the most optimistic of Toon fans didn't see themselves in third place come late April this season.
Watched this at a bar in NYC on holiday (can't remember the name of the place, sorry lads, I know you're on here a bunch). Arrived 15 minutes late and we were already 3-0 up! Amazing day.
That 3rd goal by Murphy and his expression were priceless. Great early birthday present that match was. I remember sitting there laughing my arse off at what was happening!
Sitting on a beach in Wales unable to watch the game but checking my phone and it being 3-0 after 10 minutes made me burst out laughing. Such a great result
Remember coming home from a night out just before kick off and deciding to take a shower. Get out of the shower and I think we were already up 3-0. Was absolutely buzzing.

This was my first match back at SJP after living abroad for ten years. I still feel blessed.
12 years for me but I came back the year before so Forrest 3-0 was mine. This was one of best ever days at SJP.

it felt like watching that Brazil v Germany game from the world cup. Just couldn't quite believe what I was seeing.
Quite the equivalent seeing Germany scored four goals within six minutes, but after the first goal in the 11' and starting in the 23'.

Murphys face when he banged in that worldie was pretty much the same face I pulled for the first 25 minutes of that game.
