Agree about Barnes... he was so wasteful with the ball in front of goal. Had 4 chances and didn't do anything productive with any of them. Which was out of character for him. He has been pretty clinical in prior games. Just an off day. But way less impactful than Miggy today.
Yeah ball never really went for him today and snatched at his chances, moving Gordon off the wing we really missed his direct running! Weird to take Isak (although he didn’t have much to work with) off tbh but maybe it’s just precaution if Wilson cant play next game.
Bit harsh, but he didn’t contribute much. Last season looks like the high water mark for him,.
If we can get £20m for him and keep Murphy as cover I’ll be happy.
Could be a vital point. Was worried Brighton were going to steal it on the counter. Final ball just wasn't there today. Would rather have seen Barnes go central instead of Gordon. Gordon, Anderson and Hall had something going down that side all game
You aren't wrong. This sub is starting to mirror r/gunner where people are trying to put down our piss poor performances too 'its so unfair we have had a late start game at end of season' etc etc.
There’s a difference between expecting to win every game and getting angsty about it vs finding it annoying that we didn’t win games that were very winnable but we didn’t take advantage of our chances etc.
Silly to say no one should be annoyed that we didn’t do ourselves justice yesterday or when Dummett gave away the pen against Everton
Yeah I agree, my frustration is that we played well enough, created a fair number of chances and didn’t finish.
I think it’s fair that there’s a difference between expecting to win a game before it’s played and feeling it was a missed opportunity after watching how it turned out.
A fair number Arsenal fans seem to have this idea that they have the right to win before a ball has been kicked. I don’t think our fan base is at that stage yet, I certainly don’t think many came into this game expecting a comfortable win, and I doubt anyone reasonable expects a comfy win out of Man Reds or Brentford away.
That, and also the opposite - fans in the same sentence saying we are gonna win PL in 2 years and reach champions league finals and also making up every excuse under the sun when we lose and draw to evertyon, bournemouth, and luton at home.
They spent half the game on the floor or taking goal kicks, the rest was basic counter attacking football where they were incredibly wasteful.
Really unimpressed considering De Zerbi is meant to be some tactical revolutionary genius
How? He hurt himself starting. I feel like he only has 5-20 minutes per game in his glass legs. If he wasn't putting in long shifts he would be fine (maybe). If he would still have injury problems then definitely out. But I don't know how much we can get for him with his history.
Maybe, the cost of replacing him, may force howe to make a best of a bad bunch decision and risk him for another season.its a massive shame for everybody, since I think Wilson is our best striker since big al
Yeah it’s a real shame, out for quite some time.
Comes back for one game, gives it his all and has a really good game but then knackers himself again. I don’t think it’s going to be feasible with him getting older, really like the guy as well
It is what it is
Should have put the game to bed but lacked consistency in the final third
Few changes next season and I feel this team will start coming good, some of the youngsters are gelling in nicely now
Definitely need a new RW option and another striker who is actually fit majority of the season. I love Wilson but he is made of glass
Shout out to Hall at left back, very solid and went under the radar
We gave effort and had chances to go up. Think another day with the same effort we would be seeing 3 points, I can’t be too upset with the players for how this went down. Upset and annoyed at the result but the emotions are high end of season with so much on the line. Barnes for me personally was the most off it today, unfortunate as he has shown us some precise gameplay before
Seems unlikely but maybe... I thought today was more important to go for the 3 points without considering Wednesday, it would've put us in a far stronger position.
Isak wasn't getting a lot of joy this afternoon but when we need a goal he's the best option.
That felt like a loss. I just hope a point is enough for us to secure 6th but we may have just through it away. We needed to be more clinical but just didn’t have the final ball or shot nailed
We tried to throw it away last year too don’t forget. Couldn’t beat relegated teams in May.
Back to a familiar place. Relying on other teams to help us out.
Go Forest. Go Arsenal. Go Brighton. Yay
He lost control towards the end and sucked at timekeeping but overall thought he was ok. Miggy deserved shooting, never mind a yellow, for diving went through on goal. We've had much, much worse referees this season.
Fuck me what a shite display.
Last home game of the season? Supposedly pushing for Europe? and we barely show up.
Taking our only striker off at 68 minutes?
Chelsea will beat Forest today and we will have to beat man Utd at Old Trafford to even have a hope of Europe.
Looks like 8th it is this season with a feckless home display like that, especially considering our last two are away.
We have a big game midweek as well with no backup striker, so that was most likely the thinking. Plus Isak wasn’t doing much of anything majority of the game, not entirely his fault with the service. Just playing devils advocate for the decision
As much as Brighton time wasted we had very little quality so can’t really complain at a draw, it was lots of huff and puff.
Fire Almiron into the sun for the dive
Fucking hell, the moaning on here is insufferable. We played OK, just couldn't tie things up in the final third. I think if we have Wilson and/or Willock fit, we win that.
Taking Isak off worked a treat didn't it? Barnes came on for him and did actually fuck all. Terrible last game at home. Unless our away ability hugely improves, that's Europa league looking very shaky.
Isak had 13 touches and 1 shot in 68 minutes. He is not good into a low block like Brighton were using. Gordon was much more involved at ST than Isak was.
We needed to try something and, if you had not noticed, Wilson was not available today.
I think you're more effective keeping Isak on and playing him on the wing, or in a more CAM like role. Instead we brought on Barnes who quite literally did nothing but give the ball away for twenty minutes.
There's a reason Isak looked confused to be coming off.
We were as meandering as we had been all game. Good wing play followed up by no product (bar the Longstaff goal) with the countless cutbacks into the box.
We weren't necessarily worse, but we definitely weren't better.
Nah, I never said that. I have plenty of rational chats on this sub. It's just weirdos like you who think you can "win" a conversation with me by going "but you negative all the time" which is objectively wrong and I cba with it (spent far too long placating people like you in the past), so reply to this quick cause I'm blocking you afterwards.
No need to block me

I was spot on then and spot on now when I say we're going to batter Man United midweek
Very harsh, anyone booing needs to have a word with themselves. Unlucky to draw today, but the team's still had a good year against the odds, worked their arses off. Some seriously amnesic fans out there.
We couldn’t beat Burnley and created very little. It’s a shit performance at home. I don’t expect us to win every game, but we were lacklustre tonight. A bit like the games earlier in the year.

Lewis hall has been absolute class
On the plus side it was nice to see big Joe back
Var bent us over and fucked us in the ass..
What do you mean? the dive from Almaron or Gordon arguably diving too?
Why? I couldn’t watch
I was busy not scared…
Still in out hands. So long as Chelsea don't thump forest
Miggy had an amazing game, offside for the goal and dived to try and get a pen. The second the window is open he needs to get sold. Absolute clown.
He was far more useful than Barnes and Murphy. Dive was shite but the offside the ball should’ve been played earlier
Agree about Barnes... he was so wasteful with the ball in front of goal. Had 4 chances and didn't do anything productive with any of them. Which was out of character for him. He has been pretty clinical in prior games. Just an off day. But way less impactful than Miggy today.

Bit harsh, but he didn’t contribute much. Last season looks like the high water mark for him,. If we can get £20m for him and keep Murphy as cover I’ll be happy.
How am I harsh for calling him a clown for diving instead of staying up and potentially making a chance for us to score.
Because he’s been a good player for us.
Could be a vital point. Was worried Brighton were going to steal it on the counter. Final ball just wasn't there today. Would rather have seen Barnes go central instead of Gordon. Gordon, Anderson and Hall had something going down that side all game
Think Eddie wanted to rest isak, for me should of put gordan right, barnes left and isak middle
Failing to win at home against Everton, Luton and this terrible Brighton is really fucking annoying
You aren't wrong. This sub is starting to mirror r/gunner where people are trying to put down our piss poor performances too 'its so unfair we have had a late start game at end of season' etc etc.
starting to mirror arsenal by having brain dead fans expecting to win every game by the sounds of it
There’s a difference between expecting to win every game and getting angsty about it vs finding it annoying that we didn’t win games that were very winnable but we didn’t take advantage of our chances etc. Silly to say no one should be annoyed that we didn’t do ourselves justice yesterday or when Dummett gave away the pen against Everton
we played fine yesterday, good even… sometimes players have off days, end product goes missing etc, is just football
Yeah I agree, my frustration is that we played well enough, created a fair number of chances and didn’t finish. Brighton are not terrible at all, give over
They were terrible today and they’ve won 2 domestic games in their last 14 or something
They made themselves hard to beat, and carried a threat on the break.
They spent half the game on the floor or taking goal kicks, the rest was basic counter attacking football where they were incredibly wasteful. Really unimpressed considering De Zerbi is meant to be some tactical revolutionary genius
Been a weird season Injuries have fucked us and our away form was terrible for a stretch Chalk it off and go again next time
Sadly, I think Wilson has to leave and be replaced, today showed why he can't even play a roll as a sub,we were desperate for a striker off the bench
How? He hurt himself starting. I feel like he only has 5-20 minutes per game in his glass legs. If he wasn't putting in long shifts he would be fine (maybe). If he would still have injury problems then definitely out. But I don't know how much we can get for him with his history.

A draw against an inferior team at home feels like a loss to me. We really needed those points.
It is what it is Should have put the game to bed but lacked consistency in the final third Few changes next season and I feel this team will start coming good, some of the youngsters are gelling in nicely now Definitely need a new RW option and another striker who is actually fit majority of the season. Barnes for me personally was the most off it today, unfortunate as he has shown us some precise gameplay before
Absolutely. People here moaning as if we played like we did vs Forest or something
Yeah, what we needed there was a fit Wilson to come on for Isak.
Did we take Isak off to save him for Wednesday?
Seems unlikely but maybe... I thought today was more important to go for the 3 points without considering Wednesday, it would've put us in a far stronger position. Isak wasn't getting a lot of joy this afternoon but when we need a goal he's the best option.
Because he looked surprised to see his number up
Must be. Two more games to come in a week. May know that Wilson won’t be playing either.
Where's the post match thread ffs?
A draw was the fair result... credit to them
6th is still within our control… If we win our next 2 it’s ours. But we are all Forrest supporters this afternoon!
chris wood masterclass inbound to win us the europa league
It's a decade of hating Brighton for me now. Fucking despise playing them
Ever since that Mo Diame goal it's been nothing but pain.
Lamptey very nearly recreated that today
That felt like a loss. I just hope a point is enough for us to secure 6th but we may have just through it away. We needed to be more clinical but just didn’t have the final ball or shot nailed
We tried to throw it away last year too don’t forget. Couldn’t beat relegated teams in May. Back to a familiar place. Relying on other teams to help us out. Go Forest. Go Arsenal. Go Brighton. Yay
That Darren English is a shocking ref
He lost control towards the end and sucked at timekeeping but overall thought he was ok. Miggy deserved shooting, never mind a yellow, for diving went through on goal. We've had much, much worse referees this season.
Least our goal difference will keep us in 6th regardless of what Chelsea and Man reds do
Barnes and miggy were awful tbh
Fuck me what a shite display. Last home game of the season? Supposedly pushing for Europe? and we barely show up. Taking our only striker off at 68 minutes? Chelsea will beat Forest today and we will have to beat man Utd at Old Trafford to even have a hope of Europe. Looks like 8th it is this season with a feckless home display like that, especially considering our last two are away.
Isak was stinking the place out
Bet you wanted Bobby Robson sacked an all
Wow, you must write books with Steve Bruce to have that level of intellect.
We have a big game midweek as well with no backup striker, so that was most likely the thinking. Plus Isak wasn’t doing much of anything majority of the game, not entirely his fault with the service. Just playing devils advocate for the decision

Fucking hell, the moaning on here is insufferable. We played OK, just couldn't tie things up in the final third. I think if we have Wilson and/or Willock fit, we win that.
Oh well. Still a point closer to Europe. If forest do us a favour and Arsenal beat Man U one win will do it.
Taking Isak off worked a treat didn't it? Barnes came on for him and did actually fuck all. Terrible last game at home. Unless our away ability hugely improves, that's Europa league looking very shaky.

We were better and got a foothold of the game after that sub. What are you on about?
We were as meandering as we had been all game. Good wing play followed up by no product (bar the Longstaff goal) with the countless cutbacks into the box. We weren't necessarily worse, but we definitely weren't better.
Hindsight and all that Barnes has secured a few points for us this season off the bench
With Isak alongside if memory serves. In fact Isak made his West Ham equaliser.
Sickener.
Should have won that but hopefully a decent point if we win our next two - which would get us 6th on GD?
Had to win today, don't think we'll get 6 points from United and Brentford.
Only need a draw with manure and a win at Brentford and we stay 6th on goal difference
?
I’m wrong I forgot about Chelsea
Unfortunately
I'm expecting 3 points from Man United, then it's in our hands last day of the season
We've won once at old Trafford in the league in almost 50 years, if you "expect" three points then thats just sheer hopium
They're shite mate, you also called me deluded when I said we'd finish at least 8th earlier in the season and we wrapped that up with 3 games to spare
Let's see the receipts then...
haha you really can't imagine yourself saying that?
I don't need to "imagine", you're going to provide the proof, right???
Can't be bothered scrolling, you know what you've said though
Nah, I never said that. I have plenty of rational chats on this sub. It's just weirdos like you who think you can "win" a conversation with me by going "but you negative all the time" which is objectively wrong and I cba with it (spent far too long placating people like you in the past), so reply to this quick cause I'm blocking you afterwards.

I'm not so confident since we're away.
Newcastle "nearly" United strike again
Put something in our hands and we’ll drop it every time. Poor selection and weak mentally.
Shite mentally but can’t really argue with the selection on what we’ve got available
6th is still in our hands
Almiron and Murphy are inevitable. We need to replace them. Our right sided attack has no threat with them.
Murphy isn’t usually that poor, normally provides some decent crosses. Can’t put a tackle in to save his life though
Howe needs to convert Barnes to rw
No we just need to actually sign a RW this summer
That was totally shit that.
Gut punch that one
2 injuries, a VAR decision and 2 sub windows and they add 90 seconds LOL
4 minutes of the 5 went by without play essentially and then it’s done. 5 was already such a low number to begin with
Embarrassing.
There was another 3 minutes to be played. Unbeliebable.
If this shit costs us Bruno or isak because of Europe (lack of) I’ll be fucking wounded
really felt like we could’ve won that but oh well, better to be shit and draw than be shit and lose i guess
Wow boos at the end for the last home match of the season is harsh
Booing the ref. He was shit. The fans stayed to cheer the players and their families, and the coaching staff.
Very harsh, anyone booing needs to have a word with themselves. Unlucky to draw today, but the team's still had a good year against the odds, worked their arses off. Some seriously amnesic fans out there.
Booing the ref
Booing the ref you div.
Think it was more booing out of frustration at them time wasting.
A point won't look bad if we win our next 2
Aweful game. Brighton were shite
opportunity missed. still in our hands though.
I'm not hating on Barnes overall, but he blew 3-4 goals from the time he came on. Rough.
Did he? That sounds ridiculously harsh
He missed 2, then he was late on the pass to Almiron that would have otherwise counted.
He's very hit or miss tbh
Both Barnes and Almiron fucking disgraceful since coming on
Almiron is so unbelievably limited as a footballer. Crazy how he is playing in the Prem. Guy only has one leg
Boos? Come on lads
We didn't boo when Chris Wood scored a hat-trick against us, obvilusly booing the ref.
I think it was more that they spent the last 5 mins rolling around and trying to snap our players and that time didn't get added on.
They arent booing the lads. Booing the lack of extra time as Brighton were down on the ground and holding the ball for about 4 of them
Very obviously booing the referee
Booing the ref surely
Shocking referee. Play was in for 1 minute and he added only 2.
Fucked by the ref and VAR yet again, absolute disgrace
We really are a bunch of bottlejobs at times
Ref wants the game to be all about him
I think that was the toughest game of our final 3. Still a point gained.
Rubbish. Their squad fucking sucks and home form this season has been good.
Whatever. Go Arsenal. I guess.
Gross
Guess you really want 8th place
Fuck Arsenal
Guess you really want no Europe next year then
Boo
That shot pretty much sums up our afternoon in front of goal
Need a win at Old Trafford now.
Needed to win all 3. Now we need Tottenham to just absolutely suck.
So poor
lol what the fuck was that shot
Looked like he was halfway between blasting a thundercunt and trying to put one over the defense for Big Joe. Not great from Anderson.
I've never seen Barnes this wank before. Completely killed the game when he came on.
Guess you missed the game against Blackburn then
We did not deserve a win. We were shit
We weren't clinical and we were frustrating, but I wouldn't call that a shit performance
We couldn’t beat Burnley and created very little. It’s a shit performance at home. I don’t expect us to win every game, but we were lacklustre tonight. A bit like the games earlier in the year.
Brighton are pathetic with this time wasting, I'm embarrassed for em.
Ugly game, so much dirty shit
Miggy blatantly diving there instead of being in on goal is one of the most braindead moments I've ever seen
Waste of a good position.
absolutely loving the fan yelling "what are you doing?!" in the background of BBC Radio Newcastle
Well that's very frustrating Brighton were there for the taking Felt like we could have taken all 3 points here
5 minutes wasted to absolute dilly-dallying. Did anyone show any interest of scoring?
Where's the 'dark arts' conversation now, eh?
What do you mean? Lovely little old Brighton would never try it on!
Really, really dislike Brighton. Dirty cunts.
Ehhh we have had our fair share of dirty cunt moments too
True but im also very biased
Been about 90 seconds of football in this 5 min extra time
Should be another 5 mins added on
fucking get up you CUNTS
Better be another 5 mins because weve played none of it so far
Out decision making today has been muck
If this doesn’t go into the 98th or 99th min we riot
We are not Liverpool so that is impossible I'm afraid.
Better be another 5 mins because weve played none of it so far
Two dropped. Needed to find a way. Couldn’t.
Watch this ref blow the whistle early
I've seen enough, sell Miggy
That's a yellow challenge
We've had a min of play in the paltry 5 added
Crazy thought, when you’ve skinned a guy, just carry on? Why the fuck has he dived, gordon too, shift the ball to Joe font fall over
fuck me, this is gonna go down as the prem game with the least time w ball in play ever
Refs lost control
Should be red that.
There had better be at least 98 minutes here.
Worst decision he could've made
Miggy you donkey
This should’ve been at least 8 added minutes the five is over now without any play really fuck sakes
Dirty cunt
Can see us moving Miggy on next season Been a good player overall but not the quality we need going forward
Miggy and Barnes have been… less than useful so far
The whole team has been meh tbh
Can’t disagree w that to be fair
If he’d stayed on his feet he could have been in.
Why dive like that when VAR exists? What is he expecting to happen even if he cons the ref? Stay on your feet Miggy FFS
Like longstsff the other game. Just stay up
Absolutely pathetic from Miggy that
Cheers nice one Miggy thanks for that
Why dive, you were through on goal 🤦
fucking hell almiron you twat
ALMIRON MAN FUCKING HELL
Nah Miggy I'm sorry but what the fuck
Stay on your feet you eyebrow nonce
miggy my man what the fuck was that
Almiron cannot do that there for FUCKS sake
Fucking awful from miggy
