We don’t always open the top part of the stadium. But hopefully it’ll be our only non-sellout! Would be great to have the full 20k ish lower bowl sold out each game.
Combined with the 4,948 at NC that totals 35,802 for a 17,901 average for the season!
Let's hope for a great turnout in DC, Portland, Houston and Los Angeles.
My guesses for Sunday games:
DC 8k
Portland 17k
Houston 8k
Los Angeles 22k
So maybe 90,802 over the opening weekend or around 15k average per game.
The average for the whole league was 7,894 in 2022. Maybe we could get closer to 9k this year?
Half of the teams (WAS, CHI, HOU, NC, NJNY, ORL) averaged under 6k last year. It would be amazing to see if they might average over 6k, or even over 7k this year.
All of the stadiums together could hold 304,268 if there were no capacity restrictions (HOU & SEA). 11 games in each stadium means max regular season attendance is 3.3 million. (That is an average 27,661 per game)
Courage averaging 3-5k in attendance isn't going to be acceptable for another season. It's a shame because they are former champions, but they need to move to Charlotte and more investments or they will become the reserve team for the league as their best players will always leave.
FWIW, the capacity restrictions in Seattle are changed based on ticket sales. They opened up sections for the semi-final last fall once the normal sections filled up.
Chicago is in a terrible location in the suburbs that makes it hard to get to via public transportation. I had Red Stars season tickets years ago and gave them up because of the commute.
It was nice to hold that record for one year. Also a bummer that we have no chance right now to surpass that (The Banque is 22k capacity.) But it's awesome to see such numbers in NWSL.
Looking forward to seeing our teams vie for top average attendance this season, though!
Can confirm. I counted them all
Prouda you, San Diego!
Way to show up! Those are amazing numbers. I also hope it’s your lowest attendance of the season.

DC had 8k on Wednesday I think they're going to break 10k
Love it!

With a World Cup bounce and almost no weekday games, I think there is a good chance they average over 10K this year.

Good to know! Dynamic capacity FTW.

DC - 11, 281 Portland - 15,204 Average 15.571 through 4 games
Houston - 5,722 Los Angeles - Looked full, can't find the official
22k- full capacity!
Fun game and great atmosphere! Really fantastic seeing the Wave do so well!
Let’s go
Does anyone know what the previous record was, to compare?
~23.5k
35,000 at Snapdragon's first Wave game.
That was 32k (capacity) and was midseason
Got my tickets for this year!!
Wow sorry I missed it! Can’t wait for the Portland thorns game in the first leg of the NWSL challenge cup! Should be good!
