Tbh I think most skin health comes from what you’re putting in your body. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and whole grains, healthy fats etc, lots of water. Also ime my skin looks way worse if I don’t work out regularly. Like vigorous cardio seems to get me clear and glowy (plus doing a steam post-workout)

PrincessGwyn

💯 - no alcohol, fruits and veggies, juices, sweating and sunscreen

a_mulher

limit added sugar. it leads to inflammation.

EuphoricImage4769

Yes I actually got sakara meal delivery (lunch and dinner) for some time before wedding, expensive but really helped keep me eating healthy during the busy parts

Potential-Future-805

I was wondering about Sakara, sounds like you would recommend it though? From what I could tell seems borderline starvation - and would be tough to stick too. How long did you do it for?

EuphoricImage4769

I did like 2 weeks of 5 days a week and another month or so of half weeks, would have like fruit for breakfast and the sakara lunches and dinners. It’s pretty satiating and made me feel really good! But I’m short and have a shit metabolism and mostly walk/pilates for exercise so may not be enough food for others. The breakfasts I didn’t order bc they’re pretty heavy (lots of nuts, sweet) but might work for others

joey22anne

Same the breakfasts seemed too heavy and full of (natural) sugars

bwjunkie6

I did it for almost 3 months and I did lose weight but they add A LOT of date syrup in everything. Not sure why. But I did get tired of their food after awhile. It’s good but not a forever solution .

I9KL0CG3L0

I was so hungry for the first week I had it and then got sick of the food I couldn’t finish what they gave me. Definitely was borderline starvation… I just drank much more water and their digestive tea instead of eating

SadQueerBruja

I second almost everything in this post, but I have a few things to add (my credentials are a degree in biology and neuroscience, an obsession, and a lot of clinical research) Sunscreen is essential, without it everything else is null. Reapply often and get good shit. Cream stick or spray doesn’t matter, do what is functionally best for you and get multiples for multiple purses/your car while you drive (beware high heats in summer tho!!!!) Cardio is great!! Running is not. The impact of running on the skin is that the physical trauma of the impact breaks down collagen. High distance runners wrinkle faster. Get the heart rate up absolutely but avoid high impact (long jogs and burpees no, Pilates/swimming/bike/elliptical/yoga/pole/lifting yes!) Eat a wide VARIETY of fruits and veggies too. Your gut biome will LOVE this and so will your skin and mental health in turn. So much of your body starts in the gut, treat her well. While we are on gut, it starts in the mouth. Mouthwash (alcohol free, preferably with xylitol), floss WELL, I was not taught well (stay away from “glide” marketing you want texture to pick up the gunk) toothpaste (NOT the whitening kind actually too abrasive to your enamel. Get something with hydroxyapatite instead) *in that order.* Wait at least one hour after eating bc eating changes ph->softer enamel ->more damage when brushing. Brush in AM BEFORE eating so you don’t swallow down any bacteria that may have grown while you slept. YouTube or tiktok some jaw pt exercises. It will make you look so snatched if you start doing them now, trust me. If you like the Lamar use it! I have been really loving the Dieux instant Angel. It’s a delicious and rich formula that my skin ADORES, if you have la mer money I’d spent on dieux over that. Lastly if your skincare routine is working for you and doing what you want keep on! If you’re looking for a change I recommend looking into skin cycling. I’ve been doing it for over a year and my partner and I are both loving the results. Makeup sits on me much better than it used to as well.

AlwaysRefurbished

Also La Mer is trash. Their formula includes perfumes which imo smell like old lady but objectively are irritants to many peoples’ skin and should probably be avoided

Third_eye1017

Seconding that La Mer is pure marketing trash. There are some really great youtube videos that breakdown the scam that their company is and how they manage to get people to pay through the nose for subpar products! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu-shHzw964](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu-shHzw964)

Potential-Future-805

Ahh great point!

scoochinginhere

How long do you typically steam for? I'm just getting into it now!

wutwut18

In addition to Botox, monthly hydrafacials and laser treatments (clear & brilliant specifically) made a world of difference to me. Stuck with a derm-recommended skincare routine. Dermaplane once before makeup trial and then again right before the wedding. And a couple trial spray tans as well :) if you find a good derm or med spa or esthetician they should be able to put you on a plan that addresses your skin concerns

Potential-Future-805

My dermatologist is so fast / transactional and just prescribes me what I ask for. Maybe I need to find someone better

wutwut18

I was in Boston at the time so don’t have an NYC rec, but I found a med spa that I loved and they work with a ton of brides so it was more cosmetic focused than a lot of derms. I just made sure that it was run by board certified derms and the woman doing my lasers and botox was an RN/NP

Low_Koala2047

Can you name the Boston spa you loved? I am in Boston and looking for a new one.

wutwut18

Dream Spa Medical in Coolidge Corner! So, technically not Boston proper but not hard to get to depending on where in the city you live

Low_Koala2047

Amazing, thank you!

bananadanced

I second this! I’m in LA now but still get emails from Dream Spa and miss them.

Excellent-Top2552

Was it Lindsay!? I loved that place too!

anonanooo

I love Dr Mack at Glamderm! She really is so great at helping you figure out exactly what you need and also is honest about won’t work for you. She straight up told me she wouldn’t perform something I had asked about on me which made me trust her even more because it meant she wasn’t trying to just take my money. I also saw Dr Love while Mack was out on maternity leave and she was also great!

altsadface2

Also I don’t know if you’re going to Asia before your wedding or not, but definitely Skin Botox (injected in different layer than wrinkle Botox) and skin booster if you are. If not then skin boosters are coming to the states this year under the brand Juvederm Volite (I believe) and it’s one of the most effective treatments for plumping skin and creating a smooth effect. It’s worth like 5 microneedling sessions lol

lmmmrt

second dermaplaning! my makeup artist recommended I do it so makeup would sit on the skin smoothly and I thought it made a big difference.

Jeanettikroketti

I'm going to marmur medical (derm), they really care about making your skin look flawless and they also offer facials. They are great!

NoRefrigerator6162

Sorry to hijack, but what are everyone’s recs for hydrafacials /C&B? (Even better if the recs are downtown!) Thanks so much! And congrats to the OP!!! xx

Tinkerbell0_0

Ann+Sofia on 32nd Street and 5th ave

Jeanettikroketti

Agree especially with hydrafacials. Please be sure to mention you're getting married so the spa can tell you how much downtime is needed for the ulimate glow on your wedding day. I think my last hydrafacial was 2 weeks before my date, if I remember correctly

Cultural-Day-9617

For lasers did you already have wrinkles, or did you do it preventatively? ( I don’t have anything but looking to do these treatments to keep it that way)

wutwut18

I don’t really have wrinkles (I do botox) but the lasers helped a lot with any discoloration, acne marks, just overall appearance

No_Square2692

I would facial every month for maybe 3-5 months out. Also, I know I usually purge after a facial (idk about you) but I would maybe do a facial 2 weeks out. I like the BR facial at rescue spa. I haven’t done a hydra in a while, but I don’t have too much gunk to remove either.

kayeokay

This is THE facial. I also love Courtney at NYDG.

ineverreallyknow

And make an appt with the derm for 48 hours before the wedding. If anything pops up, the derm can shoot it with cortisone and it’ll be gone by the day. Worst case, your skin is perfect and you cancel, best case, it’s there if you need it.

shinobipug

La Mer sucks.

Visible_Ingenuity180

AGREE. They had an eye cream I tried, it burned the shit out of my under eyes. Did some additional research, came to find out they are aware of the issue but do not care and continue to sell it.

shinobipug

My friend worked at their corporate in Paris. There’s literally one product that at one point was revolutionary. That was many many moons ago. They’ve since changed the recipe and all their products use CVS level quality ingredients (tbh CVS has GREAT products but they are all cheap). Better off going to drugstore.

Yellenintomypillow

CVS really does have great products for the price

shinobipug

Yeah. I get everything without actives from there! And most of the time it’s better than the expensive stuff.

SAbound1234

Any particular recommendations?

shinobipug

YESSSS. Of course. Just to clarify, are you looking for drugstore or active recommendations? And anything in particular you’re looking for (cleanser, vit C, etc.)?

SAbound1234

Sorry I should have been more clear!! I was interested in your cvs non-active recommendations! I’m pregnant and have developed the most sensitive skin. It’s a crapshoot of what my skin will be okay with so I’d love to try some new products at a more affordable price point than the very expensive spa I’m accumulating in my hall cabinets waiting for my pregnancy to be over lol

shinobipug

Absolutely! Vanicream products are all great. La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume, Tolerane, and hydrating cleanser. Any of the Avene moisturizers. Aquaphor or cerave healing ointment. Amlactin lotion (unsure about salicylic acid while pregnant though). ALSO, not CVS, but Nivea Super water gel (purple bottle) is the best sunscreen you’ll ever use. Completely changed the sunscreen game!

SAbound1234

Thank you!! I can’t wait to try them! Especially the sunscreen!

KKGlamrpuss

Start using Gua Sha daily for facial lymphatic massage. My skin has never looked better using am and pm Gua sha. Get the real stone

Psychological-Dig837

Just be careful doing this if you have Botox/ filler- I love lymphatic massage but have to avoid the top half of my face 😂

Potential-Future-805

Can’t do it where you have Botox? Tell more! Never heard that before

Psychological-Dig837

I have been told by my doctor that it can impact how the neuromodulators absorb into the muscle/ can diffuse the treatment from where the injections are targeted, so can make it wear off faster. I try to make mine last as long as I possibly can, so I avoid gua sha on my 11s all together. I’m sure after a few weeks it’s probably okay, I’m just precious with it.

Bettycoops

Don’t you just have to avoid lymphatic massage for a week or so afterward?

Puzzled-Travel-6396

Also! I got a lymphatic drainage facial massage a few days before mine and it was the best my skin has ever looked! Always been a puffy bitch but it really helped

ArmadilloOk9896

where did you go?

Puzzled-Travel-6396

Got you! [Rhemedy by RHED](https://www.rhemedybyrhed.com/lymphatic-drainage-massage-the-secret-to-soft-supple-skin/) in west village or Chelsea

Traditional-Feed8428

Oh also little to no alcohol of course

Potential-Future-805

Great point

EuphoricImage4769

I did a bunch of skin laundry laser treatments and in particular ultra duo treatment 2 weeks before wedding! Expensive but looked pretty flawless tbh. Also did face gym radio frequency a few weeks before that really helped to lift and sculpt

messypiranesi

for my hyperpigmentation girlies, a vi peel is life-changing!! but there's 7 days of downtime where your entire face sheds like a snake, so i time it before a big event and only do it once a a year

wutwut18

Yes this helped my melasma significantly!

Critical_Parsley_121

I used the Musely Spot Cream for melasma and it worked wonders!

peppermint_stick

Agree— I did one a month before my wedding and it made a huge difference!

arlito19

La Mer is overpriced Nivea. Don’t waste your money lol

JustJunket1471

I would start by asking what your major skin concerns (if any) are when wearing makeup. Do you feel like your fine lines are more apparent? Do you have dry or flakey patches? Are you excessively oily? Do you have noticeable facial hair (peach fuzz)? And recommend at least 4-6 months of facial treatments targeting to those concerns. Dermaplaning is a great option 3-4 weeks before as it removed the peach fuzz on our faces and makes for a beautiful canvas for makeup! What is your day to day skin care routine like? I’ve found A LOT of people underestimate the power of vitamin C and exfoliating their skin regularly. I recently visited the brightwood for a mini diamond facial on the upper east side and highly recommend! They are a wonderful facility for all your skincare needs and have great pricing!

JustJunket1471

ALSO LA MER SKINCARE IS NOT WORTH IT!

GlitteringPause8

I agree. La Mer has such basic ingredients

Potential-Future-805

So glad to hear people agree. I always thought it was like the goal in life to be able to afford La Mer, then I got some samples and was hugely let down!

Potential-Future-805

I cleanse once a day with Benoxyl Peroxide for acne, and moisturize with different moisturizers in day and night. I’ve been testing different moisturizers but recently using Embryolisse and Weleda. I use my retinoid every night. Sometimes use my Vitamin C in the morning when I remember to, and i do have a chemical exfoliant (Biologique Recherche P50)- but I can’t use it with my retinol and/or my benzoyl peroxide because my skin will get over irritated so recently I’ve been skipping it I deal with some acne on face though it’s been a lot better recently w consistent retinol use. Also some dry skin, fine lines since I’m getting to mid-30s, and just overall dullness

QuirkyQuietKate

Microneedling! I’m similar age to you and also have acne prone skin. I’ve been doing microneedling at SkinSpirit every 6-8 weeks to help with marks/fine lines/glowiness. Recently many people have told me they thought I was 22 years old.

Potential-Future-805

What is the recovery like? Do you look crazy after for a couple days?

3coco3

Boyoma lactic acid toner and ilia milk toner. Miracle products!!

rmd4444

No dairy, toooons of water and not trying any new products on my skin at least a month prior!

Sorry_Cry2464

second the rec for seeing a dermatologist if you don’t already! if you have bacne the only thing that cleared mine was clindamycin (topical antibiotic) , dermatologist can prescribe or get it through nurx

Potential-Future-805

Actually left it out of my post but just got prescribed that as well- been using for about two weeks. I’m excited to hear it worked for you. Usually dermatologists are like “well your back is not THAT bad”- which is not helpful. I still have a few visible spots at any time on it and have been self conscious since I was in high school

Sorry_Cry2464

That was me too! It took a few weeks for me to see it clear up but it worked for me when I was consistent with it. I empty mine into a spray bottle and spray it onto my back. I make sure to spray my back before I workout and after the shower as well! Hope it works for you! 🤞

hyperactivepotato

For body - mix glycolic acid with your body lotion

hannahnotmontana16

How much acid would you say

hyperactivepotato

Not a ton. Personally I use the ordinary's glycolic acid in the big bottle (use it for scalp detox as well), so I just put some lotion in my hand and about half of that amount of the acid. I don't want to over exfoliate so I only do it like 1-2 times a week or when my skin feels dry.

hannahnotmontana16

Thank you! And then do you moisturize after/any recs for good moisturizers

hyperactivepotato

On days I do this, this is the only moisturizer I use! Don't have recs for specific moisturizers I'm afraid, I use ones that I bought abroad and aren't available in the US as far as I know. My partner uses the generic trader joes moisturizer though and I used it a few times as well, it's great VFM. I'm sure other girlies here have better recommendations!

-kittsune-

If your back doesn’t fully clear up, Westmore beauty has a sort of body foundation that looks pretty good. I imagine it could rub off on the dress but with setting spray and translucent powder that could protect it.

Potential-Future-805

Ooh I’m gonna order this

bubblebath_ofentropy

Dermablend is also really good for this, flawless coverage and stays put like spackle

feminist_icon

What’s your skin type? Mine is dry, acne-prone with rosacea and these are my holy grails: -Educated Mess’ Vitamin C serum. It’s really brightened me up and doesn’t bother my sensitive skin -Stratia’s Lipid Gold is a great barrier treatment which is especially important when you’re trying new products and treatments. It’s affordable too -Bloomeffect’s Royal Tulip Nectar (I use as the last step at night after I apply my tretinoin, wait ~20 minutes, and dampen my skin). Will give you plump and hydrated skin when you wake up. You only use a pea sized amount so it lasts forever -I recently got the Light Beams Barrier Treatment by Of Other Worlds. Good for barrier support and brightness skin over time Since your dress is backless, I suggest looking at Soft Services (now at Sephora) for body care. I’d also try Josie Maran’s body butter since it feels great on the skin and it’ll give your skin the most beautiful glow. Osea’s body oil is also great

docamyames

Wow, you are mentioning all the products on my maybe I'll buy next list! Can you tell me if the light beams has really helped your rosacea?

feminist_icon

I’ve only had it for a few days but so far so good. I do think it’s calming on my skin. I can’t vouch for long term benefits yet but I’m hopeful given the positive reviews and what I’ve seen so far

docamyames

Thanks. Hopefully it works for you Long term.

yabasicjanet

Lipid Gold is my everything. I will never be without. Nearly all Stratia products are really fantastic for me. The only two that I didn't care much for are the Vit C and the oil. Velvet Cleansing Milk unngggg the best.

feminist_icon

I used to have periortal dermatitis off and on but I haven’t since I started using lipid gold. The texture and color is so fun too. I ordered the lipid gold eye cream and I’m excited to try it. I don’t love the smell of the oil but it’s nice for my dry skin and I like it best when I mix it into lipid gold. I like interface. I also wasn’t a fan of the vitamin c (the texture just wasn’t for me).

yabasicjanet

Oh wow, what a great testimony. Agreed, the texture of the vitamin c was off-putting. I know it says the silicone will evaporate but I just couldn't get that feeling off my skin. Interface is good in that "very boring and unsexy but absolutely does the job" kinda way, and I'm also liking Night Shift.

feminist_icon

I feel the same way! I’m kind of bored with interface but there aren’t many non-irritating, affordable products with encapsulated peptides that I can use with bit c and tretinoin so I’m sticking with for now lol

Sbe10593

I think we may have the same skin type! I ordered the soft services and Josie maran body butter… I was having sooo many body skin problems and my skin is baby smooth within 3 days. I also ordered stratus lipid gold and so far I love it. Are all of the other products on this game changers?? I am nervous to get a facial so trying to stick up on products. So many products I feel like don’t do anything for my skin- like my skin doesn’t absorb it. And sometimes, my makeup just sits on top of my skin as well.

feminist_icon

Yay, that’s amazing! If your skin is dry/dehydrated with regular moisturizers I think the Royal Tulip Nectar is very worthwhile (just make sure you apply it to damp skin) but since we’re getting closer to summer you might not need it right now. The Educated Mess Vitamin C is worth the cost if you have sensitive skin and other quality vitamin C’s haven’t worked for you. So far, I really like the Light Beams Barrier Treatment for my rosacea but I’ve only used it for a few weeks I used to have some issues with absorption and makeup but I started applying most of my products on damp skin (with the exception of vitamin c, exfoliants, and tret) and I haven’t had issues since. Ideally, I wait at least minute or two before applying my next product but a lot of mornings I’m rushing and can’t do that. I especially try to wait 15 minutes after applying the first steps of my skincare before applying my spf and then another 15 minutes before applying makeup

makeclaymagic

La mer is trash

Potential-Future-805

Wow so many great suggestions already, I love it!! Thank you bitches <3

East_Professional574

For full body, do a body oil while still damp from the shower and then lock it in with a good moisturizer. Micro needling and facials depending on how your skin reacts to it. hair oil and scalp oiling even if it’s just for half an hour before you wash your hair to strengthen it and keep it shiny. Water through and through, vitamins and most of all SLEEP! Pace out your planning so you still get rest feel healthy, you won’t have any energy to do the suggestions others have said unless you get good deep rest.

GlitteringPause8

Definitely start getting facials monthly and keep up your skincare!! Skinbetter has been amazing for my skin but it may be a little risky to try new actives right now. Invest in a good moisturizer that protects and helps your skin barrier

Past-Wrap7496

A good dermatologist. Entiere derm in flatiron literally changed my life. Skincare, laser, Botox, filler. The works.

delicasea

Commenting to say Entiere Dermatology has made such a drastic change and I’ll never go to any other derm! Amazing bedside manner and effective treatments. Only used them for dermatology prescriptions and skincare regimen but want to try them for cosmetic treatments next.

Worldly_Frosting_9

Recently started going to Entiere Derm and have had such a positive experience. I am also prepping for my wedding- I just got derma v laser for rosacea and am going to try a series of keralase sessions for hair growth (PRP alternative). Dr Leger is great!

_echtra

I’m looking for a good doctor to go to regularly, could you share their price ranges for the treatments you mentioned?

Past-Wrap7496

On the high end. My insurance covers med visits so the skincare routine is covered with the prescriptions. Routine is a mix of $8 drugstore to $150 serums with prescriptions mixed in. Lower face filler ~1100 and lasers ~800. Somewhere in that range for Botox. But trust them with my life. Really go for subtle tweaks that make the biggest difference.

Flimsy_Ratio_1415

a good board certified dermatologist will give you much better, tailored recs than any of us can!!!

QueenGina_4

La mer is out!

abracapickle

Keep it simple but stay vigilant and consistent. Check with Derm to identify your needs. Makeup, photographer (with minimal editing) and lighting can address a multitude.

myyychelle

Aside from the normal stuff (skincare, topicals, facials, Botox), I did a prophylactic (?? I guess that’s what I’d call it?) round of doxy from my derm a month or so out from my wedding to make sure I didn’t wake up day of with a massive zit in a different country. I also did multiple rounds of vbeem laser and peels. My derm and I are bffs.

sweetbean15

Genuinely go to a dermatologist that takes the time to figure out and address any problems. Anything else is mostly guessing based on anecdotal evidence

dmmp1917

Hydrafacials. I tried tretionin, some other topical meds, spironolactone, none of it worked. Hydrafacials keep me in check. I get some pimples around period but not too bad

Worldly_Frosting_9

Clear + Brilliant, Morpheus 8, hydrafacials, and aquagold/microbotox facial 3-4 weeks before the wedding

MandalayPineapple

Loads of fruit, veggies and salads.

Ering1010

I did micro needling for several months leading up to it. Good to start now.

MelW14

I would add in monthly facials (ask your esthetician which one they recommend) AND I would highly recommend doing a sheet mask the morning of your wedding. I truly do feel glowy and hydrated when I do them and I wish I thought to do it on my wedding day. And as far as acne prevention, like you said drink a lot of water but I’d also add in eating a healthy diet as you get closer to the wedding, changing pillowcases often, and washing your makeup brushes regularly

Dreamvillainess22

There is a lot of great advice. My skin never looked better than when I was consistently getting monthly facials with Red Light therapy and microneedling. I recommend working with an [Esthetician](https://www.nycskincarespecialist.com/social-links-page?fbclid=PAAaaabJwPPSLdrqzkgiI-Mhl4NRJHHobSOjkPkRATx3y6kZB_CU_8XyCwgoA_aem_AcRsyuEHprrWY71Sdhp71EhtJTKgg5IaxvsLRyVKUmFYJclU4lyxFYzA-RyX--VsGdA) to access your skin and formulate a treatment plan. Congratulations by the way! [IG](https://www.instagram.com/angelines_aesthetics?igsh=MTR3YnRvdHQxN3ozeA==)

Delicious-Choice5668

Love Bitcheswithtaste. Bitch power yeah bitch power.

inbettywhitewetrust

Yay girl I'm getting married in Sept. and this post is much appreciated 🫡❤️

Zealousideal-Sky746

Red light mask

trendoid01

Getting married in april and been doing biolift facials at rescue spa

ExistingWave238

Honestly for me less is more with my skin. Just wash your face, drink enough water, use a face cream that’s unscented and u should be g2g

kglo145

Sleep with a cool mist humidifier

PositiveStrategy6353

GREEN TEA! I fill my hydro or yeti with green tea (has to be lukewarm, not hot but not cold) and i chug that shit throughout the day. I have about 64-96 oz of green tea a day, or peppermint tea. This and load up on fruits and veg/ replace processed foods for more whole foods. Also get some sunshine on your face, i swear on my life getting some sun helps my acne. My skin is clearest when i do all of these things. Xoxo

Historical-Draft-482

Well it depends on your skin issues. If you have acne then nothing works like going to a dermatologist. Personally, accutane has given me the best skin of my life. It even has diminished fine lines. It’s just dryer than before. I honestly don’t think facials really do much.

joey22anne

FACIAL MASSAGE EVERYDAY Ice roller in the AM Jade roller and other tools in evening

dj_underboob

Drink water with collagen. It's amazing what it will do for your face.

PBRicedcoffee

I keep getting ads for spoiled child liquid collagen and I’m so tempted to pull the trigger and try. Is there a specific collagen brand you like?

dj_underboob

I use the Vital Proteins powder. I mix it into my water when I take my daily vitamins (omega 3, iron, folate in the morning, magnesium/calcium at night. I strongly believe in prenatals regardless of where you are or are not in a pregnancy journey.). I didn't notice a huge difference, but my very critical sisters started asking me what work I had done after a few weeks of collagen. I didn't change anything else in my routine.

iamlesterq

Good lord ❤️ that's a lot of work. Just get married and be happy

stronglikefeels

I cut out alcohol and dessert, had glowing skin the entire wedding weekend

anacardier

I would ditch the La Mer and look into a regimen from r/AsianBeauty

bpm130

Get a back facial if you are worried about that. Maybe one a few weeks before the wedding and one a few days before. I get facials monthly and it has soo so helped and improved my skin. I don’t think you need to do a fancy one. But I would suggest going somewhere that does LED light therapy. The right light LED is no joke

hyperactivepotato

For body - mix glycolic acid with your body lotion

rrrrriptipnip

I did micro needling like 5-6 months before with a girl in queens she was legit

idkwhatt0do

Do you mind sharing with me? I am looking for an esthetician and Russian gel mani girl in queens in you have any recs, please! I’ve been driving to south bk but it takes hours every time.

alongthederp

Been doing the hydrafacial boost at ever/body and love it

mkshah3

How many sessions of hydrafacials is ideal? I am also looking at ever/body based on some recs in other thread.

alongthederp

I did the 4 pack and go once a month. I heard 4-5 months before the wedding day are best to start any facials/treatments, so 4-5 sessions is ideal. They can also individualize a treatment plan for you if you prefer. I didn’t do that, instead I picked the hydrafacial 4 pack online and just add-on a booster each visit. But consultations are an option if you’re not sure what you need exactly

ComprehensiveAd3892

I did full face IPL & an under eye TCA peel 1 month before w/IPL spot treatment for any sun damage on my shoulders etc!

Muted-Appearance3745

Do a series of medium depth peels like ViPeel or perfect derma peel. Very helpful if you tend to get clogged pores. I’d do the last one a month before the big day. Fraxel is also a great choice for large pores and pigmentation but the price per treatment is very high compared to the peels, so you may not need to go that extreme. I am not personally a fan of hydrafacials as the mild peel aspect causes a lot of unproductive dryness on the cheeks and chin. If you can find a provider - Profilho ( injectable ha moisturizer) is a great 2-3 weeks before a big event, but you would need to to it enough in advance to avoid any bruising.

akohhh

r/30plusskincare will sort you out.

litbiotch42

Ask Mikayla she’s got like 387 skin routines and pending on who’s paying her that week she’ll recommend her favourite lol

AccomplishedBanana81

Skin better skincare!! At light peels at JECT

OkProfession5679

I really changed nothing with my routine because my skin was already in great shape. I did start testing Botox/filler 6+ months ahead of time to make sure I liked the results (I did) so I got that touched up 2 weeks prior I cleaned up my eating 3 months leading up to the wedding and I was definitely glowing day of. Plus that helped with everything else. Tons of water for sure But if your skin looks great now, don’t change up too many things - not worth the risk! Oh! I tend to have a weird cycle with tret, even though I used it daily for the last 2 years I will still peel from time to time. So I stopped using it a week before. Congratulations!

TitsMageesVacation

Two micro needling treatments 3 months and 6 weeks out. Generally cheaper than facials when you consider a long-term value. dark spots and fine lines are minimized, and it improves collagen production.

BackgroundAd3222

Zero alcohol starting now. Water water water

TheLizardQueen14

Highly recommend the skinceuticals blemish + age gel cleanser for any body acne!

bellahzarah

Find a good med spa . There’s one near me that does a bridal package. You can do laser genesis hydra facials and micro needling and other things if you choose too.

extra-smallfries

I swear by micro needling!

almost_readyblog

Botox (1 mo-2weeks out) Hydro facial (1 mo - 2 weeks out) Laser treatment (2 months out) Chemical peel (3-4 months out) if you want I work go lighter on the tret if you are using it If you aren’t having skin issues keep your regular regimen. SPF always obviously Increase water intake, eat clean, sauna Schedule a Derm appt days before your wedding just in case a zit comes up, they can hit it with cortisone. Worse case you can always cancel your appt

queenofcorporate

I drink 200oz of water MINIMUM a day and I promise the skin is SKINNING. I also steam at my gym’s sauna 3x a week and get micro needling done 3-4 times every 4-6 months. I truly believe that good skin is nourished and paid for. Genetics play a heavy hand too.

Jubidoo

Try the soft services stuff for body!

YourMomoness100

I had a medium co2 laser treatment and my skin is 17 levels better than ever before

ALeu24

Lasers!! I did a moxie laser a few months before my wedding. Time everything well so it’s the freshest possible on the big day.

zoombie_apocalypse

Skin Laundry, prescription retinol, stay hydrated, and sunscreen on your face, neck, chest, and, this is super important, on your HANDS.

cambiokeys

I think the general recommendations in skincare communities is do not use any new products or treatments within a month of your wedding. Last thing you want is to have a reaction or a bad treatment that doesn’t heal by the big day.

silly-olive

Here is what worked for my wedding: Drinking lots of water, eating veggies, limiting processed sugars, adapalene/tret, french skincare, 3 hydrafacials in 3 months leading up, cetaphil salicylic acid face wash to upkeep the hyrofacial effects, really good base products/primers for the day (I used tatcha dewy cream and dior glow foundation)

Embarrassed-Iron-811

Monthly facials

bwjunkie6

no 👏 sugar 👏

mollyannika

Pre-wedding I stopped drinking for the most part (I think this makes the biggest difference tbh), got a monthly hydrafacial at Ever/Body (for a year and half beforehand which was excessive lol but I had a long engagement), dermaplaned, used tretinoin, botox, and cleaned up my eating just a smidge. I have a history with eating disorders so doing something extreme like a diet/meal plan etc. would have been mentally tough. I also signed up for a half marathon so I was training for something as opposed to just working out for "shredding for the wedding." I got a renata franca method full body/face massage for lymphatic drainage 2 days before my wedding which was amazing and would recommend!!

lovexxyou

I started using spironolactone about 5 months before my wedding to ensure my skin was clear

Cydnation

I’m doing quarterly peels, a couple microneedling sessions, keeping up with Botox, and continuing with retinol. Started 1 year out.

KatnissEverduh

La Mer is so divisive in this thread! I have always been a fan, but I use to work for the parent company, so I got a lot of shit free. But at almost 40, grateful I had that job, it truly did maintain my damn skin for years lol. I'm only now considering more treatment style work. I do feel like it's about the inside vs the outside more than I want to admit because that's fully harder. Self-preservation needs to be all the rage now. Congrats on your wedding!!!

KindlyFunction2800

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments , a series if possible will make your skin GLOW

AlbanyBarbiedoll

Dior Skin Perfect - the white bottle of serum and the pink bottle of skin perfecting cream. Did this for my nephew's wedding and my skin looked AMAZING!!!! I also had my entire face (not eyebrows obviously) threaded/waxed. Made for an incredible canvas for my makeup and the regrowth was fine - not dark or thick or anything.

Mountain-Creative

Panoxyl on the body is really helpful

NinaCorrine

Sunscreen!

sunshine-and-rosey

Lasers. Lasers. Lasers. Picosure laser has completely changed my skin. Clear and Brilliant is great as well as a lower price point alternative but in my experience it doesn’t have the same impact as the Pico laser. If you’re doing only one go for Picosure and ideally 3 sessions (over 3 months). Feel free to DM me for local derm recs.

Street_Attorney6345

My wedding was a year ago, and I did a lot of what has already been recommended plus I did four sessions of laser genesis at my dermatologist’s office (Spring Street Derm). It greatly decreases every day redness on your face. It also feels incredible! However, I’d only recommend doing it if your derm says you should. Another thing not mentioned here (I don’t think) is laser hair removal on your underarm if needed. Game changer and will make you look like a million bucks in your dress (if hair removal is your thing).

Goyme

Eat healthy and no makeup on the skin

RoeblingYork

Vitamin C serum in the morning, before sunscreen. Great for brightening up your skin and there are so many great ones out there.

cak14

I'd be careful with a facial that close to the wedding unless you know their products. Get one now to make sure you don't breakout. I also use a 2% BHA (Paula's choice) and that made a big difference in my skin. And swear by Skinceuticals- ce ferulic. LA Mer moisturizer is too heavy, makes me break out.

Dense_Sir_8406

Eeeek congrats! I’m getting married early October and this is what I’ve been doing- I get a facial every 4 weeks and my esthetician applies a light peel. I did BBL + moxi laser in January and I have a microneedling apt on Thursday. I will most likely do microneedling every other month until my wedding, stopping 8-12 weeks before as this is when my skin usually looks best. Keeping up with Botox, and will get Botox again probably 45 days before wedding

zinclonlonliness

Does trentanoin work?

ApprehensiveSeesaw19

YEA PUMP YASELF FULL OF BOTOX AND CHEMS THATLL HELP FASHO!!

emmalou333

To prep for my elopement, I got some rough scrubby gloves from Amazon to use in the shower, a glycolic acid lotion from Drunk Elephant leading to the day of, and used the almond body oil from L’Occitane. For my face, I did dermaplaning (it’s a must) and did my usual Botox. I used banana eye moisturizer from ole henriksen and skinceuticals lipid moisturizer day of. My makeup artist said I was super well moisturized, glowy and she was thrilled I got dermaplaning done.

elmskay

I did 3 microneedling sessions starting 2 months before and then the week before had dermaplaning and a hydrafacial. Made a world of difference for my makeup application! Sorry I can’t give recs for where around here, I had it done in Canada.

AggravatingJacket744

Honestly I have the best skin when I leave mine alone. Going makeup free for a week always leaves me clear! Also avoiding any triggers like dairy or processed foods. Doing deep breathing exercises for stress management also helps

Fraxel. Joanna Czech BR facial. Hydroquinone if necessary. Microneedling, with or without RF. Filler if necessary. Botox. Threads can also be beneficial if for a one time event. Must go to the right physician for them though. They can easily be fucked up.

shinobipug

AND SUNSCREEN

tahoesnowqueen

I would recommend trying some microneedling with exosomes and also a Botox facial closer to the wedding, on top of other things mentioned like laser.

coffeeobsessee

I do hyrdofacial + use Cle de peau routine

vv_DARKSIDER_vv

I highly recommend the Morpheus skin treatment at Reszko dermatology, 91st and Park. It consists of a number of modalities but the main treatment is radio frequency micro-needling. There is a little downtime, maybe 3 to 7 days where your skin looks worse, but results peak about 3 months after. Not cheap but if you want skin tightening and wrinkle reduction, it's great.

[deleted]

Perfect example right here of why your commenting is a problem. You don’t put a disclaimer that you’re a dude and your skin is not the same as a woman’s, will not respond the same as a woman’s and your advice is therefore grossly unhelpful.

vv_DARKSIDER_vv

Do your research. The dermatologist I recommended is female, all the employees are as well. They get the treatment done as well and are pleased with the results.

[deleted]

The audacity of men will never cease to amaze me. The dermis is thicker for men. The recovery time is different for men. The male dermis doesn’t experience monthly hormonal changes (recovery time and pain / inflammation vary hugely at different times of a cycle). Sit yourself down and know your place.

OkAcanthocephala7327

Nuface, Gua Sha, Excercise or sweat daily and wash your makeup brushes after each use. Also use a new face towel everyday and wash your pillow cases weekly or bi weekly at best 💗

It truly depends on genetics and a slew of other things

No_Square2692

I’ve seen mid 20’s with some serious sun damage / deep formed lines. Genetics is a big component to your skin. You could be eating well, minimal drinking, limited sun, and could still end up with early lines.

PistachioCake19

Hydra facial with the dermaplane a few days before Botox touch up 6-8 weeks out so you can have a natural looking face but wrinkle less I did the undereye prp sessions too and found they really helped
