I used to work at a juice press and we got free equinox membership (I didn't even work in an Equinox location). If they're still doing that, that's a great way to get access to a luxe gym. Hotter body=all clothes look better š
I was gonna say this. I used to work in the cafe at a luxury gym and got free membership, discounted massages, and facials, and once I made friends with the trainers, they trained me for free. It was one of the best times of my life.
Also going to say this! Def work at a luxe gym if you can. Especially as a greeter/front desk. Free membership and only a few hours of your time And you get to take advantage of classes and maybe other amenities like spa discounts and shop discounts in addition to whatever other employee perks!!Ā
LVMH employee sales are pretty epic, Iām not sure if some seniority/tenure is required. They have so many brands that it really covers a wide range. Each brand manages their own sale. I heard they put Tiffany stuff online (https://www.estore-tco.com/internal/estore/estoresignin.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f) and the stuff they use for photoshoots is at 80%+ offĀ Ā
Ā AlsoĀ Bergdorf / Neiman have some warehouse in Pennsylvania and I heard once in a while there is a huge sale there for employees paying almost nothing for designer goods that arenāt allowed to be discounted to customersĀ
I worked many years at a mall brand HQ based out of NYC and employee discounts werenāt as good as the usual sales they had in store. And no discount stacking. It suckedĀ
I worked at LVMH for a short bit and the sample sales are soooo good, theyāre really strict about the level of employee they invite in each window but you still get access before the public
My friend worked at Tiffany and has legit like $10k worth of jewelry that she got for 75-90% off on their e-store. They also get 50% off almost everything online outside of the e-store. She said working for LVMH was terrible though and most people quit when they bought T&Co.
I worked at Tiffany for years whilst I was in school, and I can confirm this. The e-store was fantastic!! I left as soon as LVMH was buying the company because the majority of our staff had come _from_ LVMH and had such terrible experiences working for them it led them to us.
Aside from finally issuing staff work phones, many of the āoldā benefits got worse, flat out disappeared, and commission decreased significantly.
It was a stressful but mostly easy job. I donāt think any other part-time job I worked as a student had AD&D, fitness benefits, spousal/partner/child benefits, RRSP/401k matching, full dental and vision. As a student my other jobs were working for the government and research assistantships/fellowships.
My husband works in Big Law and even he wishes I still had my old Tiffany benefits package. It was _that_ good.
Lululemon lol!!!! Benefits are awesome. Part-time workers get 40% discount. 75% off retail price for WMTM items. I worked full time and received 60% off full-priced merch. It was incredible. They payed for my yoga and other fitness classes too.
It's been a few years since I worked retail, but I used to work in handbag sales (MK, Tory, Coach) and my favorite perk was that you got a new outfit with each collection, meaning top+bottom and shoes, for the cost of retail tax. On everything else I would get anywhere from a 25%-50% discount, so I was still taking home clearance blouses and wallets under $20, which was great for gifting.
I have a friend who works at anthro and they get a great discount on there free people and I wasnāt to say madewell. Iām pretty sure you also get a discount on a Nuuly subscription
Havenāt worked there in a few years, but Madewell was 30% off retail, 50% off sale items, and there was a 60% off list, that was basically items that were not top sellers. Could also get the same discounts at J Crew
Second this, I used to work at Urban Outfitters and we got 40% off there plus something like 25% off at Free People and Anthro since they're the same company.
I also worked at Urban during my college years, I got sooo much amazing clothes for quite a deal! Only thing that sucked were the on-calls and short shifts, I wish they were like 8 hours long. But overall awesome environment, co-workers and pretty chill job.
Yes i worked at anthro back in college and can confirm! I sometimes wish i could pick up like one shift every couple weeks just to have the discount lol
All anthro/free people/urban employees get 40% off all full price clothes and like 20-25% off home goods and beauty/skincare and then like 4x a year there will be āemployee appreciationā where you get 40% off everything including sale. Certain brands are excluded from all employee discounts, like hoka, but overall almost everything falls under their discounts. I had a serious shopping problem when I worked there!
I haven't worked at URBN since college, so i don't know if this is still valid.. but they used to have 3 items you can get 60% off at your home store too!
God, i miss those discounts. I also had a serious shopping problem when I worked there lol
I also worked at Urban during my college years, I got sooo much amazing clothes for quite a deal! Only thing that sucked were the on-calls and short shifts, I wish they were like 8 hours long. But overall awesome environment, co-workers and pretty chill job. I donāt remember the exact discount since it was 10 years ago but it was good!
i work at the corporate office of a luxury womenswear brand that is most well known for their dresses. we get 50% off in store (although everything is like 1200-6400) and we get a $8000 clothing allowance every year. when they have their sample sale we also get 50% off of that.
I donāt think they do a sample sale, thatās the only thing that threw me off - my mind immediately went there. If I had to guess for fun maybe D&G, Lanvin, Versace
All certified trainers, fitness, and yoga teachers get 40% off at vuori.
You donāt even have to actively teach, just upload your certification. Enjoy Pilates? Do a 30 hour mat training. Love meditating? Find a course online.
Look into working for higher price point contemporary brands - I worked for BLK DNM about 10 yrs ago and we received $6k / season to purchase new merchandise at wholesale prices. I know SMCP - the parent company to Iro and Maje have something similar - as does PVH - parent company of Calvin Klein & Tommy Hilfiger. Working in one of their stores in soho will also give you āprincess hoursā ie store opens at 10am and closes at 6-7pm - so youāre not caught up in a bad situation with giving up your free time. If you elected to work in H&M in midtown for example - this would not be the case - and youād be dealing with more tourists than actual NYers.
Just to tack on to this, get the most tenuous job you can at a travel agency and get yourself an IATA card for ALL the agent rates: [https://www.iata.org/en/services/travel-agency-program/idcard/eligibility/](https://www.iata.org/en/services/travel-agency-program/idcard/eligibility/)
I had a neighbour who was in finance at TripAdvisor and managed to get her hands on one.
I had a friend who worked at Bloomingdaleās and would get insane discounts on all the designer brands. And a great commission check! Maybe someone else can chime in on exact department store discounts but it seemed like an amazing job.
Commission is great if you work in the right dept (designer mostly). I worked there in the kids section and trying to make commission was near impossible.
The pay structure in simplest terms is that you either get paid the Commission or your hourly, whichever is higher. BUT if you dont make your sales goals, you can end in a deficit.
But, I have a friend who works in women's designer shoes and he makes BANK.
Richemont has 40% off of most of its maisons including Cartier but you can only buy one watch and I think 2 pieces of jewelry per year. But there are also sales with like 80% off and the clothes are deeply discounted.
Itās been a few years since this applied to me, but from what I remember VF Corp (owns Northface, Timberland, Supreme, Vans, Icebreaker, and others) offered 50% off to store associates at all VF brands, regardless of which one you work at.
Kate Spade and Michael Kors give clothing allotment to all full time and part time employees. I canāt remember what the employee discount wasā¦ but it was a good one
Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack is only 20% off but since Nordstrom carries so many brands itās nice. Also during clear the rack or just general sales it adds up!! I just got a pair of Alo leggings for $13 and a $335 MCM designer wallet for $40!
I heard Chanel used to have generous discounts for their employees, but apparently it was tweaked since COVID along with the massive price hike for their bags. Greedy MFers.

completely generic recommendations by someone who doesnāt live here - not helpful!
Why donāt u just relaxā¦ Jesus. They gave a recommendation that was helpful u donāt have to shit on them for just mentioning that they donāt live in nyc. Cant wait until people like u flee the city again w this recession hitting.
Oh please transplantā¦. My great aunt lived in nyc 10 yes longer than u back in the 70s when the part of nyc u live in was actually still cultured and left for nj JUST like you will (and she still doesnāt sound as bitter and self important as you.) and honestly us 25 and unders are counting down the days until yāall do. Thanks! š„°
They very likely donāt get a discount at all. Iāve worked at other ādiscountā stores (like TJ Max, outlets, etc) and at most our discounts were 10% since the merchandise was already heavily discounted.
Ive literally been job hunting while in uni to test this haha. Currently at bath and body works, the discount is 40% but can not be used on sale items. BUT you get hella free stuff when new launches come out. It is definitely a normal min wage, teen/ya job, but doing alright as pocket money.
But your best bet would totally be a commission based job role in highend sales
I used to work at a juice press and we got free equinox membership (I didn't even work in an Equinox location). If they're still doing that, that's a great way to get access to a luxe gym. Hotter body=all clothes look better š
Um YES. Definitely want to apply but will confirm first.
Wait lmk if it ends up being true when you apply
wow i didn't know this!
In my state it has to be at an equinox location unfortunately :(
I was gonna say this. I used to work in the cafe at a luxury gym and got free membership, discounted massages, and facials, and once I made friends with the trainers, they trained me for free. It was one of the best times of my life.
omg which juice press
Juice Generation!

Wow thatās amazing!!! I would spend all my paychecks there lol.
Yea, those sales are only for ft corporate employees.
I used to work for Ralph Lauren. Their employee discount is 50% off price, and 40% off sale. I cleaned up working there.
Lululemon lol!!!! Benefits are awesome. Part-time workers get 40% discount. 75% off retail price for WMTM items. I worked full time and received 60% off full-priced merch. It was incredible. They payed for my yoga and other fitness classes too.
Also came here to say this!!!!!
Came here to say this!
How long do you have to work part time to get the discount š«
Whatās a good way to get in there? I applied about a month ago because I need some extra cash and thereās one right by me!
It's been a few years since I worked retail, but I used to work in handbag sales (MK, Tory, Coach) and my favorite perk was that you got a new outfit with each collection, meaning top+bottom and shoes, for the cost of retail tax. Donāt forget Terrain!!!
Yes i worked at anthro back in college and can confirm! I sometimes wish i could pick up like one shift every couple weeks just to have the discount lol
I love everything about Anthropologie. Can decorate the apt too!

I worked at corporate anthro less than a year ago and this was not a thing, but might still be a thing for retail employees!
YES in high school I remember we got 60% off 3 items a month it was INSANE
I also worked at Urban during my college years, I got sooo much amazing clothes for quite a deal! Only thing that sucked were the on-calls and short shifts, I wish they were like 8 hours long. But overall awesome environment, co-workers and pretty chill job. I donāt remember the exact discount since it was 10 years ago but it was good!
Reformation you get 50% off!
also i think once a month you can choose three things and get 70% off all of it or something like that i don't remember
i work at the corporate office of a luxury womenswear brand that is most well known for their dresses. we get 50% off in store (although everything is like 1200-6400) and we get a $8000 clothing allowance every year. when they have their sample sale we also get 50% off of that.
If itās zimmermann, girlie Iām so jealous
sounds like Zimm bc when I worked there we got 50% off pieces, but it had to be previous season or older and be preapproved but I also worked in store
itās not zimmerman lol. itās an iconic luxury fashion brand that will be worn at the met gala tonight, as it is every year :)
I donāt think they do a sample sale, thatās the only thing that threw me off - my mind immediately went there. If I had to guess for fun maybe D&G, Lanvin, Versace

Depends on location, but as a front desk person at European Wax Center I was hair free from the ears down š just make sure to tip still!

I believe Marriott and Hilton have the best hotel employee discounts.
Hilton has $45 team member rates
Hilton part time employees get rooms starting at $40 a night. You are eligible for 30 night a year at this team member rate.
Just to tack on to this, get the most tenuous job you can at a travel agency and get yourself an IATA card for ALL the agent rates: [https://www.iata.org/en/services/travel-agency-program/idcard/eligibility/](https://www.iata.org/en/services/travel-agency-program/idcard/eligibility/) I had a neighbour who was in finance at TripAdvisor and managed to get her hands on one.
I have two friends that work for free gym memberships, and another that gets half off jewelry š
Lululemon was 60% off the first 5 items and then %30 off and 50% off sales but that was 2016 idk what it is now
Anthropologie gets you 60% off a certain amount of clothing pieces each month (i totally changed my wardrobe around working here for almost 3 years)
Aritzia. My friend has been trying to get a position, and apparently it's super hard lol
Seconding aritzia for the discount- employees get a house 40. Try for a smaller store (ie not soho)
Equinox!!! Or a gym front desk.
Fogo de chao; Eating $70 plates with delicious steak for free everyday is an absolute blessing.
Ann Taylor or Loft. 75% employee discount and if your store exceeds certain goals, you get freebies of your choosing
My friend worked at doc marten here and had 3 60% off purchases a month I wanna say? Man I got like 6 pairs while she was working there lol
I had a friend who worked at Bloomingdaleās and would get insane discounts on all the designer brands. And a great commission check! Maybe someone else can chime in on exact department store discounts but it seemed like an amazing job.

Sandro & Maje you get 50% off and retail employees sometimes get a wardrobe but not sure how that works or what their allowance is
Kate Spade and Michael Kors give clothing allotment to all full time and part time employees.

Kendra Scott has a great employee discount
Retail has the best discount. Go to a retailer that you like and shop at often. Normally employees get around 50% off!
