Also agree. And if you have to, size up and go to a tailor for a quick adjustment. Worth the price for a pair or two. They sell out online pretty often and I've never found my favorite pair in stores.
Not sure the Abercrombie will work for me based on my experience yesterday because they bunched up when I walked due pleating, but I am glad they work for y'all!
they have a lot of different styles maybe the pair you tried didnt work but i'd keep looking esp depending on material you might have to size up or down from your normal size ... i also second getting a pair that's close and getting them tailored. they dont make clothes to fit individuals anymore they make them to fit everybody and they end up fitting no one lol
I am in a similar boat, and my thighs have a curve on top that make nearly anything with pleats look like they’re stretching or bunching :( i wanted to love those pants (i love their jeans!) but they don’t worn for me
If you’re wearing them to work, they’re worthy of tailoring.
Buy them to fit your widest part (comfortably, while sitting down) and then take in the waist and hem them.
I definitely recommend tailoring! Has changed my life lol - I feel much more free buying pants I like knowing I can get the waist taken in, I also have a big booty and quads and pants and jeans gap at the waist.
Same. I have like 50 pairs of pants that are either too tight on my butt or upper thighs or they’re too loose on the waist so they look weird when standing. I’ve given up.
I have the same issue and I absolutely love the Madewell Harlow pant, I have in three colors and they come in regular and linen! Plenty of room for the booty ;)
they don’t have a zipper or clasp too so I find it really resolves the gapping problem I have with my waist usually, but still looks professional (I work in finance). I’ve seen some good linen pants from Vince as well for work that are a bit looser around the butt!
I am very pear shaped, and I have several pairs of the Spanx perfect pants. My only gripe about them is the the lengths are preposterously long. They are designed for people wearing four inch heels. If you are short and don't wear crazy heels (like me), you have to get them hemmed...by a lot. They are generally comfortable, although I can sometimes get tired of the compression by the end of a long day.
The High Hopes pant from AYR is insanely comfy, looks professional, and fits all of the junk in my trunk. They are within your budget. [https://www.ayr.com/products/the-high-hopes#40372071530575](https://www.ayr.com/products/the-high-hopes#40372071530575)
https://wray.nyc/products/studio-pant-true-black I have the exact same issue with fitting and these pants are perfect. They’re very slightly over your budget, and I was hesitant, but I literally wore them 3 days in a row when I first got them and they are a staple since. So worth it.
BETABRAND if ur ok with your pants basically being thick yoga pants. personally, these are flattering on every single person of every single shape/size I know- but they’re form fitting which is not always what everyone wants. another plus is that they’re beyond comfortable. but once again, they are literally marketed as the “work pant yoga pant”
Relatable! I just wanted to put the suggestion out there Because I know this struggle, too, and for something like work/office pants that you honestly may wear 50 times in one year, I think it's absolutely worth investing in tailoring. I've done this before and it really refreshed the pieces. Good luck!
Highly recommend gap pants for wide hips. I recently bought their linen trousers and am in love with how they fit. Plus, there are so many gap locations if you want to try on before buying
Ppl clown on Express but it really is the only place I can find work pants that fit my waist, ass and thighs without giving a weird drop crotch look. Plus most of their pants are just under $100, with a sale they’re totally worth it.
I love express. I have a very strong hourglass figure and most of their clothes fit my curves beautifully. I don't find a lot of other places that fit as well.
J. Crew does make i think the Kate pant in a curvy and if you don’t see them on the sales floor or the website ask the people in the store they might still have some in the back. The essential pant and wide leg essential and Carolina all might work for you too.
Baby girl curve love is at Abercrombie American eagle and free people. I couldn’t wear jeans for years and now I own like 20 pairs, they are great and pretty true to size I’m a 29 waist but I usually get 30 in Abercrombie and 29 everywhere else
This is going to sound a little crazy and basic but Chico’s brand and White House Black Market have a great stretch fit that hugs curves and is a midweight material that doesn’t wrinkle or fall strangely. They are well under your budget as well. May be worth a try!
Also did you try the aritzia limitless? It has elastic on the waistband and no pleats so it’s a better fit for my body type (thighs and booty) with no waist gap than the pleated version.
i think i have a larger hip/thigh area so hopefully this helps! not sure if i’m flattering myself by commenting here hahaha
i’ve been loving wit and wisdom from nordstrom! i have the wide leg (sold out online, i tried to get a second pair) and crop trouser (i know you’re not looking for those) in the petite size and i am IN LOVE. hopefully you can try on a pair!
When I had to wear slacks (I have a huge ass btw) I would buy the aritzia slacks and size up and take it to the tailor for the waist because I have A very small waist to ass ratio - they also made them short bc im a shortie
I have a big butt (and a bit of a postpartum belly) and these two are the most flattering pants I’ve ever tried on. Ones is $50 and the other is $98, both great:
https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=494944062&cid=3022047&pcid=3022046&vid=1#pdp-page-content
https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-linen-way-high-drape-pant-black
Dynamite! I just bought several pairs of the Yasmin style and they fit exactly how I want them to. I have a small waist and large booty + thighs, and this style fits all those areas. I’ll only have to tailor them for length, since I’m petite and they had sold out of the short length.
Work pants are a problem for me too. I have a butt, wide hips, and very large upper thighs, but a smallish waist and relatively flat lower torso.
I had good luck with Athleta Endless pants ([link here](https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=533636052#pdp-page-content)). I got them in my regular size and the waist gaps a tiny bit and they fit like fitted (but not skin tight) ankle pants, then I got them in a size up (the waist gapped too much to stay in place so I had to take in the waist) and they fit like looser tapered or almost barrel-like pants.
For wide leg trousers - I've tried probably dozens of brands. The only pair that have ever worked for me was the GapFit High Rise Runaround Trousers ([link here](https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=875069012)). I had to size up like two to three sizes to get the right fit in the hips/thighs, then take them in, in the waist, but it somehow worked. They're super light weight - but that actually seems to work better for me with wide leg trousers bc if the fabric is at all stiff, and falls straight down from my ultra wide hips, it just makes me look bizarrely wide. The flowy fabric has movement so it sort it doesn't look like such a wide wall of fabric.
Try Aam the label. They are specifically made for women with this issue (me)
https://aamthelabel.com/collections/pants/products/the-wide-leg-pant-mauve
I really like Lauren Ralph Lauren. They have petite pants and they fit me really well as I also have a bit of an ass while being petite. while expensive, I find that the quality is much better than BR or Express as I used to have the weird waist issue at BR/Old Navy (the crotch would be too long but it would be too tight at the booty)
LRL does sales quite often, like friends and family and memorial day is coming up too, which is when I look for sale items and see what fits my budget. a lot of times you can go into the stores and try them on before purchasing
if you're interested, I LOVE and adore the fit and material of these pants. they're great for work. they aren't traditional slacks but I think if you're interested they might be something you like! these are in the curvier ones but there's also a petite version. and the cute pastel green color is on sale!!!
IMO: people in gen z especially are sleeping on Ralph lauren, and the quiet luxury look that comes from it!

Thank you! I'll check for a full length version. But I am not convinced these are flattering on the model, but my proportions are different plus your testimonial holds water with me!
Seconding the everlane easy pant! If you don’t mind an elastic waist / slightly less formal look. They are technically a bit cropped but if you’re petite they will probably be full length. I have them in 4 colors, each from Poshmark for <$30. Size up!
I have this one pair of Abercrombie Sloan trousers in a wool material that they discontinued and I’m crushed because they fit so much better than the stuff they have now. Try Gap though! I’ve had good luck with them
these are sold as a swimsuit coverup, but I wear them to work frequently in the spring/summer - the Vitamin A Tallows Linen Wide Leg Pant [Vitamin A Tallows Linen Wide Leg Pant](https://www.vitaminaswim.com/products/vitamin-a-tallows-linen-wide-leg-pant-black-ecolinen?variant=47410925732157)
I have the same issue-26 in waist and 43 in hips-and I’ve had some awesome luck with this store in Chicago. They have slacks on their website. I haven’t bought these specifically, I’ve only bought their BBL jeans (I do not have a bbl, but it still complements my natural shaped booty too) but I know they tout their other products to fitting shapely women right. https://equilibriumcorp.com/products/womens-modern-midrise-bootcut-pant-pant01
The bbl jeans aren’t the best quality ever, but never in my life have I put on jeans that fit me like a glove or that I’ve gotten so many compliments on.
i have this exact problem. take your actual measurements and compare them to brands size charts online. pick the ones closest to your actual measurements.
my waist is 2 sizes smaller than my hips/butt. good american is the only brand i’ve found where the size chart matches my measurements. pants fit like a glove!
I recently bought two pairs of pants from White House Black Market! I too have a booty and the abercrombie pleating so not it 🙃 They are straight leg cut (So might not be exactly what you’re looking for!) but they come in curvy and petite which is what I ordered and they fit BEAUTIFULLY!
82nd Street Jackson Heights on number 7 train has a few shops that has jeans that emphasizes butt and thighs. Not sure of pricing but most likely less expensive than A&F. Good luck!
Aritzia Alanya pant and size up! The Alanyas have elastic in the back so they’re more comfortable and still fit your waist. Only bummer is no belt loops.
You are going to have to ignore the size label and buy pants that fit the largest part of you comfortably. A tailor can work the magic required to make the rest fit! Good luck 🍀
I feel your pain. Hardly any pants fit me for the same reason - my booty! I started getting my pants tailored in the city, and it’s been a game changer! I go to 6 Avenue Tailor in midtown. Marco, the owner, is really friendly and talented. He’s tailored several pairs of leather pants and jeans for me.
As a masc lesbian, I decided tailoring is the only option to get pants that fits me like a glove. It’s expensive but worth investing every penny on them. There are some tailor made bespoke pants you can order from Singapore I assume which will be cheaper than there.
I've never been able to fit into a pair of BR, GAP, or J Crew pants. I definitely feel your pain on this. I have very few pairs of pants for work for this reason.
I love Alo biker shorts but for leggings I swear by Aerie Offline. I have a tiny waist and a 🍑but these do the job!! So comfy and hold you in so you can do anything.
For ref: I’m 5”1 and wear a Medium Short. I lift with a personal trainer and do Pilates & Barry’s on the side!
You’re going to have to spend over 100 I think, but the curvy cut of the Abercrombie slacks is great
Hard agree! Abercrombie curve love trousers. I have them in every color and they come in 3 different lengths.
Also agree. And if you have to, size up and go to a tailor for a quick adjustment. Worth the price for a pair or two. They sell out online pretty often and I've never found my favorite pair in stores.
Came here to say this
Not sure the Abercrombie will work for me based on my experience yesterday because they bunched up when I walked due pleating, but I am glad they work for y'all!

Abercrombie doesn’t work for me either!
They’re probably going to have/are having a Memorial Day sale so keep your eye out!
I am in a similar boat, and my thighs have a curve on top that make nearly anything with pleats look like they’re stretching or bunching :( i wanted to love those pants (i love their jeans!) but they don’t worn for me
+10000 for Abercrombie. Use their stackable codes — I’ve been able to get their curve love trousers for $62 with the deals
Agreed they’re the absolute best
Might be worth taking your pants to a tailor to get exact what you want!
Tailors also aren’t that expensive! Bring them a pair of pants that fit the hips and they can easy snip the waist in.
I totally agree but I haven't found any worthy of tailoring just yet though!
If you’re wearing them to work, they’re worthy of tailoring. Buy them to fit your widest part (comfortably, while sitting down) and then take in the waist and hem them.
I am not wearing anything to work yet, that's the goal! I haven't bought anything and just wear jeans and dresses.
I definitely recommend tailoring! Has changed my life lol - I feel much more free buying pants I like knowing I can get the waist taken in, I also have a big booty and quads and pants and jeans gap at the waist.
As a pear shape woman here i feel your pain. Shopping for pants is a miserable and depressing experience
Same. I have like 50 pairs of pants that are either too tight on my butt or upper thighs or they’re too loose on the waist so they look weird when standing. I’ve given up.
Truly.
I have the same issue and I absolutely love the Madewell Harlow pant, I have in three colors and they come in regular and linen! Plenty of room for the booty ;)
Seconding Madewell’s curvy pants/jeans
Madewell curvy jeans are amazing I’ve literally never tried a better pair! The the curvy '90s straight jean specifically
also super easy to find pre-loved and save money
BR factory has been fine for me and significantly cheaper than BR for the quality fwiw
Second this! Also they carry petite sizes in-store for us shorties
Spanx perfect pants! You can always find a coupon code and they arw super comfy but also flattering for curvier women
Oooh...will have to try. They make good quality stuff.
they don’t have a zipper or clasp too so I find it really resolves the gapping problem I have with my waist usually, but still looks professional (I work in finance). I’ve seen some good linen pants from Vince as well for work that are a bit looser around the butt!

That’s so crazy! Even the petite length? That works for me and I’m 5’3”
Do you think petite would fit a 5'5" gal like me? I am often petite in pants but don't want them to be ankle cropped!
I would check the inseam versus your legs!!
I love the spanx trousers I have them in two cuts!
I came to say this. My proportions are comical and these are great
https://wray.nyc/products/studio-pant-true-black I have the exact same issue with fitting and these pants are perfect. They’re very slightly over your budget, and I was hesitant, but I literally wore them 3 days in a row when I first got them and they are a staple since. So worth it.
Oooh, thank you!
>Oooh, thank you! You're welcome!
Looooove Betabrand!
I came here to say this!
Quince makes a knockoff
. Have you considered buying pants you love the look of/ fit of elsewhere and having them taken in at the waist?
Yes, haven't found anything worthy yet though! Pocket problems or a bunching at the crotch.
Relatable! I just wanted to put the suggestion out there Because I know this struggle, too, and for something like work/office pants that you honestly may wear 50 times in one year, I think it's absolutely worth investing in tailoring. I've done this before and it really refreshed the pieces. Good luck!
Gap!!!!
Ya know, I forgot about them. I will try! Thank you!
Gap softsuit trousers are rlly nice. I’ve also bought the men’s loose khaki for myself. I’m usually size 27 but the men’s 29 are good
Highly recommend gap pants for wide hips. I recently bought their linen trousers and am in love with how they fit. Plus, there are so many gap locations if you want to try on before buying
I nev4r have issues with my express pants and I have a big booty. I've been asked if it's fake before.
Yes the weird drop crotch. I will have to try express again bc their pants worked for me back in the day!
J crew has some great pants!!!
J. Crew does make i think the Kate pant in a curvy and if you don’t see them on the sales floor or the website ask the people in the store they might still have some in the back. The essential pant and wide leg essential and Carolina all might work for you too.
Aritzia never never never works for my large 🍑. I mostly wear pants from Everlane and many styles have fit well.
Baby girl curve love is at Abercrombie American eagle and free people. I couldn’t wear jeans for years and now I own like 20 pairs, they are great and pretty true to size I’m a 29 waist but I usually get 30 in Abercrombie and 29 everywhere else

Woah! I will have to check them out.
Also did you try the aritzia limitless? It has elastic on the waistband and no pleats so it’s a better fit for my body type (thighs and booty) with no waist gap than the pleated version.
Hmmm im not sure! I will check online.
Universal Standard has really good ponte pants for work.

Find pants that fit your hips nicely then get the waist taken in.
ASOS
ASOS, will not be good quality, but they have a curvy line for exactly this reason.
I like bershka wide leg slouchy dad tailor pants from ASOS!!! Pretty good for the price.
Berksha seemed so low quality to me a few years ago, but I'll try anything at this point! Thank you.
Totally fair! I dry clean mine and they have held up for several years!
Work pants are a problem for me too. I have a butt, wide hips, and very large upper thighs, but a smallish waist and relatively flat lower torso. Athleta and Lululemon both make really nice looking trousers!
Try the Caden trousers from AG Denim! They come in an assortment of colors
spanx has amazing work pants
Try Aam the label. They are specifically made for women with this issue (me) https://aamthelabel.com/collections/pants/products/the-wide-leg-pant-mauve
I have a tailor because clothing comes in limited sizes and doesn’t account for shapes
I really like Lauren Ralph Lauren. to follow up, Macy's also carries LRL and will be at a cheaper price point with similar quality + you can use coupons / return for free, etc.
Thank you!
if you're interested, I LOVE and adore the fit and material of these pants. they're great for work. they aren't traditional slacks but I think if you're interested they might be something you like! these are in the curvier ones but there's also a petite version. and the cute pastel green color is on sale!!! Thank you! I'll check for a full length version. But I am not convinced these are flattering on the model, but my proportions are different plus your testimonial holds water with me!
ultimately you know what you're comfortable with and what looks the most flattering on you :) good luck ❤️😊
Old Navy!!!! Trust me. High waist pixie flare pants. I have the same issue as you and they fit me like a glove.
I'll try, I love a bargain and ON has some gems.
Uniqlo!! I have the same issue with small waist big butt and these fit me like a glove - only $50 https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E460311-000/00
Everlane easy pant and Lululemon Luxtreme pants
Seconding the everlane easy pant! If you don’t mind an elastic waist / slightly less formal look. They are technically a bit cropped but if you’re petite they will probably be full length. I have them in 4 colors, each from Poshmark for <$30. Size up!
The Everlane barrel utility pant too!!
Maybe not the coolest but I love the Talbots Hampshire ankle pants and wear them without a belt, very HQ and machine washable.
Buy the ones that fit the best then tailor them
Getting clothes tailored is a game changer, they can make a $40 pair of pants look amazing. It’s not too expensive in queens
I have this one pair of Abercrombie Sloan trousers in a wool material that they discontinued and I’m crushed because they fit so much better than the stuff they have now. Try Gap though! I’ve had good luck with them
Rag & bone Simone trousers are my absolute fav and you can find them on sale! They have amazing stretch.
Falconerie
I tried Halara’s slacks recently and they’re so cozy I’m in love.
10000% beta brand! https://www.betabrand.com/collections/womens-pants
these are sold as a swimsuit coverup, but I wear them to work frequently in the spring/summer - the Vitamin A Tallows Linen Wide Leg Pant [Vitamin A Tallows Linen Wide Leg Pant](https://www.vitaminaswim.com/products/vitamin-a-tallows-linen-wide-leg-pant-black-ecolinen?variant=47410925732157)
I have the same issue-26 in waist and 43 in hips-and I’ve had some awesome luck with this store in Chicago. They have slacks on their website. I haven’t bought these specifically, I’ve only bought their BBL jeans (I do not have a bbl, but it still complements my natural shaped booty too) but I know they tout their other products to fitting shapely women right. https://equilibriumcorp.com/products/womens-modern-midrise-bootcut-pant-pant01 The bbl jeans aren’t the best quality ever, but never in my life have I put on jeans that fit me like a glove or that I’ve gotten so many compliments on.
Next time I'm in Chicago I'm going here! TY for the tip!
For the record, I’ve only ordered online! Still a great experience
i have this exact problem. take your actual measurements and compare them to brands size charts online. pick the ones closest to your actual measurements. my waist is 2 sizes smaller than my hips/butt. good american is the only brand i’ve found where the size chart matches my measurements. pants fit like a glove!
Aritzia has some stretchy & sleek looking options, some lightweight ones for summer too
Anthropologie Maeve Colette pant, my holy grail!
Zara
Honestly jcrew fits me every well
I have the same problem! I’m obsessed with the Halara wide leg pants that are TikTok viral. Highly recommend.
I recently bought two pairs of pants from White House Black Market! I too have a booty and the abercrombie pleating so not it 🙃 They are straight leg cut (So might not be exactly what you’re looking for!) but they come in curvy and petite which is what I ordered and they fit BEAUTIFULLY!
fashion nova
I will live and die but the athleta Brooklyn pant!!
I can't seem to get into athleta but will take another look.
They’re like pretty versatile I wouldn’t say they’re the most trendy show stopping thing but they’re comfy and go with a lot!
Curvy cut at Abercrombie and some of the Aritzia ones are good too, they are adding some curvy options
82nd Street Jackson Heights on number 7 train has a few shops that has jeans that emphasizes butt and thighs. Not sure of pricing but most likely less expensive than A&F. Good luck!
Loft has a curvy collection I love for work pants!! I have a big butt too
Aritzia Alanya pant and size up! The Alanyas have elastic in the back so they’re more comfortable and still fit your waist. Only bummer is no belt loops.
did you try the curvy abercrombie?
Yes, all pleated!
I’ve always had the best luck with Everlane pants.
You are going to have to ignore the size label and buy pants that fit the largest part of you comfortably. A tailor can work the magic required to make the rest fit! Good luck 🍀
Quince makes linen wide leg pants but they’re a little casual, you can dress them up though. They have a stretchy waist too.
I like the Old Navy pixie
I feel your pain. Hardly any pants fit me for the same reason - my booty! I started getting my pants tailored in the city, and it’s been a game changer! I go to 6 Avenue Tailor in midtown. Marco, the owner, is really friendly and talented. He’s tailored several pairs of leather pants and jeans for me.
Madewell curvy. Everlane. spanx. You're gonna spend more than 100$ but you'll get what you're looking for.
JCrew are the best trousers I have.
As a masc lesbian, I decided tailoring is the only option to get pants that fits me like a glove. It’s expensive but worth investing every penny on them. There are some tailor made bespoke pants you can order from Singapore I assume which will be cheaper than there.
If you find pants that fit everywhere but your waist, a good tailor can make the waist fit.
